The Sun is just peeking through the clouds as you enter into the forest. Lurkwood is a name that doesn’t sound pleasant, but as you enter the tree line, it is indeed a beautiful and serene atmosphere under the canopy. This forest is dense, lots of undergrowth and the trees are packed in and close together. The colors of autumn are in full display here on the oaks and aspen intermixed into the tall pine and spruce. You can smell the moist forest floor with its piles of leaves and needles. The birds sing their songs and issue out their warnings as you pass nearer them along the road. While a bit narrow, the road is surprisingly well kept for being so far from towns and villages. Your progress seems slower, but you know you are keeping a pretty consistent pace.

William rolled a 17 in the game log. Since he's in the front but behind Luke I'd say his roll can be used for front or middle? (front if Luke doesn't roll, middle if he does)
Aaron takes a deep breathe, taking in all the sights and smells as the forest, "My goodness, what a beautiful place this is. I swear there ain't no better season than Fall. You know, I gotta thank you all for bringing me along - Not sure I'd ever see any of this countryside otherwise." He smiles with content.
"Not sure any of us ventured this far north Aaron, but your welcome. And I agree, the woods here are truly wonderful to behold. If I didn't have this flock to take to Mirabar I would be tempted to explore it some." Sasha says, briefly pausing her flute playing, glancing over at Aaron with a warm smile.
William and Gerty both start to notice a little deeper in the woods are some startlingly large spider webs. Not too dense, but cover from high on a tree to the ground in some places. Each one a unique piece of art, reflecting the bits of sunlight that make it through the dense canopy. There is noticeably less sounds of birds from that direction.
You move further into the forest and make another couple hours travel without incident. Marvelous variety of foliage, resplendent in fall fashion greet you as you travel this stretch of the woods.
About 50' ahead the road widens a bit and there is an opening in the trees and a nice meadow. Here a small creek runs through and a bit of a pond. The sun pours in here and the grass is lush
"Yes, this place is lovely."Sasha exclaims, leading her flock onto the meadow while curiously moving on to the pond to check if it is swimmable or if it is, hehe, full of monsters.
As they gather together in the meadow, Gerty tells the rest about the spider webs she saw and that they might even be big enough to capture birds. "This place is beautiful, but we really need to keep a lookout."

Not really deep enough for swimming. But the water is clear and you can see your reflection perfectly. Next to the spot you are tending are some cattails reeds and on one of them you notice a small rolled up piece of parchment tied with ribbon to one of them. The ribbon has Sasha written in a fancy script.
Curious as ever, Sasha picks up the small rolled up piece of parchment, unrolls it and reads it, and not one for lengthy considerations she immediately sheds her clothes, without hesitance following the instructions of her mysterious benefactor, trying to dive deep into the center of the pond, hoping to find this symbol of their bond.
Loran is enjoying the relative peace of the clearing when Sasha suddenly does something... Unexpected. ("What in the- No surely she didn't just- Surely not...?" "WHAT WAS IN THAT SALMON?!?!?!") Standing up, Loran sheepishly wonders over to Aaron to give him a tap on the shoulder. "Umm... Aaron uh, I think Sasha just dove into a shallow pond?" He says shrugging the most confused shrug ever shrugged.

Luke hears the group asking Sasha what's going on and turns Brownie around to see Sasha diving into the water. He shakes his head in disbelief, takes out the stag hat from his bag absentmindedly, puts it on his cold head, and mutters to himself "Well if they're going for a swim in this weather, someone better stay warm, healthy and alert."

Sasha:
You dive into what appears to be ankle deep water in a demonstration of faith. You do not hit the shallow bottom but find yourself swimming deeper and deeper. The water is sparkling and clear until you near a darker section near the bottom. You can see what appears to be fragments of sculpture and other stone work from some ancient collapsed buildings. As you swim towards the debris you can see a skeleton of some person crushed beneath a stone column, only upper portion of the skeleton is visible. It’s hands are outstretched, reaching for salvation that never came. In one hand appears to be a wand of some sort and the other hand is empty.

"Sounds like a plan to me." "I could use a break." Loran says with a big old stretch.

for Sasha
I have for you, a gift my dear
as you have proven yourself both far and near
it isn’t a jewel, a tome or a flower
but, my gift to you is a little more Power…
Dive deep, into the center of the pond
and find a new symbol of our bond.
The Animals joyfully partake of the lush delicious grass and quench their thirst in the pure forest stream. A rest well deserved.

Well, this is much better!

"Sasha! What in the world are you doing??" Gerty runs to the edge of the pond to keep an eye on her friend.
