“They don’t say much, do they? They have had plenty of time to stop us and have not.  The double doors sound good to me.  Lead on.” Bran nods to Vinny as he reaches for the door.

As the party moves closer to the double doors, the ghoulish attendants suddenly do something odd. They all turn their backs on the northern double-doors, not in a militaristic manner, but more in an awkward shuffling dis-coordinated manner - as if one began to turn and the others followed its lead. 

They now all stand in the same spots they did before, but facing the southern doors that the party originally entered the hall from.

"check th' doors first, an then lets get outta here"

Vinny checks the door and then follows the same process to open and see what’s beyond.

As Vinny is checking the door, Veil moves to one of the center-most ghoulish attendants. "Are we suppose to go South then, is that why you all turned away from the North door?" She asks as she frowns at the four figures. "Not that we will go where you want us to, but it would be interesting to know why you all just turned like that..." She frowns still though and turns her back on the North door as well, waiting to see if anything happens with Vinny's checks and door-opening.

ooc// remember plotarmoured, vinny has guidance, so he can add 1d4 to any ability check he makes, once you use it i can just reapply it, its a cantrip, the only drawback is that it takes concentration so i cant have it and detect magic up

Vinny finds nothing amiss with the doors and opens them. The doors swing open to a grand hall running east and west. 

The party enters a wide, long hallway running east to west. In the center of the hall is a 10' wide red carpet stretching from the ' west door to the east door. The ceiling arches 40' high overhead. Near the east end of the hall, a raised catwalk stretches across the hallway 10' above the characters' heads. At either end of the overpass are double doors. Thousands of 1" square mirrors are set into the ceiling and walls. The resulting reflection of your torches resembles a swarm of fireflies as myriad pinpoints of light are reflected back. The floor of the hall, where it is not covered with the red carpet, is polished white marble. The marble is so shiny you can see your reflections on its surface. Polished brass candelabra line both walls and crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling. All the candle holders on the candelabra and chandeliers are filled with unlit candles.

As the last member of the party enters the room, all the hallway doors will suddenly swing open and then slam shut. The resulting draft extinguishes all torches and lanterns. Even magical sources of light such as Zera's sword, flicker, then go out. The party is in complete darkness.

¨bad luck t´them all!¨ the ground rumbles and shakes as perner relights his torch 

As soon as Perner casts his spell relighting his torch, all the candles in the hall magically light at the same time with a brilliant flash.

The light reflects wildly off the walls, ceiling and floor and off the highly polished chandeliers and candelabra. The resulting light is so bright that all characters are temporarily blinded.

(Rolled a 2 insight for Veil, as she has darkvision so could have seen the fact he was going to relight his torch. Figured she might have been able to intuit the result of doing so with all of the reflective surfaces. A 2 wasn't going to get that done though...)
Veil lets out a soft growl as the light comes back, brighter than ever as the candles light up all across the room. She squints her eyes shut, trying to see any threat that might be coming at them...

Con save is a 17.

  Yep, but Veil hates wizards, and is very very hyper-sensative to magical traps. Not that that gives her any sort of advantage in those situations, but she is likely to get even more annoyed. Her wild magic comes from her being caught in a magic duel between two powerful wizards. Her family was killed in the clashing of magical forces, and Veil was infused with wild magic. Thus, seeing a room filled with mirrors, in a very magical castle, could have given her a bit of a warning, if only the insight was better. She is seriously parinoid right now, and this only has made her more so.
