These things have come to frighten us... they must not have the Princess! Stasolya stands her ground, a short distance from the fight breaking out in front of her. In spite of the driving rain and the sogginess of the old goat, she pulls her bagpipes around and begins to play. The wailing drone carries through the wind, competing with the thunder for supremacy. A lively tune, sounding livelier than the fierce rain, pitters and patters among the drone. Her herd likes bagpipes because they're loud---and they fire the blood and strike fear into the fishy forces of evil. Let the music of order be a Bane to the forces of chaos!
Stasolya focuses on the drow with the shield facing off with the fish creature. He must be a cleric, maybe of this Church. A force for good. A little Bardic Inspiration might help him stand his ground, too.
Cinder throws back her cloak and walks closer to the creature (about 15ft away) revealing a pair of bracers connected by a series of tubes to a chest piece. She ignored the pouring rain and the cold. She didn't know who in the hells this princess was, but there was no way she was going to let this thing have her. "Alright fishy, let's see how you do with a little heat!" The temperature nearby rises dramatically and the rain that hits Cinder's skin sizzles on contact. She holds out a hand and a wave of flame washes out over the creature. Some of the fire remained near Cinder, wreathing her body in flames.

Malenia slips her thumb off the ignition switch on her weapon, causing the Goldish beam to vanish while at the same time. Slipping the actual hilt back into the exposed plate on the underside of her Prosthetis's forearm, concealing her weapon from view. "What was that thing?" She stands over the charred corpse of the Fish-like creature. Looking over the individuals who had chosen to not just stand on the sidelines.

Cinder shrugs, shaking the residual flames away. "I've never seen anything like it. But it burns like everything else. Do any of you know who this princess is?"
The smell of burned fish filled the air as Cinder finished the creature off with fire, toppling the burned corpse back out into the street. The smoldering flesh sizzled as rain pelted it.
Suddenly a horse...no, not a horse, a Pegasus...rushed past the church, black fur and black feathers and black mane whipping as it went. A young man rode on its back, cloaked in a brown tunic, one hand brandishing a sword with an ivory hilt. Hooves beat the cobblestone road as the warrior rushed for the screaming shore.
Somewhere in the distance, far up from the ocean in the heart of the city, bells tolled, a call for guard patrols that were dispersed around the city.
A bone shattering roar rolled up the road from the direction of the port...the direction the warrior had gone...
Malenia watches as the rider rushes towards the port and the horrifying sounds coming from it. "The rider wear's a Symbol of AURYN around his neck." She blurts out just before pushing threw the door and after the rider, paying no mind to those left in the church or to the drow she easily catches up to and overtakes. Not strictly running down the street, instead she dashes into an alley and plants her foot onto the stonework of a building. Using that she pushes up and off, jumping between the two building in the alleyway until she reaches the roof. From up here, She continues her pursuit of the Rider but cautiously sends a message to Ventris.
"You and whoever else you are with, stay far back from the port. Whatever is happening there its.....beyond any of us." Her message is that of caution as she watches the waves swell and crash against the port, Watching a looming shadow rise from the anger of the ocean. Staying on the outside, a fair distance but keeping her sight on the port.

"Not this again." Pag quickly investigates the corpse 6. Looks up to see someone jumping between rooftops and assumes that means more water is coming. He thinks, "I need to get to high ground too before more water comes." He attempts climb to a nearby rooftop so that he can have a view of the harbor and be safe from the water. 2018
The wailing tune of the bagpipes takes on a triumphant air as the fish creature burns to a crisp. Despite her concentration, Stasolya lets her front hooves dance a bit in the sloshing water.
She has not quite finished her song when the strange warrior on the winged horse comes charging past the church and down through the flood towards the port. Stastolya, still playing a rousing war march, spins and gallops after the man on his horse, accompanying him with a triumphal wall of sound battling with the thunder and rain. Save the Princess! As she runs, she keeps a close eye out for the source of the awful roar and the terrible, looming shadow of something possibly much worse than a giant wave.

Cinder stares in disbelief as most of the group heads towards the problem. Did they have a death wish? Not really wanting to be relegated to babysitting the people in the church, she followed, trudging through the floodwaters. She kept her distance back, but followed in the direction of the warrior on the pegasus keeping an eye out for more of the fish creatures.
Chasing the warrior on horse back (horse back?) reveals more than a little of the problem.
Charging down the street toward the shore doesn't take long, only a minute, two, but what it brings into focus is black tentacles, some bigger than tree trunks and twice as long, as they undulate in and out of the water and begin to wipe away the coastal portions of Argos. Huge stoneworks are ripped up and thrown into the city, leveling buildings as if hit with artillery. Lightning ignites roofs, beginning a firestorm that was at least hindered a bit by the rain but was still making threats of spreading as it grew hotter. And worst of all is that the tentacles are connected to something, huge and black and malicious that was crawling out of the sea...
There is something coming up the street from the beach, and as the warrior nears, instead of engaging, the Pegasus unfurls its wings and goes over these interlopers and takes flight, heading straight toward the beast beyond.
Cinder can see more directly than those on the rooftops as Stasolya suddenly comes face to face with four more of the strange fish creatures, and one other aquatic humanoid in the midst of them that was better dressed, almost regal as he walked up the center of the street, two of the fish men on either side of him while they advanced on the Centaur.
Seeing other buildings being destroyed, Pag curses his curiosity and gets down from the roof he is on as quickly as possible. He gives a brief thought to the Pegasus and the Princess, but concludes that this is way beyond anything a Gelfling like him can handle. When we reaches street level, he turns away from the coast, away from the chaos, and heads further inland.
Ventris sighs. "This is beyond what we can handle. Everyone, fall back!" Ventris stays where he is, allowing everyone to move past him before moving himself.
Malenia stays low, doing her best to keep out of sight as Ventris' words reach her, unbeknownst to the Drow; A benefit to her ability to Message. She slowly moves back the way she came, taking her time on her return to remain undetected. (Stealth 26 in game log)

"Yeah time to go!" Cinder shouts out to anyone within earshot. "If you value your own life I would suggest heading inland. The sea is... very angry right now. Hey uh... Centaur lady? We might want to get out of here. I don't think any of us can take whatever the hells that is."
As the vanguard of fish men and their noble head appears out of the driving rain ahead of her, Stasolya slams to a halt, sloshing a good-sized wave up in front of her. She finishes out her bagpipe tune and lets go of the mouthpiece, tossing strands of her very wet braided mane out of her eyes. She draws herself up to her full height, which is not inconsiderable for a being with a horse body and half a humanoid one.
"Who are you?" she shouts firmly to the fish men, directing her inquiry at the nobly dressed one. "What is your business in Argos?"
Travel was starting to get tough. With the streets flooding, in part from the defeated levees, and in part from the whatever-it-was down there pushing water into the city, and the torrential rainfall that accompanied it that was now rolling off of rooftops in rivers. Within just a few moments the pitch of the sounds from the shore change as it becomes clear that a terrible battle has begun; the monster that is crawling out of the sea seems to be wounded in the opening exchanges of the conflict, with a glance revealing the warrior on the Pegasus bobbing to and from the swinging tentacles while slicing with the Ivory sword. Thunderous magical attacks are cast and land.
The bells ringing back toward the Keep have slowed and stopped, and soon caravan rallies out the portcullis and turns south, toward the same port that is now a battleground between two mighty forces. Wagons come out, banners unfurl, and trumpets blow...but the charge is anything but. Instead it looks like a funeral march leading from the Keep heading toward the ocean.
-= I will not be denied by the thralls of the Ivory Tower! =-The voice bellows into their brains, and apparently into the brains of everyone near them as the refugees now fleeing the conflict stop to look around, confused. -= Ring the bells if you bring forth Andromeda! =-
The bells rang.
The posse formed before Stasolya stops as she issues her challenge. Well, the obvious leader stops; he backs up, raising one arm defensively as she rears up. The fish creatures with him, on the other hand, form a line between her and their leader.
"I am Therian, Priest of Kygrax!" The thing sneers at her from behind its arm. "We are here for Princess Andromeda! You would be wise not to hinder us!"
Pag looks up at the faces of the crowd following him away from the coast. To him, they look scared, distraught. Some are so overwhelmed, they can't even evacuate. He climbs onto the wreckage of a destroyed street vendor, and catches glimpses of faces he recognizes from the fight with the fishman (Cinder, Ventris, and Malenia). Using his inspiring leader feat, he calls to the crowd, "Do not despair, my friends! Your city is under attack, but this will only be a single battle in a longer war. Today, maybe theirs, but tomorrow will be ours!" (Up to six of my allies within 30 feet, including myself, receive 6 temporary hit points). And then he wonders to himself, "What happened to that centaur? Where has she gone?"
