The hallway is surprisingly quite long. There's an odd optical-illusion or funhouse-mirror quality to this dim hall. What looked like maybe 20 or 25 feet of an ell become closer to 200 when you reach its end. And the very small door is actually a rather ordinary-sized door. The little steel rod is actually a fat iron-reinforced bar. It looks neither locked (beyond the bar holding it shut) nor trapped. (The bar is designed to lift to unlock the door from this side.) The hall itself has widened into a huge, cavernous space; its wooden floor is heavily textured, with huge black cracks you have to hop over, littered with debris and crossed with thick strands of coarse black mold and pale blue fungus.
Pud follows along with the crew. He awakens Rizzo and has her patrol.
”Hey, Rizzo. Fly up high and make sure nothing bad is lurking up there.”
Rizzo’s Perception check: 9 (5+4)
Meanwhile, Pud looks at the debris and does his best to avoid the mold and fungi.
DM: what kind of debris is in the room? Does it resemble the sorts of things we’ve seen around Bavlorna’s home or does it look out of sorts? Is it waterlogged as if it was washed in from the swamp?

Rizzo can't see much (even with darkvision), as the dark chamber is hundreds of feet tall here. But Rizzo sees nothing of concern.
The debris ranges from rocks and logs to unidentifiable chunks and blobs. Nothing fresh, and nothing that suggests crafting (civilized artifacts or the like) – just natural-looking materials. Everything is bone dry, although there is evidence of an old stain of some sort of gooey liquid that once washed through here. It's definitely unusual, and unlike what you've seen in the other rooms, although the musty smell is quite similar to much of Bavlorna's house.
Elkhorn and Morgort follow along; Vansel stays behind in the waspy kitchen.
”This is not what I expected—are we even in the same building anymore? Is everything else bigger or are we smaller?” asks Ben with some confusion. He looks around as well as they approach the door.
Perception: 9
If he sees nothing of concern in the room or at the door, he tries to open it by moving the bar.

The bar lifts, the door opens. Ahead, Ben sees an irregular tunnel – perhaps 10 or 15 feet long, carved from solid wood, by the look of it – exiting into another large, dark cavernous space littered with copious debris and fungus. But the cavern ahead has a low, perfectly flat ceiling; a long rectangular light can be seen at the horizon.
”Does it look like we are coming out under a drawer?” asks Ben, “Perhaps we should go out and back around to see if the furniture on the far side of the original wall matches up here. If we have shrunk, that may explain it…”

"Shrunk? I've shrunk before, but it felt very different to this," Titaani comments, standing up and brushing the dirt and fungus off her knees. "I guess we can go back if you want to, Ben, but I really want to see what's ahead."
As she speaks, Titaani moves forward towards the rectangular light, being careful to avoid any cracks in the floor. Perception: 13
Titaani leads the way through the rough wooden tunnel to the other side. The debris field is thicker here, with small boulders of what looks like dried bread, blobs of dried gelatin, woolly fibrous tangles, and evidence of large brown stains from prior flooding from some sort of sticky liquid, in addition to the fat strands of mold and pale fungi growing here.
The ceiling extends for another fifty or so feet past the tunnel, and then opens up into a massive, brighter void. You see a huge, roughly-decorated plaza of bright colors ahead, with fat white ropes extending from it in all directions.
Ben runs back into the mouse hole and down the secret hallway. It takes him nearly a full minute to race down the dusty hallway in his minuscule state. He hops through the mirror door, and back into the first hallway, his size unchanged. Approaching the door to the study door, prepared to report his failure, he suddenly enlarges without warning. He steps into the study in his usual, full size.
Everyone else enlarges at about the same time, too. Elkhorn, who had wandered back under the cabinet to watch Ben depart, is now pinned underneath the heavy piece of furniture. (He is prone and restrained.)
Titaani approaches the door and kneels down to inspect it. Does it look like she could fit through it, if the steel rod was gone?

"We sure got our money's worth at this year's carnival..." Horatio looks around in confusion. "Did we really shrink?"

" Well....this is weird.....", Matilda ventured as she moved up level with Titaani.
Pud moves up ahead next to Titaani and Matilda. The ropes in particular draw his attention. He directs Rizzo down to receive orders.
He whispers "Hey, girl. Go buzz around those ropes and see if they move."
As Rizzo flies up, he'll watch carefully to see if the ropes move in any unusual way as she flies around them.

You are in Bavlorna's study, at 1/20 your normal size. Even lofty Horatio is less than four inches tall. Titaani is barely two.
The ropes don't move; they are just strings off a frayed rug.
" This is kinda cool......anywhere we can get to like this that we couldn't before?"
" We can turn back right?", Matilda worried.
Ben:
”I will go back around and see if I can enter at my full size. Then I can lift you guys up wherever you need to go and let you explore,” offers Ben.
Unless there is disagreement, he circles around and enters the study, hopefully at normal size.
