after all have had the opportunity you feel this room with a bar which can be placed on the door securing it from the inside it would be a good place to rest with no possible interruptions.
"I feel well rested, like I slept 2 days! Behind that door is gonna be a fight. I could prepare a hearty meal while your sleeping?" Millwater says as he notices Veeshal eyeing the brace against the door.
After removing soils off the statue he steps back to view the whole statue. He turns around, wondering how worship might have been performed. As he is turning the chest comes into view, it dawns on him it might be part of the ceremony. (Reminding him how similar stone Mason's rites were to his own. Probably blind folded, removed when viewing in torchlight, swearing to the statue or perhaps an oath at the chest. Then a symbolic death at the statue's feet?) He wonders.
Millwater keeps searching out clues about the room and statue, secretly want's to see Festoon's tools out mimicking surgery again!
"I'm feeling invigorated to! I heard her tell me that there are other shrines here, she'll be watching us and I for one want to do her proud. When your ready, so am I."
"Must be nice to have a personal guardian." Festoon comments "I'm ready, so let's go."

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Vee allows a true smile to touch his face as he watches the antics of the young Tabaxi. ‘ We should grab a quick bite then go remove some more vermin from their loathsome existence. If needs, this room looks secure as a fall back area to regroup.’
Sorrow grins as well. ‘Let him enjoy his awakening, Vee. I know you were that age once-about a century ago I imagine-and your cloister wasn’t all THAT strict. I seem to recall a few stories told by the Reverend Father about your reaction to finding your purpose in life.’ She’d chuckles as the blush comes to her friends face. Noticing the twitching at the corners of his mouth she winks at him. ‘But you’re right. A quick bite then onward we go.’
Millwater sets up a spot on the floor, and starts making biscuit dough. He sits with a good view of the chest, so he can watch the magic. After mixing up the dough ingredients, he tries to light a small fire, but cannot get one lit. About to call for the lit torch and discovers it is out too."This is strange!" He moves out of the room to the passageway they exited to try and immediately gets a flame!
Purring gets louder as dough stiffens and he has to work it. Between working and rising the dough, he chops up iron rations and vegetables very fine and dumps it all in a pot above a tiny fire. "it won't be ready for 6 or 7 hours, but it will be alot better than the spider boil!"
Purring away with his tasks, his mind focuses on his experiences the past few days and starts to figure in the exposure to disease, parasites, environment, and injuries. With the ingredients he has on hand, adds lots of garlic and onions, mineral salt and a lime to fuel everyone's immune system.
"Okay, Uncle, go ahead and open it!" Festoon tells the hand, and it lifts the lid. To the group he says quietly, "I like having Uncle do these kinds of things. It's so...handy."

Vee exchanges a worried look Sorrow then clears his throat. ‘Unless there’s Lady told you there was something she wanted us to have out of there, I’d suggest closing that quickly and thanking her for allowing you to see the contents.’
"Aww, really?" Fetoon says, disappointed. "It looks like someone just left it near her. You sure it's hers? Maybe it belonged to the Hobgoblin!" The hand hovers near the opened chest, waiting for orders.

"I think this adventure's going to take some time and we know that we will be seeing more of these statues, when we're done, we can ask her politely if there's something we can do with the chest..." he winks. "I think that's how it works. Might ask us to take it and use some of it to have a feast in her name!" He grins.
Really appreciating the bandit's fancy nesting cookware in the confines of the passageway, while getting creative with a pile of pots and pans to form an oven to retain the heat of the small fire.
He grabs a paper wrapped ration pack of journybread and pulls a gold piece from his pouch. Kneeling at the chest his bows his head and says, "Please accept my offerings, may they be for you or a stranger in need. I'd offer some delicious sausage too, but i don't know if the way it went down was kosher." The Tabaxi smiles, sated curiosity leaves a warm fuzzy feeling.
Millwater adds fuel to the fire to bring the mixture to a roiling boil, he adds starch to thicken it. Working the dough 1 last time. He puts everything together in a duch oven and sets it in the oven. Satisfied the heat is right and even he joins the others back in the room.
He stretches out and performs a few compact katas to loosen up. "I'm ready to fight!"
Millwaters is finally able to get a fire going outside the room. The smoke does not enter the room at all. Meanwhile the specter hand stays close to the trunk lid wantong to close it but not wanting to close it. Is it waiting for further word?
Festoon closes the lid slowly via the hand, sighing as the last sight of the treasure vanishes, then he goes outside to the fire. "Now where to?"

J'nah takes the challenge and practices as closely a he can to what he's seen the monk do. "I know I can do this!" before he is thrown probably 3 times on his butt.
During the rest, J'nah chats more about his homeland, his family, how cool he thinks monk fighting is and compares it to fighting techniques used by his family in the past. He acknowledges he was good at being a ranger, but wants to do more martial stuff then tracking. (that's called multi-class foreshadowing ;) )
Sorrow nods ‘Aye. The life of an adventurer is usually filled with such dilemmas. She gave us peace for a bit and some healing, then pointed us towards our original goal with a few small stops along the way. Far be it from me to anger such a one to the point that she’d take away said healing-because it could also turn into hurting if she were to consider us now her enemies. Find an alms box or chest next to a statue that hadn’t helped us-by all means we’ll liberate it and enrich ourself.’ She sighs. ‘Sounds like we need to clear these caverns first then check out a bit North of here before turning our attention to the South. Finish up and let’s roll.’
Bowing to the statute, Tail goes over to see what Mill is making fore settling against a wall. “I am as ready as can be for the battles ahead in the tunnels.”

As Festoon uses the spector hand he examines the trunk. He finds there is no lock and no traps apparent on the chest

The specter hand lifts up the lid to the chest. Inside you see a lot of coins mixed in with other items.
