Devious serpent folk devoid of compassion, yuan-ti manipulate other creatures by arousing their doubts, evoking their fears, and elevating and crushing their hopes. From remote temples in jungles, swamps, and deserts, the yuan-ti plot to supplant and dominate all other races and to make themselves gods.
The door opens. The rust breaks free and falls as small orange crumbs on the ground. Before you is a massive room. A large chandelier hangs in the center of the room, while long wooden tables stretch from one side to the other. You get the impression that this was a dining hall of some sort. In the far corner of the room wooden crates, rotten by time, are stacked in haphazard piles. Digging through the piles are two creatures. At first they don't see you, but as the echo of Raui's voice rings out, the turn their head and dash toward you.
When the door opens, Nikolai smiles proudly. But his smile vanishes as soon as he sees the creatures in the room. "Oh no."
Nikolai sheathes his shortswords and draws his daggers. He then yells at the creatures, trying to get them to come his direction, moving close to the chandelier, but not beneath it. "Hey uglies! Come and get me!" he shouts, trying to draw their attention from Raui.
If one or both of the cockatrices get beneath the chandelier, Nikolai will throw his dagger at the chain suspending the chandelier, hoping it will drop on them.

Talie's attack misses slightly, but Raui is able to connect with a powerful quarterstaff strike before missing with a kick. Tamba fires an arrow into the fray and is able to strike one creature, though only clipping its wing slightly
The Scavenger
Reaching into his pouch, he once again takes a small, smooth pebble, imbues it with a purple energy and hurls it at the creatures. Attack: 17 Damage: 7
The stone explodes directly in front of the beasts, burning their feathers slightly.

The creatures approach the chandelier and Nikolai sets a dagger sailing toward the support chain Attack: 6 Damage: 5
The attack works, the chandelier falls, dealing 10 damage and pinning one creature. The remaining creature leaps toward Raui Attack: 15 Damage: 3 If succesfull Raui needs to roll a CON save.
Tamba summons a Shield of the Faithful (Cleric Protection Domain feature), imposing disadvantage on the creatures attack roll against Raui. (This is only if he is within 5 feet of the creature. Not exactly sure where he is situated).
"Raui, duck!" He yells, slinging the shield deftly over the monks' head and into a defensive position between Raui and the creature.
Since this is PbP, I had to impose disadvantage after the roll was made. Hope this is OK. Also, Tamba's reaction is used up for the round.
As this room is extra large, and Raui was the only character that ran into melee range, I imagine Raui and creature 1 to be in the middle of the room, about 20 feet away from the party. This was a perfect example of how to use a Reaction though, and we should try to use this as an example for the future. Reactions are best cast before I make my post in reply.
That being said, Raui still needs to give me a very important CON save.

Nikolai lunges at the creature pinned beneath the chandelier, his shortswords aimed at their target. Attack: 16 Damage: 5 piercing damage plus 6 from Sneak Attack (because he has advantage).
As a bonus action, Nikolai attacks with his other shortsword. Attack: 22 Damage: 5.
I'm going to assume I have advantage because the creature is restrained under the chandelier.

Tamba
You bounce off the door. It's weight, as well as the rust, keep it tightly sealed.
Nikolai
Go ahead and roll a thieves tools check :)

Is it possible for me to assist with this? I have proficiency with thieves' tools but don't actually have any of my own.
Nikolai pulls out his thieves' tools proceeds to pick at the lock.

"You can do it!" Raui exclaims, much too loudly.
And that's all I have to say about that.
