(OOC: @DM: It seems to me that you forgot to add the damage of Hadi's attack of post 913. In your post 918 you write the damage dealt by Hadi, but you do not update the combat stats accordingly, neither in that post nor in the next post of yours... Invisible Drow Shadowhunter should have 21 damage instead of 4 and Psychic Drow Shadowhunter should have 24 instead of 20)
Khessa fakes a headshot from Psychic Drow Shadowhunter and then drops the blade that flares with green fire in a waist-high slash.
'I'm starting to feel the fatigue accumulated throughout this endless day...' Khessa realizes 'But I can't give up right now! Damn me if I don't keep trying one blow after another until I get to hit, in the end!'
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
T’bitha takes a quick glance at everyone. Blood is spilling; however, her party’s spirits don’t seem terribly dampened or a look of danger in their eyes. “I’m going to have some work to do with everyone when this is over, Eilistraee.”
She draws her longsword at the Psychic drow attacking Tristan and lunges at the enemy, hoping to plunge her blade into Tristan’s attacker.
The crossbow shot comes as Khessa was focusing on the drows in melee reach; she does not even see it coming! The blonde arcane warrior's heavy armor partly stops the bolt, but the steel point still manages to sting.
'Damn...' she thinks, clenching her teeth ar the unexpected pain 'I'll pay you back at the first opportunity'.
Anther drow down. Perhaps they could make it out of here, but Dimitri has long before learned hoping for the best. He needs to focus on now, on what he could do. The wound on his arm still smarts, but it doesn't affect him as he loads another bolt into his crossbow and firing at Invisible Drow Shadowhunter.
(If Tristan can make it to the conjurer drow shadow hunter in a single round he will attack, otherwise ignore and he will dash)
Flicking his sword clean of the Psychic Drow Shadowhunter, Tristan deftly maneuvers around the bodies and runs towards the conjurer. Without a sound, he brings it out in front of him. The blade suddenly erupts in light as Tristan channels energy into it, illuminating the street in a purple glow.
Dimitri you launch another bolt at the Invisible Drow Shadowhunter dealing 6piercing damage, killing her. You then hide and feel well hidden.
Tristan you move down the street where you've seen the bolts fling from, and cast light on your saber. As you do, you illuminate the street and out of no where the Conjurer Drow Shadowhunter appears in the middle of the street a few feet away from you.
Conjurer Drow Shadowhunter becoming suddenly visible as the bright light surrounds her looks panicked for a moment, before she draws a rapier with a soft blue glow, and strikes at Tristan with it. Attack: 13 Damage: 6
"Well done, Tristan!" Khessa rushes to help, suddenly thrusting her greatsword into the revealed drow's abdomen as soon as she comes within range.
'Beshaba...' thinks the blonde arcane warrior, as she is about to strike 'Don't you think that, for tonight, you have already been enough time at my side? You know, I think there is a nice party in the uptown... Would you mind leaving me alone and pop over there?'
With everyone focusing their strikes on the Conjouring Drow Shadowhunter after Tristan lit her up, you managed to quickly overpower her. Seeing this, the Crossbow Drow Shadowhunter on the rooftops disappears into the night sky. For the first time in about 3 minutes your section of the road has gotten quiet and you're able to take a breath and recoup. Then the noise comes back to you and you realize the folks down the road at the operating taverns noticed nothing that you've been up to the past couple minutes.
Last you heard, whoever is in charge of this hunt for T'bitha is potentially on their way to you right now and Sergeant Sarah is either dead or captured. At least according to the Crossbow Drow Shadowhunter that just escaped on the rooftop.
Seeing the last shadowhunter disappear in the night without anybody being able to stop him, Khessa shares with her companions: "Damn... I don't like this in the least... He might intercept his boss before he comes to us... On the other hand, what can we do? We can not give chase to someone we can not even see! Shall we simply resume our deceit of T'bitha being held prisoner and wait? Maybe the fugitive fails to find him and warn him, after all, if he his on his way already..."
While waiting for the others' opinions, the blonde arcane warrior hides in the den the new fallen.
She is also curious about this ability to disappear in the dark. Is it an ability of the shadowhunter itself... or is it bestowed on him by his cloak? To investigate this, the tall adventurer tries to don a shadowhunter's cloak and go away from the lights: does she disappear from her companions' sight like the shadowhunter did?
You all watch as Khessa moves towards a dead shadowhunter and snatches a cloak. She attaches the cloak and moves into the darkness. She does not disappear from anyone's sight like the shadowhunters do.
"Oh, well..." is a little disappointed Khessa "We will have to hide using conventional means, like last time. If we decide to setup the ambush again, that is... What do you think, guys? We try and see if the boss finally shows up? Or do you prefer a different course of action?"
T’bitha looks at the surrounding alleyway. “I suppose we could do that. They already know we are in this location, though. I don’t think it would be much of an ambush. I don’t really know, but they’ve attacked us twice now. Surely, they’ll be ready for a third time?”
"It all depends on whether the drow who escaped can now easily find his leader or not" Khessa thinks aloud. "If he can intercept him, then yes, he will warn him of what we did and we won't be able to fool them again. But if the boss is already on his way and the fugitive doesn't find him in time, then the trick might indeed work yet another time..."
"Dimitri? Tristan? Hadi?" the blonde arcane warrior also solicits the opinion of friends who have not yet expressed themselves "What do you prefer? Should we try to make believe that T'bitha has been captured, as before? Or do you have some different ideas in mind?"
"I for one, am not looking forward to yet another fight," Hadi says, adding, "and we don't even know if these others will come for us." Taking a deep breath he then says, "Perhaps we should head to one of those nearby taverns, have a pint, talk to the attractive locals, and wait in a public area where we'll be harder to ambush. I'm sure the same rouse wouldn't work again anyway."
((trying also to give us a good place to wrap things up cleanly))
