Garth tilts his head to left and to right then loosens his shoulders before lifting his shield into position. He glances back to his companions then up to the orc.
"How about you hand over your prisoner and then we decide if we'll let you go?"
He rakes his eyes over the goblins and adds, "We have no fight with you. Your friends are dead -- all except Tark -- who wisely chose not to attack us."

"You are running out of minions, Sawtooth", Salamir calls across as he moves to behind the Stalagmite for cover.
"My friend here speaks words of wisdom, give up the prisoner and perhaps you will all survive long enough to move on and find gainful employment as farmers or some such", he adds as he reaches the stalagmite and conceals himself behind it.
“Farmers? Hah! Boys, walk over there and show them your farming tools. How about you all drop your weapons and then we will talk, perhaps you have some gold for me and you can leave here with your lives!” Sawtooth stands and motions his guards forward, they warily move about 15 feet forward, keeping a close eye on you.
Dirak, down in the pit looks up at you and says “Don’t believe it, he’ll kill you! Help me out of here!” He puts his arms on the side of the mud pit but cannot gain a hand hold to come up, he appears too weak to do so.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
The goblins pause as they hear Salamir’s words, considering, but then they look back to Sawtooth and his giant ravenous rats and they continue forward slowly, two north of the pit and two south. Sawtooth still holds his giant rats back, but reaches back and grabs a couple of javelins, starts to walk down the steps to his “throne.”
((One goblin at roughly F4 and F5, the others at F6 and F7.))
Salamir stays silent now he is concealed from view of Sawtooth, the goblins and giant rats, waiting for one of them to pass by his location and watching what his allies do in the meantime.
For now he ignores Dirak's pleas, he would have to break cover to assist the Dwarf.
“Goblins, you’re driven by fear of your supposed leader are you not? Serve him or he kills you? Lay down your arms and leave this place in peace and we won’t harm you…” (I’m holding my action to cast sleep if they continue to get closer.)
((It is about 30 feet into the corridor before it turns left and bends toward the north.))
The goblins seem to ignore Javier, nervously looking back toward the rats and sawtooth. They continue to fan out above and below the pit. Sawtooth, leading his pet rats, walks forward slowly another 15-20 feet, trying to convince you to surrender, or parley.
“C’mon now, don’t make me hurt you. If I have to fight you, I’m sure that I’m gonna hurt you. 100 gold, and you all live. What do you say?”

Garth backs away down the corridor a little, "I'll need to confer with my friends."
"Don't want to get surrounded out in the open, then peppered with arrows," he whispers to those nearby as he readies his bow. Still speaking in low tones he adds, "If we take down the orc, the others may fold. All except the rats, anyway."

Salamir continues to wait hidden behind the stalagmite, his rapier held upright close to his body as he presses against the rock. He relies on his hearing to try and determine where the goblins, rats and Sawtooth are.
Salamir they continue to walk forward and you feel that your position will be compromised soon. There are currently 2 goblins at H4 and 2 goblins at H6. Sawtooth continues walking forward as well, still holding his pet giant rats. They are at around F4. He’s looking down the hall where the other members of the party went, getting a idea of the numbers and assessing the threat. He holds a javelin in his hand.
(Salamir is behind the stalagmite at I3. Garth is down the corridor leading into the room. Where are Hlin and Javier? Belkaria followed Garth.)
Sawtooth bellows out, “Time’s up. Do we have a deal? Either that, or Skiv and Reech here get a nice meal…”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
As Sawtooth says "Time's up" the sound of a bow straining followed by a low thrum can be heard as an arrow flies from the corridor toward the orc.
"So be it," says Garth, then turns to the goblins nearby, "Choose wisely."
Once he has let the arrow fly he drops his bow and draws his sword, shrinking against the edge of the corridor and trying to use whatever cover (if any) that is available. He does not enter the cavern.

If possible Javier would cast sleep on the goblins since they kept moving forward. 22. He would be right next to the rock at about H4 on the map. If not this will happen on his turn with a bonus action to have Olive give Salamir advantage with the help action.
Garth's eyes narrow, considering the offer as he sheathes his sword.(( @DM: How far away are they all? ))(( nvm -- map appeared! ))
((The first goblins are around 60 feet away. Giant rats 70 feet. Sawtooth 80-90 feet away.))
