As directed by the captain Sunita begins to lay out the dead muttering a short badly remembered prayer to the Dawn Father as she did so.
Though gladdened to see all her companions alive she could not meet their gazes, she had come within a whisper of losing those depending on her yet again and her failure to adequately protect them weighed heavily....
Bosko finds Diego in his cabin; when the attack began, he was instructed to stay inside and lock the door. He complied, and so he had no idea what actually happed up there on deck. He inquires as to what kind of trouble there was that caused the alarm.
Up on deck, as Sunita helps a couple of the members as they stoically, but sadly wrap the bodies of their three fallen companions, the rest of the sailors ready the oars. Within a minute after the order was given, the Sea Spirit begins to lurch forward through the still water. The fog is still as thick as soup, and it still hangs over the ship with a menacing, oppressive air, but after a few strokes, you begin to see distance grow between you and the ghostly pirate ship before it disappears into the mist and slips out of your sight.
As the boat goes away, Markus will aim for the ghost ship and shoot a fire bolt at it, with the hope of sending it in the depths for good. With the oil already present on its deck, it shouldn’t be too hard to lit it up.
« Might be better this way, it won’t come back for more »
Alyndra watches disconcertedly as the armored captain simply took the missiles without a flinch before staring their ship down and diving into the ocean. "That...does not bode well." Especially as they waited and he didn't seem to make any further noise or appear to be climbing up the side of their own ship...yet. Turning to cling to Lazarus in a desperate hug to reassure herself that they were both alive, she inadvertently ended up jostling one of the arrows sticking out of the Firbolg and she cursed, drawing back quickly, "Sorry honey, sorry. We've got to get those out of you somehow." Reaching up to touch the blood soaked jacket just next to one of the arrows before wincing as the motion prompted a twinge of pain from her own back. "I know you just healed me, but you need to heal yourself once we get those out if you have any reserves left." Mistakenly thinking that her husband had revived her, since she had been unconscious at the time.
Glancing over at Bosko as he noted their group's collective survival, the half elf nodded. None of them had managed to get out of the fight unscathed. Markus looked gaunt though she could not outwardly see any wounds on the man. It didn't seem to stop him from trying to explore the unsettling ship at least. "You heard the Captain Markus, let's go." Feeling as if they couldn't get away from it fast enough. As the Captain mentioned that they would be putting some distance between the ghost ship and themselves before giving the fallen sailor a burial at sea, she murmured quietly to the Captain, "It wouldn't be a bad idea for someone to watch over the bodies until we do. ...Just in case."She wasn't familiar with necromancy so didn't want to risk the possibility of any of the deceased crew rising again when nobody was looking and causing further chaos. Speaking of which....
Once Markus and Bosko rejoined, Alyndra nodded to the bugbear. "That's good to hear. If something happened to Diego I can't imagine that we would have gotten paid. I think that that undead wearing the armor, the archer? Might be coming back at some point. I don't believe the dead need to breathe, or at least I don't imagine they would, so I worry that that fellow is somehow following us in the water or even clinging to the bottom of our ship, waiting for the right moment to strike."She dropped her voice lower when she got to her concerns, not wanting to spook the rest of the crew. Squeezing Lazarus' hand, the brunette meets Sunita's gaze and asks hopefully, "I don't suppose you know how to safely get arrows out of someone? I've got a pinch of medical knowledge, but more about what to concoct to help someone rather than bodily knowledge."The way she holds herself it is apparent that the woman is in pain, not standing up straight as she had before, though she kept it out of her expression fairly well.
"Yes, rest will do good. We watch", Bosko confirms.
He reaches up and touches his necklace, barely seen around his neck due to his long fur. He closes his large palm and mumbles some words in Sylvan, then after a few seconds he opens his palm again.
"Each take two, make you feel better. Little bit", he says to the others.
Once they had each taken some, he will eat one himself and put the remaining one in his pouch, before heading to the back of the ship to keep an eye out for anything following them.
Bosko and Sunita keep watch up on the deck, while the rest of you go below to get some much needed rest down in the cargo hold. A few of the sailors are also down there, sleeping soundly before they need to return to work. The rest of the crew have returned to their regular duties aboard the ship. By now, the fog has started to dissipate, and soon Bosko and Sunita are able to see the stars above them in the sky, which is now completely clear. A slight breeze has also returned, and so the main sail has been raised, which has allowed for a return to steady movement through the water once again.
The captain remains stoic as ever, manning his post behind the ship's wheel, with his eyes glued to the sea and the surrounding skies, while his first mate and bosun attend to their navigational and supervisory duties. They both see quite nervous and remain quiet, but at one point both of them give you two a solemn nod of thanks.
The first part of the night passes without incident, and all is quiet on the open seas of the Lucidian Ocean, and before long, it's getting past midnight.
Lazarus would watch all this unfold before him, almost putting the pain he was in out of his mind as it was mainly just a throbbing at this point. It wasn't until his beloved laid her hands on him that he felt his body shoot with pain and his teeth clench tightly as to make sure he didn't yell. His eyes wide and after taking a moment to remember just HOW to breath, he would look down at her. No matter the situation, if he was hurt, she would find out where and poke, prod and irritate it so he would not forget.
"I...I love you...know that I love you...so much..." He would say though his teeth. He would look over to the crew as everyone was starting to go on about what it was they should do with the bodies and Lazarus would help in throwing the undead overboard. He knew just enough that things being undead tended to not stay dead. He would leave the arrows in him till he was told that they would be best pushed through. He winced at the thought. Dealing the damage and taking it was one thing, this was... slower and caused him a greater deal of fright.
He would take the two berries from Bosko and start toward the lower deck "I second the motion. Wake me when its time for a shift change. Thanks for the meal bud!" He would go down into where they had placed their things and would begin to break away the arrow from the end. He wondered just how they had come to fight undead on their first group outing but maybe it was the worst out of the way and it would be smooth sailing from then on out.
"Wishful thinking." He would say to himself as he got to his bunk and let himself down. He would pop a berry into his mouth as he would cover his eyes with his arm.
Bosko acknowledges the nod of thanks from the first mate and the bosun with a smile and a tip of his tricorn hat.
"You know Sunita, you fight good. Fight brave", he says at one point as the hours roll by.
"Those almost deads very scary things. Most people afraid, run. Not you", he adds.
He sweeps his long arm about indicating the whole ship and everything on it. "People die. Is sad. But look at how many live. We did good", he continues punching her on the arm in a far more gentle motion than anyone would guess the big bugbear was capable of.
"Glad you came. Hope you not regret", he says finally with a nod.
Despite the healing powers of the berry, and the sound advice about how to remove arrows, Lazarus still finds it to be excruciatingly painful to actually push the shafts through this body. He manages to successfully extricate them, but not without some painful wincing and blood, which he's able to clot with adequate pressure. Despite the numbing pain, though, he's able to fall asleep for a few hours.
Laying down next to her husband, feeling a little bit bruised and battered, and trying to get the vividly horrible memory of the zombie standing right over her out of her mind, Alyndra also finds that the comfort of sleep comes quickly.
Markus, on the other hand has a much more fitful night. He feels cold and weak, chilled to the bone, despite the excessively warm, humid air that permeates the lower hold with a mixture of heat and body odor. He has trouble falling asleep, and keeps waking up after experiencing lucid dreams of the undead specter trying to drag him towards the darkness with its bony hands. In his dreams, Markus fights with every bit of dwindling energy that he has, and fortunately, keeps waking up before he reaches the void. Eventually, though he's able to drift off into a deeper sleep as his subconscious mind tries to push out the terrible visions that keep stealing his desperately needed rest.
Up on deck, Bosko and Sunita continue to keep watch through the deepest hours of the night. Fortunately, they don't spot any signs of danger as the ship sails quietly through the darkness under the stars, following a path that's referenced by the constellations. Eventually, they both begin to tire from being up so long, which is compounded by the massive bursts of energy they spent during the fight, and they find their eyes starting to droop.

" No....I've faced far worse things than the dead before."
She smiled slightly at Bosko, " Yes, we did good. You fought very bravely as well, as did the others......they looked very much worse for wear though. We'll have to keep them behind us more in the future."

Sunitas eyes closed and she unconciously found herself snuggling her head into the big furry pillow beside her......her dreams were, for once, relatively peaceful....
Bosko tries his best to stay awake, but his eyelids start to droop and he comes to the decision it is a futile effort. As he is about to get up to head below decks, when he realises Sunita has fallen asleep on him, and he looks a little perplexed for a few moments. His eyes moving back and forth, as if seeking to find someone to ask what he should do.
With a frown on his face, he contemplates for a moment before deciding that the Captain and the other sailors would be able to keep watch. After what they had been through he knew the whole crew were on high alert.
In the lower hold, Lazarus, Alyndra and Markus all eventually fall into deep sleeps, and when they wake up, there is no apparent sense of how much time is passed, since there are no windows or portholes in this part of the ship. However, all three of you feel rather rested; even Markus, who broke a sweat sometime during the night. He wakes feeling much more lively, with his energy restored, and the weighty chill and feelings of weakness and dark dread seem to be gone from his body. (He's back to full original HP.)
Lazarus and Alyndra both feel refreshed, and the pain from their woulds has mostly disappeared, although Larazus still feels slight discomfort from the scabs where he pushed through the arrows.
Up on deck, Bosko wakes up and realizes that he's sitting with his back against the rail, with Sunita's head resting against his shoulder. They both fell asleep and enjoyed a deep restful slumber. A minute later, Sunita stirs and her eyes open to the bright sunlight. Judging the sun's position, you would guess to be sometime late morning.
One of the sailors walks by and sees that you have woken up and he says with a smile, "Mornin' sleepyheads!! I din't want ta wake you, as you seemed so comfortable, all nuzzled up together!"
"Well, that was eventful" Markus says while sitting down to grab a bite. "I hope we won't have to cross path with these undead anymore." Markus shows a black mark on his shoulder "The spectre wounded me, I thought I was about to die, like if my life essence was stolen. But I feel better now, seems like it was temporary only."
Markus then ask around the sailors and the captain to see if they need some help and how much time till they reach destination.

"Boss wise to stay in cabin", Bosko replies. "Safe now, but dead walked. Clan survived, protected. Did what could. Some not so lucky", he adds.
Happy that Diego had survived, for his well being and for their pay day, Bosko makes his way back up on deck.
"Diego ok", he says simply.
He heads to the bow of the ship, hoping to see an end to the mist.

" Lets put as much distance between us and that hulk as possible....", Sunita says bitterly.
She then heads over to Alyndra to make sure she is recovering after her collapse.

Although Markus is not physically hurt, he welcomes the gift and eat one of the berries. What A nice feeling of having a full belly.”thank you Bosko”.
But his tiredness is still there. “A good night sleep is what I need “.
he gives his second berry to a injured sailors and go have a rest.

He thinks for a moment, "Wonder what today will bring".
