This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

OOC: Sorry, neophyte question here: I think I've done the dice roll code correctly (added 5 as that's my perception bonus), but is there some way to see what the roll result is before I post so that I can also add my IC reaction to the failure or success before I actually post? Or do I have to post, see the roll result, then edit to include the flavour of my success or failure?

As far as I know, you have to post the roll, and then edit the post to add your IC/OOC text. Maybe one of our other players has a better way though.

Yes, although editing can be fraught with Peril. sometimes it is better to just make a follow-up post with your reaction to the roll. An alternative is to give two options in the original post ( "If I succeed, I do x, If I fail, I do y")
"You would not be warding against evil, if you did not think there is a relevant dangerinvolved"- the pragmatic Razaniel replied with a nod, taking a drink from his beer - "So I do not think one gold piece is enough to go against the undead"
OOC:
I wish you could roll from the character sheet, and it would just paste it here - that would be cool :)
Yoli keeps a cool demeanor, but thinks "A Banshee! I've heard they're extremely dangerous." He speaks ""Y-yes, we can look into this. We'll do our best "

OCC: If I think I might want to flavor the result of a roll I always try to place the roll first then add a few blank lines. Once the roll is posted if you stay off the original line you should be fine to edit. This goes for any roll really. As long as you don't edit above the roll you should be fine. As for posting from mobile If your on Android (Apple may be similar but I don't know)in the drop down selection provided by the three vertical dots in the up right hand corner of the screen is a choice to use desktop mode. Turning that on will allow you to use all of the website posting tools. Including rolling dice.
"Well, I don't really know that it’s a banshee." He mops his head with his apron again. "It sure wails like one though…or so I've heard." The fat man grins and shakes his head. "I don't know. We thought it may be wolves at first, but no wolf ever sounded like this."
"Undead you say? Well, light shine I hope not! You never know what kind of people may take up in the deep forest though. All I know is I need these men to get to work. The lazy lot!" He laughed loudly and waved his hands around.
"Look, I'll try to make it more worth your time to help, but it will need to be quick. There's a fog at night, and it's been getting thicker and thicker lately." He wags a fat sausage sized finger at you. "Now look, seriously, I don't want you boys trying to face anything down. I just need confirmation what it is."
Smacking his large hands down on the tabletop and smiling broadly, "Well, do we have a deal?"
DMN:
So I tested the dice roller by posting, and then editing a post in above it, and it changed the roll. My next post I will test editing in beneath the roll. We will get this worked out.
"Very well then, I am in. We will find what is making the noises and report back" - Razaniel grunts, now having finished his beer, and looks to the others - "Agreed?"
Yoli takes his last bite of the stew, washes it down with the last of his ale, and exclaims "Well folks, the day's not getting any longer. If we plan to do this before nightfall, we'd better act quickly. I don't like the idea of facing off with a Banshee in the nighttime.". Then addressing Fat Fred, "How long will it take us to travel to where this monster lurks?"
” I concur with Mr Yoli here, best not to fight creatures of the dark, in the dark. How exciting, I hope I can get a good drawing of this foul thing. I wonder how they function….” Boil quickly gulps down his stew and finishes his ale in one slug. He does another sketch of Fat Fred and his amazing stasche, and ponders what a Dragonborn would look like with a similar one…He just might have to try it out

"A banshee? .. the undead? Have there been problems with undead creatures locally? Has a necromancer come to these parts?"
OOC.
I can't roll until I get home from work (~4 hrs), unless there's a way to do rolls using the mobile version.

Can you type the roll forum code in? Like: {roll}1d20{/roll} --except using the square brackets instead of the pointy ones I used here?
