A cool breeze drifts across Flora Isle, mingling the sweet scent of flowers with the salty tang of the Lucidian Ocean as you all make your way from the docks towards the mainland of this small peninsula. You instantly see why this place such a favorite vacation spot for visitors from the Menagerie Coast. You see the Riptide Inn and Tavern up at the head of the beach and an assortment of well-tanned locals who play on the beach, while sunburned visitors sit in wicker chairs and sip cold drinks. A half-dozen nearly naked shark hunters preparing to compete in the annual tournament stand in the shallows on the south shore, armed with harpoons and their wits.
Bosko heads off the boat having also left the collection of their pay to one of the others. It is good to be on dry land again, although it was hardly the forests he finds most familiar.
"Happy to look with others", he says as Alyndra suggests they stay together for a while. "Guess all have enough for own room at inn now", he says as they make their way to the Riptide.
As he spots the shark hunters preparing he gets distracted and even a little excited. "Look, they almost ready to start hunt. Need check out what it about", he says and starts to rush across.
He turns back to the others. "Anyone else come?", he calls before spinning around and carrying on towards the south shore.
When he gets close he looks for any signs explaining the hunt, and if he sees none, he will look for someone official looking. Failing that he will just go up to one of the competitors.

Sunita took in the locals and the shark hunters, " Well...I'm definitely overdressed....you think theres a decent view from the Riptide?"

Lazarus would watch as the land grew closer and his body starting to grow heavy with the want to get back to dry land or any land for that matter. It wasn't until the thought of shark catching would come to his ears to which he would take in a deep breath, almost sickening with the sea air as it filled his nose and lungs.
He would walk with his beloved as she they would be given their payment and Lazarus would take the gold with little complaints with both his own and hers together. He figured that when it would come down to it, he could hash out the gold as needed for the both of them and if need be, others if it really came down to it. He would pocket the coin into his pouch and the weight was a nice feel.
Bosko would take off in excitement as he seemed most interested in the idea of shark catching and Lazarus would look to his wife. "I'd be amiss if I said I wasn't interested." He would give her the pouch of his money. "Just make sure that we have room for later and either check out the area or come out and see what all this hub bub is about." He would then turn around and start out after Bosko with a hand in the air "I'll see what all this is about too!"
Inquiring at the Riptide Inn and Tavern, you find that they do have space available in the common bunk room, although all of the private rooms have been booked. You also discover that the shark hunting tournament is an annual event, and the participants have been practicing all year for year's contest. Unfortunately, entry is now closed, as one must apply months in advance. Still, it's quite a spectacle to see, with these fit men and women ready to test there mettle and skills with one of the primary predators of the sea.
There are many spectators lined up on the beach, although there is still plenty of room to watch. You do get a few look from people, being way more overdressed than nearly everyone here, who is stripped down to summer beach attire and in some state between lightly tanned and sunburned.
The competitors all line up with their harpoons at the ready, and then when the signal is given, you watch them rush towards the froth, dive into the breaking waves along the shore and begin swimming out towards the deeper water in search of some shark prey. Of course, the crowed cheers wildly at this furious start to the competition, but as the hunters disappear into the surf, most folk calm down and get back to simply enjoying their relaxing time on the beach with sippy drinks.

Sunita strips off her armour and, borrowing a needle and thread from the desk, fashions something approaching beach attire from some of her bedroll and clothing.....her companions and anyone else looking can see a large area of deep parallel scars across her torso and back. She hits the bar then the beach...
On the last leg of the travel, Markus threw himself in the tinkering of his little gadgets and did not see the time pass. After a while, he notices more sounds coming from the deck , singing from the closest tavern and seagull fighting for food. Markus realises with surprise that the ship has docked since the morning. He grabs his bags and tries to find his companions. Following the cheers from the crowds, he founds his new friends and watches this annual event.
"Ah, here you are. I am sorry, I was focussed on tinkering"
He then pays a couple of copper for some local fried food that looks like octopus and sits, watching the competition.

Bosko doesn't hide the disappointment he feels when he finds out he cannot join the shark hunt. He simply takes off his coat and hat and slumps onto the beach, watching the hunters disappear into the surf.
"Well", he grumbles, "shame it is".
He spots the scars on Sunita's back as she hits the beach, but simply looks sheepish and doesn't mention it.
"Markus, you enough share?", he asks hopefully as he spots the food the tinkerer is eating.
The longer he sits on the beach, the hotter he becomes. There is no chance of sunburn, what with a fur, but it doesn't make for a cooling experience.
He looks about for anyone selling drinks or anything cool along the beach.
Eyebrows shooting up as both shares of their money were foisted on her hands, Alyndra looked up at her husband with an incredulous expression but he was already too focused on catching up with Bosko and entering in the shark hunting competition. Huffing a sigh, the half elf waved and headed in the direction that their sailor friends had said an inn likely would be. While it was extremely disappointing that Riptide Inn was pretty much full, it made sense considering the scale of the event. Exiting the Riptide Inn since she doubted they would be likely to refer her to any competition of theirs, Alyndra would look for what she hoped was the most "native" spectator to the event and approach them openly. "Hello, sorry to bother you. My friends and I have only just arrived and I was wondering if you might know of any inns or something around here that might have private rooms still available?"
It was a little bit disheartening when it was told that the event itself was something one had to pre-apply for but he would stand and watch the competitors dive into the water. He would enjoy the crowd and the hype around the event... at least till the last of the competitors disappeared under the waves and everything died down a bit. Lazarus would take in a little breath and look around, seeing that everyone seemed to head in their own directions. This would give him a good idea to try and find a place to perform, maybe make a bit more cash for them to use.
You all mill about as you soak up the heat from the sun, some of you on the beach, and some of you closely at the Rip Tide Inn and Tavern. The competition is kind of at a lull right now, as most of the competitors are out in the surf trying to catch their quarry.
Suddenly, the ground beneath your feet trembles and cracks. Waves a dozen feet high crash into the shore, and the sound of screaming fills the air as a stampede of beachgoers flees the sands. A chorus of shrieks add to the cacophony as shark hunters run from the water, being chased by spear-wielding humanoid creatures with fish-like heads and slick, rubbery skin. Upon initial glance, you see at least four of these strange, aggressive sea creatures that emerge from the water in pursuit of two two shark hunters, a young female half-elf and a male tiefling.
Sunita swore, her armour, shield and main weapon were back in the room. With nothing else for it she slipped out the dagger tucked through the strap around her hip and threw herself in between the female half-elf and her pursuers.
They were living, natural creatures...near as she could tell and her heart was not chilled by them or their like.
" C'mon then, I need a new pair of boots and you've just volunteered."
Lazarus saw very little in the terms of a stage and thought of simply using the beach itself as his but alas, it just didn't have the same Feel. It was while he was lost in this thought that a massive commotion broke through and he snapped his eyes to the ocean.
It was monsters from the deep and they didn't seem too friendly seeing as they were attacking. He would look to Bosko and as he made a remake about the hunter being the hunted, he couldn't help but chuckle. "Ha, right on that. But..." He would look to the monsters as he would brandish his rapier in one hand and reveal his small drum at his side. "I don't think those are sharks. At least, not any ones I've heard about."
Lazarus would begin to lightly tap his drum as he would prepare a spell.
Just as she was attempting to ask someone about better lodging, Alyndra felt the ground shudder and jolt underneath her very feet. Frozen she planted herself as firmly as possible as she wondered aloud, "Earthquake?" Looking towards the shore as she heard screams and green eyes widening at the height of the waves before the broke over dozens of people and then different sort of people emerged with them. The green sea people immediately set about chasing the crowd with weapons and the half elf couldn't help but cry out, "Oh come on!" One peaceful vacation was too much to ask for it seemed. She should've known this deal was too good to be true. Eyes scanning the chaos for her husband and hoping that his height would aid her even as her own hampered her, people running past her now. Well she knew he was right by the water watching the hunting so of course he'd be in the midst of it. "Lazarus! Bosko? Anyone!"Jogging a little closer towards the fishy invaders, Alyndra saw one trying to stab at a tiefling man and she glared at the creature with intensity, projecting her psyche at it in the form of a Mind Sliver. But seeing their wicked weapons gave her pause and prompted her to keep only just enough distance from them to be able to reach them with her spells, not forgetting her brush with death the day before.

Markus, who was sitting and lost in his thoughts, suddenly comes back to reality. He sees these creatures chasing the villagers and decides to jump into the fray. In a swift mouvement, he makes sure that his armour is still in place and grabs his staff. A rapid incantation activates the weapon and in a yellow glow, a bolt of fire is shot at one of the attacker.
“One cannot have a nice afternoon on the beach it seems ! Time to show our skills.” Markus then quickly localise his fellow compagnon and tries to stay close to them.
Despite the overall lazy mood on the beach, Markus snaps back to attention and reacts quickly to the situation and lets loose a fire bolt against one of the strange, attacking aquatic humanoid. His aim is a little bit wide, though, and he watches as the arcane missile sails right by the creature.
One of them continues to pursue the terrified tiefling hunter, stabbing at it with it's spear. However, the hunter is quick on his feet and his adrenaline-fueled agility allows him to dodge and squirm with enough movement to avoid being skewered by the potentially deadly weapon.
Focusing her arcane energy at the same one that's chasing the tiefling, Alyndra projects her Mind Sliver effect, and although it doesn't slow the creature down any, she can tell that it has a minor effect on it.
The monsters from the sea washed onto the beach and began their assault. The one that Lazarus recalled as Markous or maybe it was Markus? He hadn't really conversed with them long enough and his memory wasn't the best. But he would watch as a bolt would shoot through the air and Alyndra's voice would ring out. He figured that the best course of action would be to help out those that needed it at the moment. "Over here honey!" He would then start to tap away on his drum on his hip, letting a small tune drift through the air past the yelling. "Maybe it would be better if some of these beasties took a little nap on the beach." Lazarus used Sleep!
Bosko watches as all his companions run to the aid of those on the beach. He shrugs and shifts his furry form into a run towards the nearest of the sea creatures.
He swings his first bear claw at the creature, using his long reach to stay a little away, but his feet get caught up in the sand and he trips. Righting himself, he then repeats the process with his other bear claw, making sure to plant his feet more firmly this time.
"Not welcome on beach! Not part of rules", he grunts to it as he attacks.
