Bran puts his wand away in his belt and introduces himself. "Good day..? morning...? hmm, what time is it anyways? Ah yes, well I am Bran Highdimple, and you sir, look awfully familiar but I can't put a finger on it."
"I am Jerub the Gray! High priest of Kelemvor, judge of all mortal souls! And, this..." Jerub makes a broad arm motion towards the rest of the room, "... is my establishment. Welcome to the Seventh Heaven Hostel and Hospice!"
Jerub turns to the man in the plate armor, now leaning cooly against his battleaxe, and says, "This is Barclay Brüm, captain of the North Gate order of Red Sashes!" The knight bows stoically and says, "At yer service!" with booming yet gravelly tone.
Jerub nods to the demonic looking tiefling woman. You can see now she has large metallic-looking claws instead of fingers, click-clacking beneath the draped sleeves of her cloak. "And Kyarna Hellsinger, second Sage--"
Jerub is interrupted by a shout from below, echoing up from the cellar. "FOUND IT! I've found it!" The pierced, elf-like man with the black eyes comes bounding excitedly up the stairs and into the common area of the Seventh Heaven. An ornate leather sling with a glowing red rune embossed on the pouch dangles from his hand, while he inspects the flute in his other hand. His face twists from extreme joy to a look of overwhelming sorrow. He now looks as though he's about to start crying. His head slumps down in disappointment as he says, "My flute is broken". The elf-man skulks to another nearby table, sits down, and then plops his face down into his folded arms on the table, utterly defeated.
"That's Karrick." Jerub says giving a half-hearted point toward the dramatic, black-eyed man pouting at the table.
Jerub stoops down next to the giggling man on the floor and says, "and this is Kane", as he places a caring hand on the ragged man's shoulder. The man on the floor replies by muttering some nonsense to himself about "black shadows" and "mommy dearest", giggling all the while, as his eyes wildly scan the room, never fixing on any certain point. You can see almost every tooth is rotted out of this crazy man's mouth, leaving behind a black, mangled mess of broken bone chips.
"Who are your friends?" Jerub questions innocently as a weak smile grows across his feeble face.
You notice that two of the people laying on the cots at the other end of the room have sat up and are turning to see what's happening from their filthy places of repose.
Barclay says, "You know these outlanders Jerub?", with a curious look on his face.
Jerub doesn't break his gaze from the party as he replies, "Noooo", while scratching his chin as if trying to remember you. "I'm sure I've never met them."
"I'm sorry, Flow was it? I have no 'adventurers' and I don't believe I have ever met any of you. You are welcome at the Seventh Heaven of course, so long as you don't cause any trouble."
Jerub squints and really studies Flow's details for the first time. He takes a moment to take in the rest of the party. He speaks again, this time very slowly, "Where is it you come from, again?"
Hildigrim tentatively approaches the Tiefling, not blinking. He holds the torch burning in one hand and his battleaxe in the other, both forgotten, both being held erect like candles. He stops beside her and clears his throat politely. "Excuse me, madam," he says with wrapped attention. "My name is Hildigrim Goodbody. I believe you were introduced as ... Kyarna. It's a pleasure to make your aquaintence. You're ... a Tiefling, correct?"
"I'm Barrel Jynx, Dwarven bard extraordinaire, at your service." Barrel says with a bow and flourish of his cloak. "We hail from Water deep, I'm not sure how we got into your basement friend Jerub but it seems you had a slight undead problem that we had fixed for you."
Barrel looks around the room and begins to play an uplifting beat on his drum, trying to lift the spirits of everyone.

"Friend Jerub, perhaps you can help us since we did take care of your little problem in the cellar. We are in search of an evil artifact called The Putris Corruptis, it is said to be held in a desecrated tomb of the order of Kelemvor. This tomb supposedly resides in the great graveyard. We were tasked to find this artifact and bring it back to our employer so that it may be destroyed, helping you and yours in the process once it is destroyed."
Barrel says as he walks the room looking at each person there. He gives a nod or a smile to each as he passes by. He finishes his circuit of the room and ends in front of Jerub. "What say you Jerub the Gray, Do you know where this place is so that we may destroy this evil artifact and have order restored and bring the light to this gloom forsaken place?"

"More of you!?" Jerub exclaims. "Incredible!" Jerub looks amazed! "Not only am I from Waterdeep, originally! So are those two over there." Jerub points to the short man and the slender woman sitting on the cots watching you from afar. "What a coincidence! This is incredible!"
"And you've killed the evil shades haunting our basement! Oh praise be to Kelemvor!" Jerub says with soft-spoken glee.
Barclay interrupts Jerub by pulling his axe off the ground and sliding it into the tether on his back. He steps up next to Jerub and interjects, "All of them?" Barclay turns to the group and repeats the entire question, "We can talk about yer 'employer' and whatever else later. You killed all of the Shadows down there? None of them knackered off? They WILL come back if you didn't get them all." He grimaces at all of you as he waits for your reply.
After speaking briefly with the very fascinating Tiefling (OOC: Charlie, I'm assuming you didn't want to comment on this exchange), Hildigrim turns his attention to Jerub, Barclay and his own comrades just in time to hear Bran's response to Barclay. "I, for one, am glad it did," Hildi says matter-of-fact-ly. He extinguishes his torch and continues, "They left quite a negative impression," he grins. He notices Barclay's expression and pauses. "I'm sorry. Did I miss something?" He also looks about at the faces of the others.
Barclay says, "Tyr damn those beasts to the hells. We'll have to board it back up!" He then stomps off towards the bar. As he passes Carrick, whose face is still buried in his folded arms, Barclay says, "Get the hell up and quit yer pouting Carrick. Go get some nails from the bottom drawer of the medic's cabinet." Carrick lifts his head slightly too look at Barclay. He smiles weakly at Barclay's request and then answers, "Okay Barclay".
Carrick gets up from the nearby table and runs across the room, weaving through the cots. He opens a large cabinet at the far end of the infirmary and then begins rifling through the bottom drawers.
Jerub turns back to the party and says "That's really alright. We appreciate you dispatching what you could. Those fouls spirits have been dwelling in my cellar for almost a year now."
Jerub twists to look behind him as Carrick and Barclay are now assembling a pile of rotten looking planks and other small scraps of wood near the basement doorway. Barclay picks up a plank and begins nailing it over the doorway with the flat side of his axe.
Jerub turns back to all of you and tries to speak over the sound of the nails being driven, "Perhaps we shall reconvene and converse in fifteen minutes or so? Once all of this ruckus is finished? I must commune with Kelemvor anyway. Maybe he can offer me some guidance to pass on to you!" The nailing grows louder as Carrick is now snapping some of the planks to length over the edge of one of the tables in the common area. Barclay is cursing with anger at the boards as he nails them into the doorjamb.
Jerub bows to you a few times as he backs away from the party. He then folds his arms into his sleeves and turns away. The priest crosses the tavern area through the pews and up onto the small stage. He bows down in front of the stone altar, kneeling with his head down, resting on one knee, and begins to mumble prayers quietly to himself.
[DM] Sorry forgot this one!
The woman turns and speaks to Hildigrim in a hissing, guttural language that he don't recognize. Hildi tries a few more greetings in a few other languages, but the strange woman just cocks her head sideways in confusion at Hildi's speech, and continues to answer in her strange language.
Hildigrim opens and closes his mouth a few times as Barclay goes to work on the cellar door. "Should we offer to return downstairs and try again to find that last fiend? Our leaving one seems to have caused great stress."
Barrel lets out a sigh and gives Bran a look of annoyance.
"As far as I know Sir Barclay, Shades don't have them dingly parts that most things need to reproduce. Instead of boarding up the door, mayhap you go downstairs and dispatch the last one. We will help you of course but we have far more pressing matters to attend to." Barrel says as he walks over towards the stage where Jerub is getting ready to pray. "By Moradins beard Jerub, We do not have time for this. " Barrel ruffles through his pack and hands Jerub the letter that Jerub wrote. "You wrote this to us. I think I know what's happened and we can sit here and dilly dally all day but times a wasting."
Barrel looks around the room at everyone and shakes his head.
"Either you know where this desecrated Tomb is or you do not. We are on a deadline and don't have the time to sit here. I think that's what happened to you."
Barrel turns towards Barclay. "Oh noble knight Barclay, Where was Jerub one week ago today? I assume he was not around here that day correct?"
Flow nods at the group.
"I am Flow," he says.
"And you are...?"
And that's all I have to say about that.
Bran puts his wand away in his belt and introduces himself. "Good day..? morning...? hmm, what time is it anyways? Ah yes, well I am Bran Highdimple, and you sir, look awfully familiar but I can't put a finger on it."

OOC: No wonder it was a brief conversation.
Hildigrim opens and closes his mouth a few times as Barclay goes to work on the cellar door. "Should we offer to return downstairs and try again to find that last fiend? Our leaving one seems to have caused great stress."
"I think so," Flow remarks.
He casts Light on his trident, causing it to glow brightly.
"This will make it easier to find the shadow, hopefully."
Flow starts to head for the door to the downstairs area, looking to see if anyone else is coming,
but sees the two nailing boards to it.
"Why are you nailing it back up? We can destroy it, or at least try."
And that's all I have to say about that.
