Alyndra runs onto the deck of the ship and makes sure Lazarus is also safely aboard before she scans the surroundings. Grimacing, she calls out to any sailor that will listen, "As soon as we get everyone onboard, we need to put distance between us and the island! If it's getting pulled down, the gravity well will effect all of the water around and we might be sucked down too!"She may not know the ocean, but she was familiar with gravity. At Bosko's questions she simply shook her head. She had no ideas or clues, only wild conjectures. "Age old vendetta between sea dwellers and the islanders? Maybe they're the landlords and the land people didn't pay rent? Any ideas priest?" She asks of the orange haired young man.
Lazarus holds tightly onto Alyndra's hand as they make it aboard the ship, not really having the heart to watch the sharks make prey of the swimmers. He had no real ranged weaponry and his spells were almost tapped out. He would put his faith in his comrades and simply help those that made it to safety they were on. He would hold onto the railing as then the waters and remaining land began to quake. He would hold onto the railing and then look around, looking for anything that he might be able to get or do in order to increase their chances of making things go faster.
With the latest aftershock, the group of terrified villagers who remain on this side of the channel follow you as you rush towards the docks and board the ship. It's a two-masted caravel with the name Wavechaser emblazoned on its hull, and you would guess that it's capable of carrying up to twenty people, including its crew of six, which pretty much totals everyone on board now, including the 5 of you.
The sailors rush at full speed to get the ship underway, and within a few quick minutes, the ropes are undone from the dock pilings, and the boat beings moving away from the shore, bobbing and rocking with an exaggerated motion from the latest aftershock. For a few brief moments, it seems that the ship might crash back into the docks, but eventually, the waters settle down a bit, and the Wavechaser begins cutting a swift course through the choppy waters of the Lucidian Ocean and away from Flora Isle and the rest of Palma Flora, as the tiny island grows ever smaller on the horizon behind you.
The several refugees from the village are huddled on the deck of the ship, while the crew tends to the vessel. The acolyte Aurelio answers Alyndra, "A vendetta between sea dwellers and islanders? I know not of such a thing, but I suppose it's possible. Clearly, the gods are upset about something, but what that is, I do not know."
As the Wavechaser leaves Flora Isle behind, you and the villagers settle in as the craft heads out into the open ocean, where the waters are much more calm than they were right at the edge of the island. The island refugees have created makeshift shelters from the sun all across the deck of Wavechaser. Those you saved during the raid are here, as well as a handful of others who managed to reach the ship before it left the dock, including Aurelio, the young acolyte.
You also see the crew scattered about the ship: A burly, hairy man is playing a card game with some of the refugees. A half-orc gazes out at the waves, as she smiles at a dolphin leaping through the ship’s wake. She looks towards Bosko when she notices him also looking at the dolphin. "They're fascinating creatures, aren't they? Quite intriguing to watch."
A young male elf with pale-green skin and watery eyes is speaking to a female dwarf with a thick, knotted beard at the ship’s helm. A handsome, muscle-bound human man is flirting with one of the refugees. When his advance is rebuffed, he looks towards Alyndra, giving her a wink, but it's obvious that he knows that she's already taken. That doesn't stop him from interacting with her and her large firbolg husband, who seems to be quite intriguing to the main. "We dodged a close one back there, eh?"
Markus has heard lots of stories about sunken island and sea creatures, but nothing specific that would explain what just happened here. As Sunita keeps watch at the bow, it would seem to her that the danger has passed, at least for now.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
At Aurelio's query about anyone needing healing, Alyndra pushes Lazarus towards the priest, pointing out his wound rather than her own comparatively superficial one. "One of the fish bit him." Pausing for a moment as her husband's wound was assessed and then hopefully healed, the half elf would say, "Thank you. You're a priest of some kind, yes? Your deity didn't give you any insight to this disaster?" She asks this with open curiosity, not attempting to be antagonizing or accusatory.
While her husband is getting healed, the wizard tries to think of what sort of magic could have accomplished such a devastating feat to change Exandria's very landscape. Arcana:19
Seeing the muscular man winking towards her, Alyndra blinked and glanced around, not entirely sure he was gesturing towards her or not and simply stood awkwardly looking to the side as he approached. But once he spoke up, she would simply clear her throat and nod. "Us and about several dozen others."Shifting a little closer to Lazarus she couldn't help but ask, "Did you live on the island?"
"Yes, smart too", he adds tapping his furry temple with a large paw.
He then mutters some words in Sylvan and traces a line across his throat gently with one claw.
Looking across to the dolphins, he calls loudly in a series of clicking sounds, "Greetings sea friends. You know of underwater trouble? Problem with land dwellers?".
He will repeat the question until one of the dolphins responds or it is obvious that they are ignoring him.
By now, most of the island refugees have created makeshift shelters from the sun all across the deck of Wavechaser. They are mostly in a state of shock, though their gratitude toward the you continues, whenever you have a small interaction with any of them. Aurelio continues to make the rounds, mostly comforting those who are still shaken up. Answering Alyndra, he says, "Technically, I am not a priest, I am an acolyte, a junior member of the clergy to our deity, Ioun, the Knowing Mistress. Unfortunately, I am a rather low level member of the church, and so if she did communicate to anyone about this event, it was not to me. As is often said, that sort of knowledge is above my pray grade."
Alyndra and Lazarus
The well-built, handsome man also answers Alyndra, while also offering a nod of camaraderie to her firbolg husband. "No, hail from Port Damali. Been here a few times. Shame, though. It was a keen place where one could drop by and have a bit of fun and relaxation! How about you two, I can gather that you're not from the Isle..what brings you to these parts?
Bosko
As Bosko clicks and addresses the surfing, leaping mammals that follow the ship, one of the dolphins does answer in its cheerful clicking speech. "Not from us! We like land dwellers! Sahaguin ones always causing problems down here!"
With that, the dolphin leaps out of the water in a magnificent arc, before plunging back down and veering away with the rest of its pod.
The half orc watches with keen interest as Bosko talks to the creature it its own language, and then addresses him in a soft voice. "Impressive!! What do they tell you, friend? I am Dajarkal, by he way. Thank you for your help in that fight back at the docks. You and your crew certainly saved our skins."

Sunita and Markus
At one point, the green-complexioned elf, who you realize must be a sea elf, works his way over to Sunita and Markus and says, "I am in great debt to you folk for your assistance in saving us from those horrid sea devils." You realize that he was one of the crew who was caught in the grasp of the giant crab before it was killed. "I am Dillyu... He pauses... before continuing. "I lost my family to a sahuagin raid as a child, so I hate those things a passion that I could never explain. I feared that they would take me too."
Lazarus would look down at Alyndra as she would move him more toward the healer to which he would wince in an almost over dramatic fashion. "Gah, I might need it now! All the makings of a great butcher you do." He would listen to the cleric speak about how he wasn't on the hotline to his miracle benefactor and thus, wasn't in the know about the unnatural disaster. "I mean, can't always have the info we want, when we want it."
He would then turn his attentions to the fresh meat that walked their way and he would look the man up and down as he would tilt his head to the side as if to think for a moment before speaking. "Hey you sexy piece of man meat, I'm surprised the sharks didn't gobble you up when they had the chance. We came out here to see the sights and I'll have to say, the sights are indeed something since we arrived."

Sunita placed a hand on the elfs shoulder, " Brave Heart Dillyu....you were almost crab food today. Is there any drink aboard? Also any idea where we are headed?"
The good looking man answers Lazarus with a laugh. "Well, they almost did! Not the sharks, though, those damned crabs. A bad case of the crabs is never a good thing, especially when it's really big case! I was one of the ones out there fighting for my life, so thanks again to you and your crew for saving us. And you're not such a bad lookin' fellow yourself! You're obviously a hit with this lady here, (Alydra) and I would suspect that she ain't the first one who's tried to get your attention. Seems that she was the lucky one!"
"Yea the sights are especially unusual today. You picked a good time to visit. Where you folks from, anyway?"
Bosko
Dajarkal responds. She has a rather soft spoken voice, and it's obvious to you that she's rather fond of animals. "Well met indeed, Bosko. And the dolphin speaks true. Everyone on the coast, especially those in the smaller villages, knows that sahaguin are often trouble."
"I don't know about these folks, but as for me, I'm member of the crew. From Nicodranis, originally. I joined up on the Wavechaser a week ago. How about you, from where do you hail?"
Sunita and Markus
Dillyu accepts Sunita's gesture with a nod. "Why yes, of course there's drink aboard! What would a ship be without spirits of some kind? I've got a flask right there on my belt. Rum. Can't promise you it's the best you'll ever swill, but it'll do the trick, I'm sure."
The sea elf produces a small metal flask that he offers you before answering the other question. "I don't know for certain where we're headed. That's up to Captain Three Earrings."
Any awkwardness Alyndra might have had at being flirted with dissipated by sheer fond embarrassment by her husband's over the top response. Hiding her face in her hands briefly before smiling up at him, she simply nodded as he was complimented, a hand looped to hang on the inner of his elbow in a close common gesture of theirs.
"I definitely lucked out finding him." Glancing up at Lazarus softly before squeezing his arm. At the question as to their origin she quickly volunteered, "We came from Trostenwald and then to the Menagerie Coast to see the sights as a late honeymoon. From there we became across a job opportunity that was too good to pass up and that after we finished that, we ended up here."
Glancing over at some interesting clicking sounds emanating from Bosko, she tilted her head in curiosity, a faint smile floating about her mouth before focusing back on the muscular man. "Did you end up on Flora Isle because of the festival?"Then something occurred to her and the half elf interjects, "I'm sorry, we didn't mean to be rude. My name is Alyndra Ryder."She withdrew her hand from her husband's arm to hold it out for a shake to the human. She has a small hand but firm handshake, if not strong. After that she would look to Lazarus expectantly for him to introduce himself as well.

Do they have a lot of those in Trostenwald? I've never set foot over the mountain, so I don't know what life over in the Empire looks like. At any rate, welcome to the Menagerie Coast.. the best part of the world, in my opinion, and congratulations on your recent marriage! You sure picked a great place to honeymoon," he adds with a sarcastic laugh.
"Pleased to meet you both, Alyndra. Names Boerth. Yea, we came for the festival. Captain Three Earrings took a keen interest and led us there. Guess it didn't work out like she'd hoped, but you'll have to ask her about that. Now that your job is finished, what are you plans going forward?"
Bosko
Dajarkal responds, "I have heard of the Lushgut Forest, but I have never seen it for myself. I know that the place is home to a druidic order of goblin folk called the Vinewereathed Enclave, who broke free from the influence of theStrife Emperor in favor of a peaceful life devoted to the Wild Mother. Now hat I see you here, I'm guessing that you are one of those folk. Do I speak the truth, Bosko?"
Sunita and Markus
"Yes indeed, how did you guess!! Dillyu responds with a chuckle. "That's exactly why she's called Three Earrings, as I'm sure you'll find out for yourself soon!! And do not fret, my friend. You had the courage to jump into the fray and try to save us, and although two of our crew fell, that was not your fault. We are safe now, enjoying some rather mediocre whiskey, while cruising out on the open sea. How bad is that?"
"If I may ask, where do you two hail from and what brought you to Flora Isle?"

"Do any of you need healing?"
Bosko holds on tight as the small ship is buffeted about by the waves, his large hands finding whatever purchase they can.
As things settle he breathes a sigh of relief.
"Not think am cut out for boats", he says before he shakes his head as Aurelio offers healing.
"I not need heal. Need know why this happen. Do island always just sink? Creatures from sea attack island before?".
He looks out across the sea, trying to find any sign of sea life, perhaps some dolphins following the boat.
