The halfling responds “ I’ve not gone into the barn but after the ruckus last night and when I checked the laying boxes on the outside of the barn they were empty. Well I put two and two together and got four you know!”
“Fair enough, we’ll check it out.. you may want to stay inside just in case!” Lash says, readying his weapon and heading to the barn while alerting the others.
Klaes takes out a set of regular cards from his other pocket, and gives it a good shuffle mid air. "Let as go check on those eggs maan." He will stay behind everyone.

Gael carefully opens the barn door. The barn is full of agricultural equipment - it is after all the middle of winter and the fields are fallow. Against the far wall of the barn - approximately 50 feet away - he can make out the shapes of what look four scarecrows that have been stored for the winter.
"From this distance, they do seem normal scarecrows." says Gael to the group "Still, I guess that they will come to life, so to speak, soon enough." Sword at the ready, the dwarf moves 10ft towards the scarecrows to have a better look.
“Perhaps poke them from a distance first?” Lash suggests, stepping to the side and making sure he has a clear line of sight. “Worst case I pay the man for destroying an innocent scarecrow?”
That said, Lasciel draws his whip and snaps it out towards one of the figures. Much too far away for the lash to actually strike the targets itself, the glowing Eldritch energy that is summoned quickly flashes down the length of the ship and snaps off as it cracks and flies toward the target on its own.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Klaes takes out a card from the normal deck. "Perhaps we can give them a little poke." He tosses the card (like a ninja star) towards one of the scarecrows.

Lash swing the whip around his head with a flourish and a bolt of eldritch energy does fly of the end of it. Unfortunately his timing is somewhat off and the bolt leaves the whip tip when it is behind Lash rather it’s when the tip of the whip is behind him rather than in front. In fact Lash is lucky that the bolt of energy does not hit either himself or another member of the group.
The non-aerodynamic nature of Klaes’ cards means that it flutters to the ground after about 10 feet close to the feet of Gael who has moved closer to the four stationary scarecrows.
"They still do seem normal scarecrows to me, maybe we are dealing with ghosts or other phantoms that somehow move them during the night." Gael moves within sword range and gently pokes one of the scarecrows with his sword.
Klaes takes another card from the deck and inspects it. "Indeed, they usually never fail." He puts the deck of cards away, and he follows Gael from a safe distance.

“Yoikes!” Lash explains, ducking and turning to see where he sent the beam so quickly that he almost falls over.
He quickly recovers though, giving his whip a dark, scolding glare and then assuring the others “That almost never happens!”
“Mostly…”
