The old dwarf nods listening to Grigor, his beard and eyebrows waggling away. "Hrrmmm, yes, yes It think I may have what your friend Xorin? needs..." His old hands spotted with age and stained with unrecognisable substances begin to pat down his heavy worn robes. After some time three thick fingers dive into a pouch and withdraw with a fine lustrous pearl.
"Aha! I knew I had this some where, inconceivable what one picks up on their travels." He looks up at Xroin again, "Now young elf, this bauble is not of any real value to me, so I will happily trade it to you for an object that has little real value to you. What say you?"
Xorin looks over the dwarf for a moment and then starts looking around in his pack, "Well... I have a small knife here. It's nothing special but is well made and will keep its edge for.. well likely a very long time." Indeed the knife is clearly of elven make with their characteristic quality and a winding vine and leaf pattern on the handle.
He olds it out toward the dwarf for his examination, "Would this suffice?"

"No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There's always a boom tomorrow" "No power in the 'verse can stop me"
Simmedesh's eyes light up as they fall on the knife, "Ah! Just the thing young elf, beautiful, beautiful. I was in need of a new small blade for fine work. Elven steel and make. A fine trade in deed!"
The dwarf exchanges the pearl for the blade happily, and begins to turn it over in his hands making happy noises and mumbling about the fine detail and keen edge, "yes, yes, you might not be a dwarf blade but the elves know how to bring out steels beauty for sure...oh we shall have adventures together my new friend..."
As Xorin takes the pearl his finger tips tingle as they touch it, there is something definitely magical about it.
Grigor watches the old dwarf and sees aught but genuine thinking and action, he can detect no deceit or subterfuge in his demeanour.
He then looks up a bit of a sheepish look on his face, "Oh, hehe, please forgive me, my mind does wander from time to time," with another big smile he studies the company again. "Is there anything else besides information I can help you fine brave young people with?"
Xorin take a few minutes to examine the pearl closely while the others engage with the dwarf. He tries to determine if it would be suitable for an identify ritual... also it appears to have properties of its own!

"No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There's always a boom tomorrow" "No power in the 'verse can stop me"
Grigor whispers to Xorin: "Well...Its your lucky day...it must be the deal of the century! A worthless knife against a pearl. I dont know if you're are the greatest businessman or he is totaly insane" and he smiles cheekily.
"If you could give us a hint where we need to go if we want to go to the Goblin King, that would be very nice of you" Grigor says to the dwarf again.
As you study the pearl you do indeed think it would be suitable for an identify spell. You also feel the aura of Divination and Conjuration magic within it. [OOC:I just figured you could probably cast a detect magic on it anyways for a few minute linger :)]
The Dwarf looks back to Grigor, "Why yes young man I do apologise, my mind does wander off on it's own and get lost in the wilds these days, hahahha..." His wrinkled brow furrows and he lowers his white whiskered chin to his fist.
"Hmm, Hrrrumm, Well first some general advice about this place...'Sometimes the way forward is not the way forward, and indeed we may be thinking we are getting somewhere when we are not.'..Hmm, Hrrrumm. Now there was one other thing...what was it...hrrrmm."
He begins to mumble and talk with himself again, after a few moments it seems as though and argument is taking place, all quietly under the old dwarfs breath, finally he says, "Right that's it!" and clears his throat. "My apologies young friends, not only do my thoughts wander off on their own but my memories have their own mind haha!"
"The Golbin King is master of this place, and to beat him you must master him in a place that is not of this place. You must find the hour between dark and dawn and confront him when the clock chimes 13 times...The he will be at his weakest, then his magics will fail him." A big smile breaks upon his face again.
Grigor mumbles for himself "the hour between dark and dawn and confront him when the clock chimes 13 times" then again louder directed at the dwarf "My biggest thanks for this information. That will definitely help us. But excuse the question. How did a dwarf like you get here in this Labirynth? And what exactly are you doing here?"

Though I must admit I have spent far longer here in this maze of the Fey than most other places I have visited." He looks down and the broken cobbled path and mumbles to himself again, "Perhaps there is something in that, a lesson or a secret, hrrrmmm."
"Perhaps I have been waiting for you," he chuckles, "I have needed a new knife for the longest time!"
Xorin moves off a little ways and uses his magic to discover the properties of the magical pearl.
Pearl of Wisdom
This pearl gives off a faint aura of conjuration and divination magic.
It may be used to identify one magical item as per the first level spell Identify. The item has one charge that refreshes each day at dusk.
Alternately it may be used as an ingredient in an identify ritual or spell and will upon casting be used up, but will immediately re-appear somewhere randomly in the casters personal belongings.
Corvus for the most part has been staring ahead down the path form where the Dwarf came. He turns and says to him, "Master Dwarf can you tell us anything of this path you have just travelled, are there dangers behind you, what denizens inhabit it, how is the lay of the land?"
"Hrmmm, Man of Torm, a warrior by the looks of you eh?" He gives the cleric a good hard look, "Not all problems are nails the need to be hammered you know."
"As to where I have recently trod, I have been down the path sinister, through tunnel and cave, through damp and dark. The things in the earth let me be, though I know not how they will treat you. I have walked so many paths, I have learned to tread wisely and well." He paused blowing out his moustache. "But know this, there is danger to all sides in this place and much of it will want to confound you. Much of it has a master, and some if it will wish you well or wish not at all..."
"Now I think that's your lot my friends, I feel the tides of fate draw me again." The Dwarf stands and shoulders his pack and says to the Cleric, "Say a prayer over me so that I might have your Gods blessing this day if you would not mind vicar?"
Corvus tries hard not to chuckle at Ayrlin's prompt. Then gives the old Dwarf a thorough beneficial blessing.
"Torm will walk with you this day Master Dwarf, thank you for all of your aid."
Corvus then re-checks and adjusts his own gear and turn to walk in the opposite direction to the Dwarf, "Time to travel the road already travelled?" he says with a wink.
Ayrlin bows as salutation to the old dwarf. He just listen for the time beign, partly amused partly hoping that this traveller could offer them help.

You see how grigors attitude is getting back to the old one. He looks more casual and relaxed again.
"So Ayrlin is right, let us move on friends."
