Dvark takes notes on the locations of the different structures that were created for the plague. He makes some notes on how time magic has been used in the past. Then he turns to Karm "I don't want to take too much time since I'm sure the others have found trouble or soon will. Is there anything else you would like to look into before we go?"
{{Are you going in stealthily or just walking casually to that tent? Because the setting is quite open and if you can see them then they can see you. The area is not so much empty of people, just quiet and not as crowded. If stealthily, then make a Stealth check.}}
Drexon will move over to the two drunks, not trying to be conspicuous by overtly sneaking, but he will try and make it look like he is not bearing down on them.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Cob thinks that maybe the three of them trying to sneak over to the tent to talk to the drunks might attract more attention than they want right now.
Distraction?
Cob veers off, retracing their steps a little and then approaching the center of the camp directly, heading for the dwarf in the red overalls. He pulls out his fiddle as he approaches and after a couple of warm up draws of the bow to help tune the instrument, he begins playing.
Performance: 14
Once he gets to the dwarf, he finishes up, bows slightly and introduces himself.
"Cobweb Goodfellow at your service," Cob says. "Any chance you're hiring?"
Cob, as you approach and play, you can see that your performance has garnered some notice from the troupe, but not quite the warm welcome that you expect. However, your distraction has allowed two of your friends to slink around the tent almost unseen.
"Quite the performance," the dwarven leader says. He looks disinterested but quite taken aback at the same time. You can hear a twinge of intrigue in his gruff tone. "Never seen your kind around here before. Wonderful music, but different from the taste around here.
"I'm Garran Swifthand, and no, we're not really hiring or opening invitations to join now. You caught us at a bad time. Tonight's our last performance before we move back south. Unless you have no business in Erdelun, you can come with us when we leave early tomorrow. The town's not that fond of us what with us coming and suddenly there's a string of kidnappings in the area. So, we're looking for greener pasture south. Heard that there will be a big festival in Timaril for the new year, bigger than the previous years combined. Something about a finished bejeweled tower."
Drexon and Eremoz, you don't quite reach the drunken individuals before they enter the tent. Standing outside the tent, you can hear a muffled conversation. Strangely enough, you can hear none of the inebriation slurs that should be present in a drunken person.
"... time we move on," one of them says. "We've met the quota but Swifthand is onto us."
"We'll go to..." the other says, too muffled to clearly understand what they are saying. "... just stick to the plan. Now, stop your whining and act drunk when we get out. We have an alibi. Nothing to worry about."
You can hear a rustling from within the tent before two individuals stumble out. One of them is a human, while the other is a half-elf. Their facial feature looks similar enough that you can tell that they are probably step-brothers. Their eyes widen when they see you, but the older one of the two, the human, grins widely and barks a cackle.
"Well, hello, friends!" The human says quite loudly. If you don't know their plan, you will be convinced that they are drunk with their stumbling and slurring. "Have you come to basssk in the gloey of Mighty Urrash? Ugash? The Mighty Urgash?!"
As he approaches the tent, Drexon touches his crystal and whispers a few words of Deep Speech, assuming the additional focus will come in useful.
He listens to the short conversation of the pair and smiles at them as they exit the tent. The human is quick thinking, almost covering his surprise at seeing them. He would likely be a passably good card player.
But what is their game? And did it have anything to do with the missing children?
”Good day gentlemen”, he says with an incline of his head. “I am special investigator Krab, and this is my partner Moss”, he adds conjuring a badge and quickly flashing it.
”We are aware of your activities, and the quota, and I suggest you drop the act of being drunk. We know your alibi is false, so let’s be honest with each other. You aren’t the bosses of the endeavour, in truth you are small fry, and not of great interest to us if we can catch a bigger fish. So, why not just point us in the direction of your contact, tell us exactly what you have been up to, and we can call it a day. What do you say?”, he says never losing the smile.
"I am afraid if you don't co-operate, Moss here will have to take over the questioning, and you wouldn't want that", he says losing the smile and putting on an expression of concern as he looks up at Eremoz.
Eremoz listens to Drexon talk to the “drunks.” He makes a show of using his claws to pick at something in his teeth. He gives a chuckle, “You will find my friend more pleasant to speak with.”
The man that calls himself the Mighty Urgash immediately backtracks. Behind him, the half-elf man pulls something out of his pocket and drops it on the ground. Immediately, dark smoke billows from the dropped object and the two run back into the tent. You can hear rustling followed by a sharp whipping sound before silence.
"Hey!" Garran calls out when the dark smoke suddenly appears at the edge of the encampment. He moves toward Drexon and Eremoz with fury in his eyes. "What are you doing back there? Stop messing around! Stop that at once!"
{{ Do we not get the chance to react to all this, they have done a fair amount without us acting? My assumption is we would have been right next to them if we were listening by the tent }}
{{Of course. The progression is the man comes out, listen to you, and the half-elf drops the smoke. They run back into the tent, but you can react as they do it. Whether you react or not, you can still hear rustling and a whipping sound from inside the tent.}}
Drexon is a little taken aback when the half elf drops the smoke bomb and the pair rush back into the tent.
"Well that was unexpected", he says throwing a quick glance at Eremoz and flicking his eyes towards the tent to indicate he should follow. He then makes to dart through the smoke and into the tent himself.
He hears the shout from the portly dwarf in the red overalls, but ignores it as he moves quickly but warily.
{{ If Eremoz reacts the same and heads into the tent, he will let him go first. If Eremoz hesitates, he will go first }}
"Damn it all to hell," the one called the Mighty Urgash says when you enter the tent. It seems that the man and the half-elf have miscalculated. They have little time to flee or hide, and the smoke is only the thickest outside while it is a slowly wafting mist inside the tent, allowing you to see them almost clear as day. You can see that the man is pushing the half-elf into a large wardrobe and closing it. He turns toward you and offers you another grin, hands raised in the air.
Inside the tent is what you expect a tent of a traveling troupe would be. It is filled with knick-knacks and baubles. A pair of cots have been pushed to one side while trunks and boxes fill the rest of the tent. A couple of the boxes bear the symbol of a wide tree trunk with many gnarled branches.
Cob, as you follow Garran, you notice at the corner of your eyes a shadow moving through the forest just as the smoke appears. Turning to the back of the tent, a moment later you see a half-elf man exiting the back of the tent. He looks at you and Garran's approaching figure, and bolts toward the forest.
"Come here, you little devil!" Garran shouts at the escaping figure and quickens his run. "You cannot run from me, lesser Urgash! I will find you and gut you until you beg for mercy! I have had enough of your nonsense! You and your brother!" He looks toward the other members of the troupe still loitering around and waves his hand toward the escaping man. "Well, don't just stand there. Someone get him before he brings the city guards to us again. God knows he and his brother would die if they haven't found us and are left on their own."

{{Sorry, guys, I think we will be focusing on the other three for the next few days before we get the group back together. Is there anything else you guys want to do? Let's say that the research so far took the better part of an hour and the trio has spent about 20 to 30 minutes since the group split up.}}
Drexon walks in and moves around Eremoz, keeping his larger comrade between him and the Mighty Urgash, but making sure his view is unimpeded.
"Not the best idea to run. Like I said, tell us what we need to know and we may just walk away", he says locking his gaze to that of the Mighty Urgash.
He will watch carefully for any hostile action, or any attempts to escape.

”Is that from one of the acts? It’s pretty effective cover. You could disappear quickly with that.”
If Garran continues to Drexon and Eremoz, Cob will move to the other side of the tent, looking for an entrance on the other side.
Drexon is a little taken aback when the half elf drops the smoke bomb and the pair rush back into the tent.
