Vinny can’t suppress a wry smile at the “hit em till we do” line.
He catches the pole mid flight and adjusts his grip towards one end. He equips his shield and keeps it out in front of him as he begins tapping the far end of the pole on the ground like a blind man’s cane. He stops short of the interior door.
He sets the pole aside to inspect the door for traps.
Opening his eyes, the first thing Perner notices is undulating webbing of abjuration magic, like a multi-phase weave, pervading the entire room and extending to the walls (and presumably beyond). This deep purple weave intersects with varying degrees of transparency with all he sees. Interspersing across the field of webbing is also a pale, persistent, pulsing golden light of transmutation. There are also sparse points of greedy venom-green divination magic which blink like fire flies about the room. He seems to almost hear faint cackling echoes giving the impression of old, long used magics of all other sorts, but particularly twisted.
Where ever they have found themselves, it is under the influence of some SERIOUS use and abuse of the weave.
Looking beyond the room at those in whose company he finds himself, Perner begins to pick up many discrete magics.
About all of them is a fading aura of conjuration - likely from whatever summoned them here.
About Veil he sees crackling vines of weave looping like tendrils about her. Each tendril ends in what can only called blooms, but the blooms either twinkle merrily or burst forth in sparking flaming fury.
The one called Vinny has no particular influence in the weave in his person, but his aura feels like it has weight, resting solidly in the weave about it. From his belongings Perner sees red pulses of evocation magic coming from one of his belongings.
Zera stand within humanoid size ripples of light blue, green and golden swirls. They dance and sparkle about her. Amongst her belongings he senses an item with a white aura of transmutation and divination.
The elf ((Amotal)) stands within a twilight amber hue of fey magic, almost fading in and out of this plane. There is also an almost earthy 'scent' to the magic about him.
The monk Bran also stands not interwoven with the weave directly. However, there what can only be described as a reddish-gold orb of power visible in the core of his abdomen. It almost seems to anchor him to this place and to the weave, except that as he moves it moves perfectly with him, or does he move with it? There hangs a distant shroud of radiant energy about him with a sanguine coloring of sacrifice. This energy seems more detached from him than the other's visible magical connections. It is almost like another entity observing him.
Finally, looking at himself, Perner sees the familiar indications of how his gods have woven him into the weave... the almost white, pulsing light of life, the radiant energy sustaining all. He also sees the comforting crystal blue sparkle of purifying radiant power coming from the vial of Holy Water in his pouch.

The doors swing open with relative ease. Despite the lack of a host to greet you, someone has obviously been maintaining the estate.
Peering inside, Vinny sees a long, unlit hallway.
He gingerly extends the pole through the door and cringing, touches the other side of the floor. The pole does not meet a hard floor, but rather bounces on the soft cushion of a thick carpet stretching out from the doors.
There is subtle movement alongside the right wall of the hall, just at the edge of the light shining in from the foyer.
Those with darkvision may see:
Along the right wall, stationed at regular intervals stand four large, burly humanoids. Each stands a full 6 and a half feet tall, and has pale orange skin and dark gray to black unkempt hair. Yellow eyes pierce out beneath a beetling brows, and their wide mouths are full of pointy, yellowed teeth. Their limber arms seem stretched, and their hands end in wicked black claws. Strangely, each one is dressed in footman's livery and carries a serving tray under one arm.

“Can someone follow me with one of those candelabras? It’s a little dark over here.” Vinny asks.
He will step across the threshold leading with his extended cane, waving it around mid-torso height and occasionally tapping the carpeted floor. He’ll also be glancing to the ceiling and walls for doors, hatches or sconces to help light up the hallway.
Between Perner's torch and Zera's bright blade, the light now spills in so that all can see down the hall a good distance. The end of the hall is still further on dimly visible in shadow.
This appears to be a front hall connecting the foyer to the rest of this wing. There are no candelabras here, although a dim gray light seeps in from the tall windows on the west wall.
The lights carried by Perner and Zera provide enough illumination however as Vinny begins to enter the hall. It is a warmly built hall with what Vinny can now see is a deep red carpet running the length of it to the north. Not quite as tall as the foyer, the hall still gives a sense of strength and grandeur with its oak lined walls and rough beams along the ceiling.
The humanoids stand still, but follow the group with their eyes. Between the second and third figure, the group makes out a door on the east wall.
“Well, isn’t this fancy?” Vinny will say sarcastically.
He keeps the pole pointed down the hallway with the intent to raise and poke the first one in the chest to hold one back should they approach threateningly.
”Are you here to announce our arrival or seat us to dinner?” He asks the ghouls with as much gentility as he can muster.
"if its dinner then m glad ive got prestlike magic"

The closest figure looks at Vinny with its head cocked to one side as he speaks. Its yellow pupil-less eyes looking eerily at him. It then tilts its head in another direction, as if listening to something else.
It makes a smart gesture and a 3 foot tall candelabra appears in its hand. He dutifully places it midway down the hall along the western wall and returns to his former station.
With this additional light, the group clearly sees the door on the eastern wall as well as another set of double doors at the far end of the hall.
None of the other figures respond to Vinny other than glances, although the lack of pupils in their eyes even make these difficult to note.
Bran looked around the decorations of the room as the others prepared to move on. He follows close behind Vinny as he enters the hallway. “It would appear we are not alone here, this must be the welcome party”he mutters under his breath, then follows Vinny’s questions with some of his own “Where are we and why have you brought us here?”
As the light of the candles illuminate the far doorway he adds "It appears they want us to continue forward. Shall we see what lies behind the next set of doors? Perhaps it is dinner."
Zera, holding her flaming rapier and studying the curious footmen to see if they seem prone to attack, says “perhaps the double doors at the end?- at any rate we should see if these… er.. hosts.. are ok with us going through a door before we do.”
