Mireah gives a swaying nod to Gewyn gesturing that they'll wrap back around to the topic of his aunt's shortly, before launching into a rambling explanation.
"the ritual to achieve Lichdom includes a unique form of suicide. First, a person drinks a potion made from nigh impossible materials, then they gotta extract their own soul and place it within a vessel. The body dies but then it's revived as a new form of undeath, but the spell used to create the vessel is one ridiculously powerful form of magic. My guess is that there was a pull. If this Nivara had already made necromantic, *hic* ...a Necromantic backup plan in the form of Elthana's body, then that body was waiting, poised for nivara's body to die. THEN! When she removed her soul some escaped to revive the other body, Elthana, Like juuust before it could have been placed in the vessel with the rest..." Mireah thinks, slightly frustrated at the things in her head. All swinging around with the alcohol. "A soul should want to be whole. Should be drawn together... Maybe that is why she is able to access your dreams, maybe you might be able to access hers, if she sleeps that is, but...
Gods...
If you kill her then what will become of you Elthana?
Can you achieve your goal of ending her, if you still live?" Her questions are mixed with the feeling that there are many possibilities, none of them good, and her lips likely loosened by the wine, she looks down, sadly.
Unblinkingly, Elthana responds. Almost as if she already had those thoughts in her head. "This doesn't matter. Nivara needs to be dealt with when we are capable of taking her down." She purposefully looks directly at Mireah, not looking at any of those in her group.
Muir speaks up briefly "When we defeat her and restore peace to this realm, I can bring Elthana back to life as I did for Vincent, as long as the Raven Queen permits it as it seems she has some say in this realm as to who lives and who dies."
"I like your confidence, Muir. Let's hope it is as simple as that, because we know the body and the memories will be fine, it is the soul that might be complicated. I would much prefer to find a way that Elthana doesn't have to die at all. Some way to cut the bonds between her soul and Nivara's. Otherwise we risk bring back the wrong piece of soul", Vin says, very downcast at the thought of Elthana having to die to kill Nivara. "I mean, that must be possible right? To make the soul split permanent?", he adds hopefully.
"the soul will always want to be one... But whether nivara dies, or Elthana dies. The soul fragment of one will likely join the other...
If Elthana destroys nivara's phylactery then she may be fully taken over by nivara's consciousness. One soul, one body, two peoples experiences and memories..." She looks up to meet Elthana's gaze, seeing the determination in Elthana's eyes does nothing to abate the sadness in mireah. "could you live with her permanently in your head, or you in hers?"
"If we can't kill Nivara without killing Elthana then we don't kill Nivara," Sam says simply.
"If Nivara is undead then we leave her that way. We just incapacitate her. Bind her. Wrap her in chains and steel and stone and whatever magics you magic people have and then we seal it all again so far down in the ground that she'll never be found," he explains and gives a little shrug to show that it's really not a big deal at all.
Seeing what is in Mireah's eyes, Elthana sits down with a thump. She takes a couple of deep breaths, and then to no one in particular, almost to herself as it is pretty quiet, "If I had found this out before becoming a Peacekeeper, it would have been no big deal. Just part of the job, sometimes you have to sacrifice the good to get what you came for or need to have done. It is unfortunate, but sometimes necessary. But now?"
Tears well up in her eyes as a lump in her throat forms, "I will still do it. Nivara can't be contained, can't be allowed to survive. We will be destroyed for the greater good."
She finally brings herself to look at her friends, tears falling now, "I will just miss you all so much."
Seeing Elthana's upset, and having drunk Several wines by now, hector stands up quickly and angrily, "no, No! We can't give you up, there MUST be another way! You're the good witch powerful aspect of the thing! You made all this, you must be able to do something, please. Just tell us what to do!"
All hector receives in return is a forlorn and helpless look from Mireah as Delores sits him back down much to the old shadar-kai's protest.
At this point Griff also walks back in and sees the scene, not knowing what to do with himself or what exactly he has just walked into, he picks up the last bowl of food and sits with it, more or less just waiting for whatever happens next whilst he eats.
"I don't know what a Phylactery is, and I don't agree that Nivara can't be contained. I mean, it is unlikely what with what she has done to herself and how long she has been gathering her heinous powers, but not impossible surely", Vin says with the stubbornness of youth.
"We have met an Arch Fae and an aspect of the Raven Queen and that is just the last few days. Who knows who else we can find to help us. I know I keep saying it, but Vox Tontritor would help if we can reverse their undeath. I mean surely they would be pissed at Nivara! Whatever it takes, I am in. And if Nivara is a danger to all realms, let all realms oppose her. Let's gather some troops", he adds, hyperventilating a little.
"And if we lose, there will be no-one to miss anyway", he adds finally smiling at Elthana.
"Vin is right. These realms are so much larger than we ever could have known. With so much possible, it seems improbable that there isn't an answer."Gewyn walks over, swaying slightly, gently taking the bottle from Mireah as he passes and setting it down out of reach. Then he settles down in squat next to Elthana. He looks her in the eyes. He looks like he is about to say something, but then stops, and continues watching her eyes intently. Then he pats her hand. "There's an answer. We'll find it. But I tell you this. Nivara may be a great evil. But in you I see a tremendous goodness. The only way for you to serve the 'greater good' is to watch Nivara disappear while you remain. So that's what we'll make happen. We'll leave the details of it for tomorrow's sober selves."
Sam gently lays one of his big hands upon Elthana's shoulder and gives it a brief squeeze. He keeps his hand there as the others say what they say but he himself holds off until he thinks everyone has had their say. Only once he thinks they are done does he speak.
"I believe we are all willing to sacrifice ourselves to stop Nivara," he begins, giving El's shoulder a second squeeze. "But we are not sacrificing another to do it. We are not sacrificing Elthana. Come what may, I will stand in the way of the gods themselves before I allow that. So we find another way..."
Elthana listens to her friends and blinks back the tears. She knows they mean well and she nods to each and every one of them, not trusting her voice. But she knows, deep down, that she is right and will make sure it is ended before Nivara can hurt any of them. Any of them.
As Hector is wrestled back down and another bowl of noodle soup placed in his lap, Mireah looks around the group, her eyes coming to rest upon Elthana, "I'm sorry to have brought the mood down... I'll help in any way I can. The power she must have to have performed this magic, she will be insurmountably dangerous... I could... Hmm. Gewyn come here. I can give you something... It could help."
Mireah's sadness and the serious nature of the situation has made her sober up a little, or at least try to act it.
Gewyn pushes off his knees to stand up and grins at Elthana and then turns to Mireah. "I am open to any and all ideas," he says as he approaches. "Especially bad ones. They make better songs."
"I shouldn't do this... But you're my grandson, so I think... I hope... That you can handle this." Mireah outs a hand on gewyn's shoulder and then summons some of her arcanum to her finger tips. Once again her hair lifts slightly glowing in the fresh green aura as does Gewyn's, wind whips around the room and the smell of fruits and flowers becomes nauseatingly strong at the force of such arcane power.
Delores stands and seems worried, "Mireah what are you doing!?"
At the sudden spike in magic Spyro jumps off Gewyn's shoulders and flies toward the ceiling, joining Bryze who is still apparently enjoying their new lease on life.
Mireah doesn't look over to Delores, but does dutifully answer, shouting over the din of the wind. "I'm Sharing... Gewyn this is my gift, it is an aspect of my power, and my life, with it you may be able to help. where one may fall it might assist to give new life..."
With that she places the arcane energy into Gewyn's chest and he feels a warmth stretch across his back in a triangular pattern.
As soon as the energy enters Gewyn's body the wind stops, the fire in the corner dies and mireah falls back exhausted.
(Everyone but Gewyn roll a perception check for me, those who have drunk a little too much, due to your previous con saves, roll at disadvantage.
As the magic dies down, Vin looks at Gewyn and a worried look crosses his face.
"Gewyn, are you ok. You look hurt!", he calls to Gewyn before turning to Mireah who has collapsed back. "What have you done to him!?", he says confused and a little angry.

Having said his piece, Vin simply watches, happy at least everyone else are on the same page about Elthana.
He feels the sudden spike in magic, letting it wash over him and having to hold his breath against the intense fragrance whipped up.
