VIn didn't have any major questions for them. The only thing he wanted to ask was "If they decide to keep the portal open. Which I hope they do as it sounds like we will need friends like you, I would like to visit your world someday. Not sure how we would get in touch if so though. Before you go, if we ever run into Mireah... is there a message or anything you'd like us to give to them?" Vin ever so kind offering to pass on words between the two remaining sisters. Surely, Mireah felt something just as Shionne did her. If so, she might even be heading this way. He wonders how she was affected by the changes to this portal. She might be rushing here to find out what happened. Its hard to say.

As the folks from the feywild leave Vin feels a bit of closure to the whole ordeal. So much learned. So much gained. So much lost. He only hopes it's worth it. Neferox seems to sense his pensive state and nudges his hand. The hound ever alert of Vin and how he is feeling. Always by his side like a shadow of things that could of been had they not helped to stop it. As to the cave and what the party does next. Vin listens and says "Spiders are spiders. They won't venture too far from their nest. I think with folks warned about the dangers; the clerics and whoever shows to take care of the portal can take care of them at their own leisure and pace. For now, as much as I want to go to the town, I agree with Sam. I think we would be better served protecting the rest of the townsfolk in the caves traveling through the forest in the morning. I for one would love to see a few happy reunions of loved ones too. We could all do with a bit of happiness for once... even if it's only being happy for someone else." he looks to Elthana and adds "If you want to go now though, why don't we fly on bry'ze?" Vin offers the flight for the pair of them. Neferox doesn't seem to like the idea and woofs.
Neferox definitely isn't in agreement to being split up like that but Vin seems to communicate something with them and they sit and pout. At least until they see the mastiff being all affectionate towards Sam narrows hers eyes at the other dog and suddenly seems determined not to be outdone as she licks Vin's hand for attention and then Vin says "Fetch? Now? Hahaha, okay lets play a bit. Been awhile huh?" He looks to the others and says "We will hang out here until you're ready to go if you want or just until we settle for the night. I'm fine either way Elthana." With that Vin runs off to play with Neferox and goes to find a good sized stick and begins to play fetch with Neferox in the cold. Unless something happens or someone needs Vin or Nef the pair play for awhile in the cold (totally testing out the flying broom!).
Elthana sits back and is amazed how these people, these ones she would call friends are treating her in the condition she is in. Not shunning her, not putting her out since she is worth less to the group now as a whole. She doesn't know how to express... what is the emotion? Gratitude? This is something she is not sure if she has ever felt before.
As several offer to get her to the clerics as soon as they can, she slowly shakes her head. "I can wait, I truly can. Please, it does make sense to travel with the townsfolk in the morning in case there are other dangers lurking on the way. Thank you though. Means a lot."

Surely, Mireah felt something just as Shionne did her. If so, she might even be heading this way.
"Tell her that I miss her dearly and tell her what happened here this day, her lands still live under my watch and will until she returns..." Shionne replies in elvish before departing.
Having made a majority decision the group remains with the townspeople, and begin making preparations to sleep.
Just before Vin starts playing with his new toy, a small and familiar owlin boy steps out of the cave and catches his eye.
One of the clerics, a leopard tabaxi man also steps out and motions Elthana over to him.
With things confirmed for them staying with the refugees. Vin smiles at Elthana and goes off to play with Nef. He was excited to try out the new broom when Vin spots Davis coming out of the cave. Curious what is going on and not sure if they are just following some orders or not Vin tosses the stick he found for playing fetch for Nef to chase then makes his way over to the owlin boy "Hello Davis. Were you looking for me?"
From the meeting place where Shionne and Terry leave, Gewyn follows after them and disappears into the cave with the survivors.
Elthana is called over to a tabaxi cleric and begins speaking to him about a medicinal Salve, close by Vin begins to speak to Davis, the small soulless owlin boy, afflicted by the charm fruit.
Muir walks off to open a hole in a tree out of sight of the cave, and that finally leaves Sam, who slowly walks on over to the cave, staying within sight of Elthana but not interrupting her conversation as he plays with his trio of animals in the snow.
As always, Sam tries to mix some learning and teaching in with the playing. He enjoys the company of these beasts he can pull out of the odd rust colored bag but he also realizes they can be great assets… If they work for a common purpose and can communicate a bit. So fetch is never just fetch and stay never just stay. And the more Sam works with them the more he realizes they catch on faster and can seemingly learn more than most beasts… he does wonder just how much of a variety there is in there, through, and if there is any way to control which is summoned.
Sam does his best to keep Elthana in sight even as he works with the animals. It seemed suddenly everyone was off in their own separate direction and Sam was just killing time. May as well spend that time watching out for her, he thinks yo himself. Not that he distrusts this Tabaxi… but he also doesn’t know them. It wouldn’t take a con but a second to see how to work on Elthana’s desire to be healed… So Sam tries to watch from a distance, just in case.
Elthana barely contains a scream as the salve that the tabaxi gave her feels as if someone is shaving her skin with a white hot razor, and then that feeling starts spreading until every area of skin that this salve touches is raw and painful.
As the feeling slowly subsides to numbness, she throws the salve back at the cleric. "I do NOT recommend you give this to the affected children." and she gets up, extremely flustered and angry with herself. She looks around and sees Sam playing with his animal friends. She does her best to stalk off in the condition she is in towards him and leans against a nearby tree.
The tabaxi almost drops the pot of salve as he attempts to catch the pot that Elthana launches at him in frustration, "I did say it would hurt, sorry, though it should help over the next few hours, oh I'm, well yes luckily none of the mutated are children..." The last part he says mostly to himself as he starts to return to the cave.
Vin cones running out of the cave with a smile in his face and begins playing catch with Neferox, Muir similarly appears from the woods once more and the majority of the group find themselves together again.
Sam is turning and running towards Elthana’s scream in a heartbeat. Seeing she is not under direct attack he doesn’t pull the maul and is slowing down almost immediately but he will still meet her halfway and with a wary eye.
“Is all well?” He asks suspiciously, eyeing the Tabaxi.
"yes, or at least it should be... The salve activated the bodies natural responses to stings and such like, her body will numb her skin now and the discomfort should fade to make her able to sleep better, I'm sorry it hurt so much, it really will help though." the tabaxi looks quite downtrodden at Elthana's outburst but lifts his chin in a way that must be trained into the clerics, he struggles but manages somehow to not let the frustration directed at him get under his skin
Muir appears and see Elthana, Sam and the tabaxi. "Thank you for the salve. It should make it easier to travel to town tomorrow and see a cleric with the ability to lift this curse. There are those that I met weeks ago who are skilled enough to help you."
"Goldsheaf would appreciate all we can do for the town however, I feel that the money should not be directed towards them but instead to the townsfolk. I did not like the look of Goldsheaf when the money was mentioned. Has anyone seen Gore? He is supposed to be here somewhere....Ah I am sure he is around. I spoke with Goodall as well and asked if there was something she could do to help you but she pointed out that divine magic is most likely going to cure you.
“Yes, I was wondering how best to get the coin into the hands of the people themselves, however briefly,” Sam replies. “One way or another it always finds its way to the elite but it’s glow upwards is inevitable… Seldom does it actually trickle back down.”
“At home that is the whole point of the Worker’s Faction - to help the ones who can’t afford to help themselves. I can’t say for sure if we’ve established ourselves in Hokum yet or not…” Sam admits. “That’s a bit above my pay grade…”
A jaunty tune echoes out from the cave, and soon Gewyn emerges in all his tiefling splendour, merrily playing his pipes. "Perhaps that's just what we need to do, Sam. I think what the people of Hokum need right now is not heavier pockets. What good will a coin do here if there's no market square? No crops to buy. What they need is food, lumber, nails, quarried stone, and an army of skilled labourers. If we get that money to the Worker's Faction back in Marblestead, do you think they can put together a contingent? We could visit that wizard, Dennis, on the way back and drop some coin off with him in exchange for shipping some of his just-add-water rations out this way..."
"Aye, that is better than dumping the load in Goodall's hands, but I'm not foolish enough to think the member of the Worker's Faction are above price gouging and the like," Sam admits in reply. "A rebuilding comittee of some sort of in Hokum made up of those who need the help the most would be ideal. Then they could contract the work to those locals who are still able to do it, reach out to other nearby cities for what cannot... The more local the better is generally the case. The needier you are the more likely you are to help someone else. The more you know your neighbor the less likely you are to rip them off. And if you are going to be ripped off, best it be done local to. At least the gold is still in the community."
Vin waves to the others as he ran out with Vin and for awhile they almost seem like a normal young man and a normal dog as Vin finds a good stick and throws it as Nef chases it down and brings it back to him. The two having a blast. They play a bit of tug of war with the stick each time she returns it only to have Vin eventually snag it back to throw again. Eevntually Vin notices the group begin to gather and he gives the stick one more big throw and makes his way over to the others. nef catching up to him panting a bit from the excitement and getting pets on the head as they join. Vin comes in mid conversation and just listens at first as they discuss the gold and how to give it to the people that need it and not just Goldsheaf.
"Why not just divide the gold out individually when we gather up everyone left in town? That way each has gold for what each person needs. They can also decide as a group what to spend the gold on that the town needs most."
“Seems fair enough but… Does a child get the same portion as an adult? A baby? What about a pregnant woman, one share or two? And what if it’s twins? Does a man who was homeless before all this get the same as a man who had a house and business both destroyed?” Sam asks. “Disaster relief is nothing but headaches and hard choices with no right answers. I’d rather find the first three people that were told are honest and trustworthy and leave the whole problem in their laps…”
“Give me a Faery hag and her giant guardian to fight over bureaucratic bullshit any day….”
