IC: Before leaving the camp, Abel tries to sell his 1 ounce bottle of ink for 5gp and then attempts to buy 1 piece of chalk, 1 bar of soap, and 1 flask of oil for 1cp, 2cp, and 1 sp, respectively.
OOC Edit: since posting this last night it has occurred to me that this isn't necessarily something I should post and perhaps am supposed to do via PM. If so, apologies for the spam. :)
As the group gathered at the edge of the woods, Scat looked at them and harrumphed. "Yous slow!"
Heading into the woods, the group found them to be much thicker than previously thought. There were some game trails that broke off here and there, but to the most part the gully dwarf seemed to follow no trail. He moved back and forth and over and under the terrain like it was his natural habitat. Every now and then, he would stop and wait, pointing randomly at someone in the party and declaring loudly, "Yous slow!"
Scat hummed to himself too. Every now and then he would get excited and sing until he laughed so hard he could barely breathe.

After a few hours, the group could begin to hear running water.
"Mees there almost." Scat pointed a thumb at his chest and beamed with pride. "Yous slow."
Within a few minutes, the group breaks into a small clearing with a fast running stream. It's early dusk, and the light is fading quickly.
DMN:
Good morning! I hope everyone had a great weekend.
What does the group do? Please have the conversation IC. I want to see how you interact with each other. I'll watch the exchange until I see a solid plan for the evening agreed to. If you have any questions about environment, please let me know.
Regarding what should go in OOC or PM, in general, I believe in full transparency to as much of an extent as you are comfortable with as a player. Whatever you want to ask/do in OOC or PM is totally up to you. There is no right or wrong about it. No hard rules related to posts, I just want you to all enjoy the game.
As the group enters the riverside clearing Quin speaks up, "So have any of you actually seen or heard a banshee before? If that's even what this is." He asks.
Boil pipes up and says” from what I have read, most people who hear the song of the banshee do not live to tell…undeath is fascinatingly terrifying…I myself know mostly about orcs and goblins, as I spent a year living with each to observe their cultural habits. I found the goblins to be quite enjoyable folks once you get past their exterior behavior. Not sure if banshees will be as pleasant”

Acher stands at the edge of the clearing, gazing and breathing deeply. "This is it?" he asks Scat. Then he turns to the others, "I'm going to get closer." He begins skulking toward the water.
IC: "I am unaccustomed to making camp with such a large, noisy group. Do any of you have experience with military operations? I'm given to understand that a large group makes a large target at night, so perhaps one of you armored types can suggest a plan to best guard ourselves against the dangers of a dark forest as we rest?"

"Mees smart. Yous slow?"- Razaniel replied to Scat, looking very serious.
As the group enters the riverside clearing Quin speaks up, "So have any of you actually seen or heard a banshee before? If that's even what this is." He asks.
"I have never encountered such a creature"- Razaniel replied, then observed as Acher moved off.

"Hold up! Just wait a few minutes, so I can scout out the area with my familiar.". Yoli sends the owl over the stream, and directs it to observe and listen from a height.

” maybe we should find a good spot where we can only be approached from a limited angle? Or maybe these trees can make a good vantage point to see the creature from a distance..I know of a race of bird people, they like tall roosts just for that reason…Arrakoa, I think they made called..” boil says to any that seem like they might hear him.
he would like to investigate the area to see if any terrain features would make a good group camp with limited access
investigation:22
” do you all think we should hole up all together or split up into little pods or clusters?”
Boil offers to create a fire before the darkness fills the sky, as soon as a suitable camp is found. He will draw a quick sketch of the area, noting where the river is and the general outline of the glade they are in. Once accommodations have been decided on, he will draw that as well.

Before anybody can leave Quin says in a horse whisper,
"I don't know what all this "camp" talk is. This is an active stake out. Everyone needs to find a place to hunker down and hide. We don't even know what we're facing. Besides we're here to observe not engage. Once we know then we can devise a plan to get rid of it. IF needed. We should spread out in teams of 2 around the clearing. Help each other camouflage your spot. Scat go back to Fred and tell him where we are and return here in the morning. The rest of us will watch. Take turns spelling each other and stay alert. Also if anybody has some tracking skills now would be a good time to see what tracks are around. Might be a clue."
He looks at the rest to see if his plan is being accepted and partners chose.

Stealth for his own hiding spot:16
OCC: It's probably too early for arcana rolls to see if we recognize any of the info.
“ Sounds good to me Mr. Quin. I shall find myself a good tree. Shall I make a bonfire in an area away from our hideouts? Maybe some cooking meat? We can make a fake person with some string and twigs….to lure the creature for a better view…” Boil says to Quin. Quin seems to know what he is about, so Boil is quick to listen. Almost as quick as he is to talk.

IC: Abel nods at Quin, crouches down and approaches Kwami, asking him in a low voice, "You, friend. You seemed familiar with these creatures by name when that Fred fellow mentioned the thought that these noises were 'Banshees'. I believe you called them 'undead'. I know of such things, but nothing by this particular name. Do you know anything else about them that might best be shared with the others? What sort of sounds do they make? Perhaps there are living creatures in these woods that may be mistaken for a 'Banshee'."
Stealth (crouching and whispering?): 19
OOC: hah! Apparently Abel knocks over both his and Kwami's backpacks and "whispers" like a bullhorn. :P
"Quin speaks sensibly." Yoli begins helping Quin to build a small hidey-hole that has a decent view of the clearing for them to hunker down in. Meanwhile, the Owl familiar has perched high up in one of the tallest trees, far enough away from the sound of the stream for it to not be a distraction, but close enough to keep a telepathic connection with Yoli, and keeps watch from there.
OOC
Hopefully this can count as a help action for Quin's stealth.
OOC Acher would be fine with position 1
