“Are you seriously asking if anyone speaks the language of hell’s denizens? If I were to interact with devils it wouldn’t be in their forked tongued language.”
Kaliden try’s to see what writing Thorin is referring to.
"If it were Celestial, I'd be leaping to assist." says Bombil, "But much like Kaliden, I've not had a reason to learn such a language." Infernal? He wonders about any groups in the city that would have business knowing infernal.
Bombil says, "Let's not be so hasty. There are still two others in our little group that might have the prerequisite skills." He turns to Tagreth, "I know this may be reaching, but might you have some knowledge of Infernal and or a means by which to comprehend such a language?"

Nicolas de Brézé
Stepping forward from his position as rearguard, de Brézé peers at the script and at the torch above it (Investigation: 18) "I do not speak the language, but it's written in blood, so I suppose we get the message," he quips wryly. He rattles the torch and its sconce, curious.
"Wait!" Tagreth urges. "Whilst I never took the time to read the language, I do know of a trick to decypher any language."
Tagreth moves over to the wall. Crouching down, he places a hand on the wall just below the writing. He then once again withdraws his screwdriver from his pocket with the other hand. As he moves the screwdriver to the wall, it transforms into a quill. He then begins tracing the words with the quill.
"If it were Celestial, I'd be leaping to assist." says Bombil, "But much like Kaliden, I've not had a reason to learn such a language." Infernal? He wonders about any groups in the city that would have business knowing infernal.
{With a 4 Bombil doesn't recall any groups in the city that would have any knowledge of the Infernal language but if there was a group that did have knowledge of it they may be keeping that information on the down low.}
{With a 13 Bombil doesn't see anything all that out of the ordinary when he looks up towards the ceiling, there is a little 'dust' that falls every so often but other than that... there isn't anything out of place.}
Stepping forward from his position as rearguard, de Brézé peers at the script and at the torch above it (Investigation: 14) "I do not speak the language, but it's written in blood, so I suppose we get the message," he quips wryly. He rattles the torch and its sconce, curious.
{With a 14 Nicolas notices that unlike the other torches and sconces the one above the writing seems to be out of line with the one on the other side of the tunnel. It looks as though if it was to be moved something might happen.}
As the torch and sconce are moved something further down the tunnel sounds as though it has shifted or has been moved.
As Tagreth traced over the words with the screwdriver turned quill he begins to understand what had been written upon the wall. At first it doesn't make all that much sense until the sound of something moving could be heard off in the distance.
A translation of what was written on the wall:
I'll probably be dead before anyone reads this. That being said, whatever you do don't move the torch, those monsters can't be allowed to leave the tunnels...
Tagreth stands back up, "The person who wrote this left it as a warning. They believed that would shortly die after writing this. But the warning says not to move the torch, that some monsters cannot be allowed to leave the tunnels."

"Seems a reasonable course of action." says Bombil to Kaliden as he puts on the ring. "Though I have to wonder. It took us magic to be able to understand the message. So how many would understand the warning? Couple that with the ease at which Da Breze was able to rattle the torch and that arm back down the corridor... might whatever was in there already have been let loose?" He then reaches into his component pouch for small flask as he casts a quick spell.

Nicolas looks quite pleased with himself for figuring out the torch - until Tagreth translates the message. He stares at Tagreth, alarm clear on his face. "Morbleu!" he swears. "You'd better get behind me - Monsieur Tagreth," he says with a quick hitch in his voice. He moves, getting between the party and the grating sound down the tunnel. "No game, Monsieur Dwarf," he replies, drawing his sword as he faces this imminent threat. "Just being too clever for my own good. Or for anyone else's," he admits. "And please, Monsieur Bombil, call me Assarion. I am simply here with Monsieur Tagreth."
{With an 11 Thorin doesn't see anything that could be dangerous up ahead but he does hear someone or something running in the group's location, followed something that sort of sounded like a low growl and heavier footsteps.}

Thorin stops and signal the others "Something comes our way. Be ready" he whispers. Then he will hide by pressing himself against a wall. He unsheathes his sword ready for what comes.
