“I’ll vouch for you my studious friend. Something is not right here!” Sparhawk pats the fat man gently on the back. We are so worried, we ran up all of these stairs! Please, we need your help!"

“ Well…Okay Mr Orc Sir…you can tell him the Imp made me..”
he shakily puts the key into the door, slowly turns the lock, wincing a bit at each creak of the tumbler as if expecting to be zapped at any moment. Ufeli then slowly opens to door into a hallway leading into the Master’s sacred space…
It is very dark in this space, seems like not even a sparkle of light being admitted anywhere nearby. Ufeli waves his left hand in a few motions, lacking any sense of elegance or coordination and stumbles over some incantations and a small, though sputtering ball of light springs forth in front of him. He was just about to exclaim his excitement at the achievement when the ball sputters out and he sighs.

Lir is still curious about their would-be guide - was he just anxious about intruding on his master's space, or anticipating from negative outcome for the party who walked in without care.

You feel there might be a bit of both. There is definitely a sense of fear of retribution, and likely he knows the Master plays with dangerous toys.
As you step in and the dark vision folks let their eyes adjust you see you are in this hallway with the first junction to the left and a door way near then end and another opening to the left just before the door that you cannot quite tell
There are sounds to be heard, creaks, groaning of wood or metal. You can feel a gentle and subtle movement of the floor/ tower as you realize this high up the structure might move a little. Every so often you feel like you here a bit of a whisper, like words you can’t quite pick up they are so quiet..seems more than one voice.
As you call down the hallway, you voice echos and adds to the whisper.
Ufeli will call out hesitantly “ Master Abernath….are you ok? The Imp made come in to find you with these folks…” his voice weakly tapers off and you can see his unease is growing.
"Where would your master be Ufeli?" Sparhawk says gently but confidently. He starts to proceed forward carefully. (to first door, unless Ufeli gives other directions)
Bjorn lights up a torch. "Where are all the lights..?"
"If he uses this place regularly, it's likely not trapped beyond the entrance. But we know he was working with some horrible kind of monster summoning, so there could be something lurking."

“ every time I have come in here it’s been from a different entrance, so the floor never looked the same twice. I believe the room straight down this hall might be good.” He says, and then waits for someone to go first
” the master loves to play pranks…I believe he is the best pranked that ever have lived….turned me into a worm once….a worm! Worst day of my life….”
“Are we able to use magic up here? And if so, does your Master have any distinct items he keeps on his person?”
“ You know magic? “ he says with half unbelieving look.
” you should be able to. Only the greeting area is warded against it as far as I am aware. Master Abernath will be instantly recognizable, but in particular he likes his bug staff….he can use it to conjure giant bugs, or lots of little bugs…he has great fun with that..”
"Agreed. It shouldn't be this dark... And did anyone else hear that?" Bjorn summons Aegweth as a longsword, which gleams obnoxiously in the torchlight.

Sparhawk moves a bit faster, not wanting to give Frangiotter time to consider his orcish ear a delicacy.

Sparhawk puts forth is diving sense and uses his darkvision to try to see what he can.
“anybody see anything”
”Master Abernath?”
Frangipani jumped off Sparhawks shoulder and scurried into the darkness, whiskers quivering and ears alert.

Eberk steps into the darkness and lets his eyes focus before scanning the room for signs of life.

(Ooh, love the atmosphere)

Frangipani shifted back to her humanoid form, " Bugs are fun...they're like shellfish but more savoury..."
Sparhawk considers, “Eberk, locate object if we need it? Let’s keep moving forward. Something is not right here”
