Aided by the curative magic, the eagle opens her eyes. And immediately flaps her wings, trying to flee, but she doesn't have enough strength yet, at least until the healing magic ends to set on, and Dr. A. is able to keep his hold on her, talking and calming her down. Recognizing them she relax and let her body end healing her wounds.
Soon they all hear a voice in their heads
"Goodness thank you for healing me... have you found Thandril? that beast took him.... "
Gorm pauses and waits a beat as the voice is suddenly and unexpectedly in her head. She looks around and sees no danger but also no explanation. "Anyone else just hear... that?" she asks, on guard.
“Ahbut I heard it too!” Dr A says to the party before trying to communicate with the eagle “we’re trying to rescue your friend and are needing to find some weapons to attack the creatures who took Frenevir. Tell me did he get a chance to complete any weapons and perhaps hide them before he was attacked?”
“But of course I can speak.. who do you think he was speaking to when he addressed me? He is not crazy… well… at least not that kind of crazy… “ she arranges some of her feathers before continuing “ He was able to complete the task, was particularly happy with the sword he had forged to you Logan… but when we were leaving the wolves came, surrounded us… cornered us and I think that we would have been able to resist and even beat them but then that beast came. She wasn’t just a lycanthrope. Thandril stabbed her multiple times with his sword, but… it was like she wasn’t ready to die, she kept reviving. A regular lycanthrope you can hurt with silver, or Mithras, fire also works and even normal weapons even if less effective, can harm them… but this one was… different.” The eagle thinks for a moment “Even in her battle rage she didn’t kill him, she beat him uncounscious and took him. I was ready to fly and look for help but she got me… and I fell here…”
"The bird can talk, the lycan is immortal and we still have dragon issues on the back burner," Gorm sums up relaxing her guard a little bit but still looking here and there for trouble or any sign of the weapons.
"My guess" says the eagle "is that they took them if you didn't find them. The fact that they took Thandril makes me think that she would want or need something from him. I mean... she didn't eat him straight away... why not?"
"Some just enjoy torture," Gorm says and immediately regrets it fearing it may have been an indelicate thing to say. She then wonders if she is really worrying about the feelings of an eagle? But surely this is no common eagle... But still. Huh.
Shaking her head to rid herself of the thoughts Gorm turns instead to the others. "With no weapons capable of defeating them we find ourselves in the same situation that got us slinking back here. If these creatures are as invulnerable to our weapons as we've been told then what hope do we have of saving Thandril? I'm all for a good fight but I'm not eager to walk off a cliff..."
”We might still have a chance if we can quickly get to the weapons and equip them before engaging the bull of their forces,” suggests Logan. “Perhaps if you fly over their encampment you might help us figure out where they are keeping the weapons and Thandril,” suggests Logan to the eagle.

"You can count on it" says the eagle in their heads "but it is my understanding that wolves tend to have underground lairs. I could try to go inside and fly if it is high enough... Can you lead me there?"
”Indeed, we know the way,” responds Logan. He heads out and approaches the lair, but he stops before getting in visual range so as not to give them away.

"The wolves seemed pretty quick and agile," Gorm notes. "I do not like the chances of an eagle in the caves no matter the height..."
"So, we're going to go back and try to force our way to the weapons we need in order to fight these things?" she confirms with some question in her tone... But she resigns herself to the course of action since she knows of no better one. "Let's do it then." And with that Gorm follows Logan and returns to the lair...
The group doesn't have any trouble going back to the wolves den.
Peeking from their vantage point they only see two wolves in the entrance now, a few feet away from the proper cavern. They seem to be enjoying the evening sun rays and not on active sentry duty.
"Try to draw them further away?" Gorm asks quietly. "Or take them by surprise quick as possible?" She had little idea of just how to lure them away except for maybe leaving a trail of rations and then somehow trying to draw their attention to such but if there is a way to fight them away from the mouth of the cavern she figures that would be best.
"Perhaps a noise or distraction off to the side, then we can ambush them as they come to investigate," suggests Logan, "Can anyone summon a creature that might look like tasty prey for a wolf? The important thing is not to alert anyone deeper in the cavern. If worst comes to worst, I will go into the mouth of the cavern and do my best to bottle any resistance up in the tunnel."

Dr A starts muttering to himself and ticking things off his fingers before turning back to Logan saying “I might be able to get them to chase our feathered friend here if they want to act as a decoy?”

Logan:
"That sounds good to me," responds Logan. He looks for a good place to set an ambush and prepares himself. "Lure the wolves out here, if you would, Doctor A," he says.

((What's the plan? Using the eagle as bait? How far would the wolves chase something that can just fly away?))
