Horatio rushes over to Ben and extracts a chisel and small wood mallet from his pack. He uses quick light strikes to reduce the sound he makes, quickly breaking away the edges of the puddle hardened around Ben's feet. Quietly he says, "Okay, try now, that should do it."

Before Titaani leaves, she glances around the workshop for anything useful she could take, not least of which something that the hag had taken from her and her friends.

Horatio helps tear Ben off the sticky spot, and the group begins to retreat.
Titaani grabs a silver hammer and chisel in a green leather tool belt on the way out. She also spots a set of nesting dolls in which each doll looks more frightened than the next larger one, but decides against taking it.
The owlbear looks somewhat ill after gobbling down the boggle. But Squirt is in high spirits. It hovers behind you, and announces a little loudly, "All oiiiiled up! Time to par-ty!"
You can hear the music starting up again from the crate in the next room as the group exits into the Parlor. (Where to, next?)
Horatio would urge his friends, "Let's go out the way we came in and not look back - leave the town altogether and find the others once clear of this place."
”As much as I’d like to defeat her today, your plan is the most sound to protect those we have rescued, Horatio. Let’s get out of here and escort them to the meeting place with Will,” responds Ben, still moving away from Granny’s domicile.

The party hustles the three children out of the parlor and over the gnarled root bridge. There is nobody on the path as you race into the dark forest and begin your journey back to Little Oak's glade.
But you don't get far before you hear a voice calling from behind.
"Psst! Psst! Hey!" It's Will. He has a worried look on his face as he sprints to catch up.
"Any of you guys pick locks? I got into the kitchen, but the door is locked to the mill. And she got Mishka chained up to a table with a lock on her foot. And there's a cell with a locked grate on top with some kind of dwarf guy in it. I couldn't break any of 'em. And Cradlefall is sleeping there, but I snuck by him. That's Granny's dragon wyrmling thing. But I ain't got keys or lockpicks or nothing and they were too strong for me to break. Can you guys open locks?" He looks with a flash of approval at the three children in your party, but then his face returns to a look of concern.
”Any sign of the imprisoned unicorn?” asks Ben as he takes in the information from Will…
Looking at the others, Ben says, “Well this seems pretty dangerous, but I am up for trying to rescue more people if you are. We could have Squirt lead the kids to safety and ask Will to get us to the kitchen…as long as someone can pick locks…”

A darkness crosses over Horatio's face. "Wait. We followed the plan, and now Granny Nightshade is going to know we betrayed her. Every alive toy, boggle, and other thing in her workshop saw and heard us. If we go back, our chances of a fight against her are almost certain and we cannot hope to win. We don't have to be so impatient. Let us secure these children, learn more about the area and its people, and try to gain more resources. If we charge in without a plan we are more likely to lose, and that means no one escapes. Evil wins." He looks at Will, a pained expression on his face. "I know you desperately want your friends freed and safe. So do we. I do understand. But if we fail, no one else is coming to save them. We have to win, and right now, our chances of that are too low. If however, we can coax her away from this place, with her soldiers, then we can raid it when she is gone. We just need leverage."
"No. No unicorns that I saw," responds Will. "But she got Mishka chained to the worktable with an ankle cuff. Mishka wanted me to push Cradlefall into Granny's oven, but I don't think that woulda been wise right then. Maybe next time. But there's at least eight kids still in there somewhere, by my counting. You can't just leave 'em! We gotta get 'em out of there! Plus that dwarf guy, I guess. Who knows who else she got captive in there?"
He turns to Matilda. "You think you can do that hairpin thing on one of Granny's locks? She got the door locked that goes from the kitchen into that room that leads up to the mill, so I couldn't get up there. Granny's got a ring of keys to 'em all – I seen her use it once."
”We may not get another chance at this, and I hate to leave anyone imprisoned if I can help it…Can you stage another distraction, Will, to get us a better chance?” asks Ben, grasping at straws.

" Horatio, can you take the kids to the safe house? I'll go and try and get the others loose....if she catches me she'll just use me to work. You and Ben...and maybe Titaani will be killed."
"Matilda, you're not thinking it through. You know where the hideout is... She may hurt you for that information. Then all is lost." Horatio's expression is fearful to Matilda.
Matilda scrunched her hands together and emit a high pitched sigh, " Will, shut up! Horatio, yes I know...but they won't stop changing things.....and she's coming back now and we are all going to die.......so..........bye."
She grabbed hold of owlbears ruff...and left headed back.....
