He flips the radius so it spreads out from the party, covering the circling Mephits of mud and steam.

All but one steam Mephit is destroyed by the swarm of locusts, each one exploding in swath of hot steam. Everyone except for Frangipani make 4 dex saves dc or take 8, 2, 6, 8 added together in fire dmg
Mud Mephit1 similarly explodes showering Sparhawk with more sticky mud, but since your already stuck, you just make a save at the end of your turn to move. The other 4 mud Mephits are greatly reduced, their bodies perforated with thousands of tiny holes. #2&3 still seem put together, but 4&5 are barely a form
The insect bitten, scorched, covered in sticky mud (and feathers) captain grins in some discomfort, "Yes Lir. Its going great. Keep killing the bad guys!"
