Not wanting to risk hitting either Bosko or Sunita as they approached the end of the center and right planks, Alyndra let fly the Ice Knife she had been holding towards the skeletal figure that had stumbled after Lazarus mocked it. "They can only come one at a time as long as we stop them on the planks!"
Attack: 17 Damage if it hits: 6 Piercing + 5 Cold = 11 DC 14 Dex save or creatures within 5 feet take 10 cold damage
Watching the invasion unfold, Alyndra delivers a follow up attack on the first skeleton on the left side. Her spell hits the undead pirate and then explodes in a blast of icy shards. The initial hit is enough to kill the one that Larazus had affected, and the now finally dead pile of bones drops off the plank into the ocean below. However, the one just behind it moves with surprising speed and avoids being hit by the ensuing blast.
The sailors let out a momentary cheer when they watch you dispatch with the skeletons so quickly, but it's a short lived victory as the pirate corpses begin to stream across the planks. At the left side, the first one runs across in an odd, jerky motion and rushes towards the closest sailor that's somewhat near Lazarus and Markus. The frightened seaman raises his club to defend himself, but his effort is futile, and the skeleton cuts him down with his jagged longsword.
The second and third one step off the plank and onto the ball bearings. You watch as they both stumble, slip and then falls prone onto the deck of the Sea Spirit. Two of the other sailors converge on the fallen pirate corpses and begin bashing at it with their clubs. Two other sailors rush forwards and begin furiously bashing at the pirate that killed their fellow crew member. Their club attacks don't look quite harsh, but they do seem effective. Seeing his crew in trouble, the captain and the boson rush over to help their crew members and with a deft sword slash, the captain cuts to pieces the one that killed the sailor.
Over at the center plank, the second skeleton in line rushes up to face Bosko, swiping and stabbing at the bugbear with its ancient, but still sharp blade. (Attack: 21Damage:5). Bosko takes the hit, but the melee proves to be an effective block against letting any more across on this middle plank.
At the edge of the right hand plank, the same kind of thing ensues: the Skeleton that's currently engaged with Sunita slashes at her with a sword that shows more rust than steel. (Attack: 23Damage:3). Again, Sunita stands her ground as she feels the pain of the blade and effectively blocks any more from coming across right now.
The rest of the crew watches the invasion unfold with weapons drawn, obviously frightened, but ready to jump in when more come across.
Ok, next round. 3 Skeletons dead, one the left plank is unguarded, with more about to cross. The middle plank is blocked by Bosko, and the right plank by Sunita.
Bosko grimaces and growls as the sword cuts through his fur, but stands firm. He is determined that none of the skeletal pirates will cross this plank.
He once again swings his right hand, the claw likes blades aiming for the chest of the pirate that hit him.
He follows this by bringing his left claw up in an upper cut aiming at it’s belly.
“Dead shall not board ship!”, he repeats louder.

Lazarus watched as the skeletons were beginning to drop, the one he had used his spell on taken down by none other than his wife which brought a toothy grin his his lips. He looked around and watched too late as a sailor would be struck down. "Sh*t!" He would curse as it was something he was avidly trying to avoid. He watched as the other sailors would come down on the undead and seemingly destroy it. He would look to the planks and for the time, Bosko and Sunita had them covered and their damages would seem manageable.
He would turn his attentions to the last plank and reach into his pouch, placing a bit of wychwood onto his blade and then pointing it toward the unguarded plank. "Let's make sure our guests aren't trying to sneak around." He would then cast his Dancing Lights as a trail of lights would appear at the center of the plank, and then another closer toward the ghost ship and another just above it.

Alyndra winces as one of the sailors was all too easily felled by one of the undead and focuses back on the left most plank that she and Lazarus were in front of. Moving hesitantly closer to attempt to block it off, she squinted through the fog with the aid of the Dancing Lights and concentrated five feet back the nearest figure she could see making its way over the plank and command, "Come no further!" Before whispering under her breath, "Magnificare Gravitas." Making a motion with her left hand to Magnify Gravity while her right unsheathed the dagger from her left hip.
DC 14 Constitution Saving throw or speed halved and 11 force damage.
Using her husband's Dancing Lights as a visual guide, Alyndra casts her Magnify Gravity spell and watches as the force of the transmutation crushes the lead skeleton that's crossing the left plank. You can hear the snaps and cracks as the creature's bones break and it crumples to the wood before falling into the water. Behind it, you see another, who also seems to take damage from the spell. From your vantage point, it's hard to tell if there are any more behind that one.
From his position, Markus tries to hit one of them with a fire bolt, but his aim is a little bit off, and his attack misses the target.
Meanwhile, the skeleton that had fallen, and was subsequently attacked by the sailors, gets up and lashes out and kills another crew member with a bloody gash of its jagged, rusty sword. Once again, the captain and his bosun join the charge as they, along with a couple of the other sailors manage to bring it down.
On the middle plank, Bosko continues to stand firm at the edge of the board, as he slashes at the next skeleton in the line, managing to break through its defenses with one of his attacks. Leaning into the bugbear with the combined push of the one behind it, the skeleton tries to shove Bosko out of the way so that they can continue across. (Bosko needs to match DC14 Athletics check, or be be shoved back 5 feet.)
Over on the right hand plank, Sunita continues to hold her ground against the skeletons as she lashes out with her own blades and digs into the bony carcass. As with Bosko, she feels the weight of the combined push as the skeletons lean into her, trying unsuccessfully to knock her out of the way. Leaning in with all her might, Sunita is able to resist the push and she stands her ground.
As the fight intensifies, you all remain focused on the undead invaders that are attempting to board the ship, when something else catches your eye... as you look up, you see an eerie, spectral, ghostly figure emerge from the depths of the fog and float across the gap about ten feet up in the air near the rear of ship. It wields no weapons, but the shadowy figure appears to be dressed in what looks like centuries old, rotten pirate garb. It flies through the air right over and attacks the first mate, who tries to defend himself, obviously terrified.
Ok, next round everyone. 5 skeletons down, two injured, and more streaming across... plus this new thing.
The weight of the push is too much for Bosko to hold with his awkward footing. When he gets shoved off the plank, three of the skeletons rush across and spill onto the deck. The bugbear is able to land a hit on one of them, but not before it attacks and brutally cuts down another crew member: a young, but tough red haired woman who everyone liked and called “Salty."

Sunita risks a glance behind her and she blanches as the sailors hit the ground, " NO!"
Her vision blurs for a second and she is back in a very different place.....bodies hit the floor....rent and torn and ruined....Klaus reaches out for her...
She shakes her head as bony claws reach for her face, desperately she pushes her blades at it.
" Magecraft on the ghost! I doubt blades will harm it!"
She stabbed hard at the skull before her, tears streaming down her face and lip bloody from where she had bitten into it....
Lazarus would turn to see his comrades starting to get pushed back and would pause as he felt a sudden chill run up his spine. His attention would turn toward the appearance of a ghostly figure and then Sunita speaking of magic being the most obvious thing to take it down. He would look around and then run over toward Bosko and the skeletons that rushed passed him. "I'm great but I'm not the hurty hurt kinda magic man. More of a make you feel good kinda man." He would say aloud to Sunita and the rest of the group.
He would draw his rapier back and thrust at a skeleton that had taken down another of the crew "And these fu*^ers keep ruining that feeling!" He glanced back to Bosko and would speak aloud. "Hey! I think our clan has to be stronger than a couple o bones! Give em a little more umph Bosko!" He would coat his words in positivity and magic to give Bosko a bit of Bardic Inspiration.
Rapier Attack: 18+4= 22 [DAM: 3]
Bardic Inspiration on Bosko = As a bonus action, a creature (other than yourself) within 60 ft. that can hear you gains an inspiration die (1d6). For 10 minutes, the creature can add it to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw. This can be added after seeing the roll, but before knowing the outcome.
Despite her fear about this new spectral enemy who just appeared, her determination and skill prevails, and with deft sword work, Sunita finally dispatches with the first skeleton on her plank as she drives the point of her sword through into its skull. She yanks it back out as the undead pirate clatters to the wood and falls into the foggy ocean below.
Meanwhile, Lazarus imbues Bosko with is bardic inspiration, which give the bugbear a renewed sense of hope, having just been pushed backwards by the enemy.

Seeing sailor being cut down left and right literally, Alyndra frantically looked around for any sort of advantage. But when she saw the spectral figure floating over the gap onto their ship. Nodding at Sunita's advice she called out, "Darauf! Er, On it!" Maybe this thing was what had raised these skeletons and was puppeting them. If all they had to do was defeat it to get them to stop that would be a blessing. Rushing within range, the half elf glared at the ghostly pirate and intoned, "Mens impetum." No outward showing of the Mind Sliver that she had just cast but the specter should be feeling it regardless. Moving closer to the first mate that was being attacked she advised, "Get away from it unless you can use magic."
DC 14 Intelligence saving throw or it takes 5 psychic damage and has to subtract 1 from the next saving throw it makes before the end of Alyndra's next turn.
Amidst the frantic chaos of the battle, Alyndra concentrates on the spectral figure and speaks the words of her cantrip. Immediately, she sees as the figure recoils and twists its head in an obvious sign of torment, which seems to enrage the creature even further... if its indeed possible to enrage something that's not even living.
Markus casts his fire bolt and watches it slam into the floating, undead pirate, although the creature seems to hardly be affected by the spell attack.
It lashes again at the terrified first mate, who, upon hearing the warnings from Alyndra and Sunita, tries desperately to get away from the creature. Fortunately, he's able to escape without being hit by this strange, horrible spirit and he rushes away and flees towards the middle of the ship, where the captain is located. However, the floating creature follows and hovers over towards the captain, who attempts to stab and slash at it with the sword he's wielding in both hands.
On the left plank, you watch as one more undead creature lumbers across the gap and onto the Sea Spirit. However, this one is less skeletal like; it wields no weapon and appears more "zombie" like, with the rotting remains of its flesh still hanging onto its body. After crossing, it lurches towards towards some of the sailors, who watch the approach with a new sense of fear. The zombie thing lashes out towards one of them, but fortunately, the rotting corpse is slow and the crew member is easily able to recoil and avoid being slammed by the thing.
Meanwhile, three of the skeletons continue to terrorize the crew. One kills another sailor, one injures the boson, and one stabs at Bosko, but the bugbear easily parries his defenses. In addition, another zombie thing appears on the middle plank and begins to cross.
On the right plank, the skeletons continue to push hard, trying to shove Sunita out of their way. (DC 16 to withstand the push.)
Ok, next round. Everyone can go.
((3 skeletons, one of them injured, one zombie and the spectral pirate captain on the main deck. One zombie approaching on the middle plank. Sunita is trying to hold her ground on the right plank, where 3 skeletons remain, the one closest to her is injured.))

Sunita was tumbled to the ground and as she fell she looked around at the blood slicked deck, the bodies...the screams....and she was back there again.....
....the oily, black-stained hood and cloak a full ten to twelve feet in height, beneath the hood she glimpsed a sagging open jaw, sharp broken teeth, and pale dirty skin weirdly twisted to look like some sort of horrifying mockery of a human face as its bladed arm ripped Klaus in two. Beside it the dark angel fell open Rose and stilled her sweet voice forever.....behind her she heard the fiend break Orlows back across its knee........she cowered on the floor....her breath ragged...
She heard a voice....Rose?.....no, not Rose....Alyndra! Alyndra and Bosco and Markus and Lazarus! The crew!
She lashed out blindly around her, a primal scream ripping itself from her throat.....she fought the dead now....she would not fail again...
Sunita rose back to one knee her blade slashing about her to try and drive the dead things back.....her heart hammering in her chest as the ghosts of the past faded again....
As she’s shoved to the ground, Sunita watches as the three skeletons rush off the plank past her and onto the ship. The last one stops, towering over her with an eerie, haunting, yet completely blank visage, and brings its broken sword down towards her head. She responds in time to successfully party the attack with her own blade, but the exertion takes its toll and saps some of her strength. (3 hp damage.)
Quickly getting up, Sunita lashes out with a furious attack of her own, and destroys the undead menace before it can do any more harm. Its now lifeless collection of old bones topples to the deck.
However, as she glances back towards the plank, she sees one more creature about to cross… another rotting zombie thing with numerous hunks of disgusting, torn flesh and viscera that swing from its limbs and torso as it lumbers forward.
