Nyral nods towards man as he replies. The drow seems to think on it as they reply "Dedicated. That's a good word for focusing on work only. As for me, I said before to help a friend I know here. I know you want more. I don't want to say who. At least not yet. I will say I am worried they might be a target too. So, I got involved. For me, its very much about who asks for help. If I can, I always help those who I consider friend. How'd you end up working with Zanibi? You mentioned having worked with her for some time right? So this isn't your first rodeo with her?" Nyral continues to try and find out more of those he's working with. Seems to be focused on learning about the lead investigator first. They stay with the group for now as they head towards Theymoor's house. Keeping a magical eye out still.
"I will gladly tell you about how I ended up working with Zanibi..."Inquisitive said to Nyral, his voice turning more serious. "...but first you must explain why you think this secret friend might be a target. It could be important to the investigation in ways you might not see yourself. It is quite necessary that you share anything you might know about these killings." The tiefling said a bit sternly.
By this time, Truador has closed the journal. He hasn’t been able to decipher anything else from it yet and has decided to give it a rest. As he walks along with the rest of the group, he listens in on their conversations. “I have to agree with Inquisitive here. If you think your friend may be a target, it would be good if we knew why you think they are. I understand why you want to keep their identity secret, but that may not be the best idea. If at least some of us knew who they are, we would be better equipped to keep them safe.”
Nyral sighs as apparently they shared too much. They will have to give a bit more but they should be able to protect their identity for now. At least until the drow had a better idea of what kind of people they were. The drow will not risk their friend by sharing too much though. It would be a gross betrayal of their trust otherwise. They look to Inquisitive first as they say "I know nothing about the murders beyond what we've discovered so far. My friend has a connection with Elibyn that I have yet to see any evidence of mattering. There is a reason I wanted to start with Calda before and it was to see if any of the other victims were connected. However, I may be able to find something at Theymoor's as well. If I see something I will let you know more but sharing this could put my friend in danger in others ways. I will not do that without good reason."
They look to Truador next, "I don't have reason to believe them in danger beyond knowing Elibyn and sharing in some of their interests. As I said, I wanted to focus on Calda first to see if there was a connection. Should we warn the Abri Woodworking Society as well for sharing her love and interest in woodworking? I'm sure we would if we found that all the victims were part of the group but not just one. Let us search Theymoor's place first. Then, if I find anything, I will let Inquisitive know. Perhaps you as well Truador. This isn't information my friend would want shared to many though."Nyral continues on to the house, trying to leave the conversation as the pair try to pry information out of him. The drow is focused on searching the house.
The dragonborn nods, "Very well. If they wish to remain anonymous, I will not pry for more information. If you ever feel it is necessary to share any of their information with me, I will not disclose said information to anyone unless otherwise instructed."
Inquisitive tried the front door of the Thaymoor house (as per post 180) while continuing to speak with Nyral. "Try to see this from my perspective. A person turns up and offers to help out with the investigation just earlier today at the inn, admitting to knowing things about one of the murder victims that they are not prepared to share with the rest of the investigative team, something about a connection with a person whose identity they want to keep a secret. Would you just accept that?"
Nyral seems resigned to their fate and oddly relaxed as they say to Inquisitive, "No, which is why I expect you'll be keeping a close eye on me now. Come, let us search Theymoor's house. As promised, if I find even a vague connection I will let you know what it is. Until then, I will protect my friend from my own blunder. I want to find the killer as much as you so I will work with you, follow your instructions and stay within your sight. If you're the kind of man I think you are this should suffice for now."
Zanibi, standing just beside Inquisitive, pipes into the conversation. "Nyral, you are dissembling. Clearly you think there's some chance of connection between this friend and Eilbyn's murder. Otherwise, you wouldn't have ever brought it up, as clearly you didn't intend to share this. You could perhaps reveal the potential connection without disclosing the person's identity."
As far as a library goes, there's a small library in Esperal, a few buildings down from the Lazy Peacock. It's mainly just books on farming, weather records, newspaper archives, etc. The nearest library dealing with arcane information is located at the capital: Pisor.
Nyral:
Looking around, there doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary. There isn't any magical presence you can detect.
Inquisitive, you try the door and it's locked.

"Yes it's locked."Inquisitive said to the others. It wasn't unusual for him and Zanibi to have places they wanted to investigate to which they didn't really have access. Inquisitive had always had a solution to that dilemma. "Time to go Zanibi." He said with a calm voice to the gnome beside him with a wink, taking her hand and uttering a short incomprehensible word before disappearing together with her, leaving behind a faint smell of sulphur.
(Using Dimension Door to bring Inquisitive and Zanibi, unless she resists, to the other side of the door, hoping to find an easy way to let the others into the house.)
Quickly recognizing Inquisitive's warning of 'Time to go', Zanibi allows herself to be pulled along with Inquisitive. With a sense of deja-vu, fairly common to her, she knows already that she will quickly take a look about the space to get an idea of what they've gotten themselves into. (Perception, using one of her Portent rolls: Roll 18 +2 = 20)
Inquisitive, Zanibi, you disappear into the house. It's dark, but that doesn't bother either of you. You're easily able to see the area around you and find the locks on the door. With a click, the door unlocks and swings open, granting those outside the door access to the inside of the house.
The house has a similar layout to Elibyn's house, with the first room bearing resemblance to a small parlor. The closet door is closed, and there is a single, ornately carved wooden bench on the opposite wall. Underneath, there are a few shoes, and a coat rack stands on the side of the bench. There is a single coat hanging off it.

"Come inside, Zanibi and I will start with the bedroom. Look around as you wish."Inquisitive said to the others as he opened the door, then looking further into the house, hoping to locate the bedroom. "We would want to find and speak with Thaymoor's wife in the morning. For now we should look for things like what we found over at Elibyn's house, journals letters. I'm particularly interested about her past and her parents if we can find any information on them." The tiefling said to the others as he moved deeper into the dark house, not bothering with turning any lights on yet as his devils sight made him quite comfortable in the dark.
The parlor space looks normal; nothing is thrown about and no doors were left open, unlike Elibyn's house. There is only a single pair of shoes (work boots) underneath the bench, and a single sack coat hanging off the coat rack. There seems to be something inside the coat pocket. There isn't much else---the room is relatively empty.
Truador:
As you sniff the air, you notice a single thing: it smells like nothing. Maybe a little bit of dirt from outside, but nothing else of note.
(the dice roller really seems to like to roll 9s, huh!)
You move deeper into the house, Inquisitive. The house looks clean, a direct contrast to the mess you saw at Elibyn's. Moving into the bedroom, however, that changes. It doesn't smell bad like Elibyn's, but the bedsheets and pillow are in similar disarray.

Nyral walks in and looks around. Particularly looking for notebooks, journals or notes of some kind. Their dark vision helping with where ever the darkness holds. Their magical vision helping to find anything of magical note as they explore and look for places that might have what they are looking for. True to their word though they stay within sight of Inquisitive as they look around. As they do so, the drow summons their mechanical mage hand once again. To help them move items and look around without touching anything direct.
