Peppermint's mount will be the snail in orange named "Whizzy" Noutrin's mount "Flowerflash" in yellow and finally Andrick's "Shellymoo" in pink
The course is 480 feet long. The snails wear the following colors and names: "Whizzy" "Shellymoo" "Flowerflash" "Breakneck" "Nimblefoot" "High Road" "Queen’s Majesty" "Quickleaf"
The snails that weren't used by your group were claimed by some other visitors. They look like common folk, nothing remarkable. The race is divided into 6-second rounds. Once the race begins, the snails move along the track at remarkable speed, each one covering 80 feet per round by itself. Without riders, the snails are an even match, but a jockey can try to improve a snail’s performance by patting its shell or speaking words of encouragement at it.
Once per round, each jockey can make a DC 12 Wisdom (Animal Handling) check. On a successful check, the jockey’s snail moves an extra 10 feet that round, or 20 feet if the check succeeds by 5 or more. On a failed check, the jockey’s snail moves 10 feet slower that round, or 20 feet slower if the check fails by 5 or more. The race ends when one or more snails travel the 480 feet needed to cross the finish line.

Nuotrin rides his snail, patting its head and whispering words of encouragement to Flowerflash time from time. "These snails are faster than I thought!" he exclaims to no one in particular.

Peppermint slides down from Whizzy’s back, and runs up to Hazel, excited. “I hate it when people force other people to do things they don’t want to do,” she says, with kind of a manic look in her eyes. “So I just let her do her own thing! It was so much fun!”

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
‘Well done, Peppermint!’ laughs Andrick ‘So the old sages spoke truly…’
He shifts into a story-telling pattern of speech ‘The wise person sits by the river as life flows past, neither striving nor suffering, but experiencing all life.’ then he grins ‘Or at least that seems to work for snail racing anyway!’
Another witchlight hand will reach Noutrin who finished in last place and say "Hey there! I hope you had a great time, maybe come later and try again, remember that riding one of these magnificent cratures is already a type of victory!" and he'll hand a wand to Noutrin which will allow you to cast dancing lights once as a consolation prize.
"Congratulations on your well-earned victory, Peppermint! It seems like the day is turning around for us." Looking around, Yoli sees the Pixie kingdom, the bubble-pop teapot, and the mystery mountain. "That mystery mountain ride looks like fun"
After everyone participating in the contest is seated at the table, they are presented with trays within hand reach filled with cupcakes.
The witchlight hand organizing the contest will light a very small candle which will create a small but colorful explosion indicating that the contest has begun:
Besides Elle, Yoli, Hazel and Peppermint some other visitors joined the table but can only eat three cupcakes every 3 seconds. then they need to take about 10 seconds the get some other three cupcakes.
Though Elle was starving she also struggles after three cupcakes, Yoli and Hazel after five and peppermint gulp 6 without flinching...so if the game continues with this pace you would've eaten the following amount: Elle 12 cupcakes within a minute Yoli and Hazel 20 cupcakes within a minute Peppermint 24 cupcakes within a minute
However anyone willing to push and try to get one more cupcake would need to toll a CON saving throw. Feel free to roll as many times, I'll post the results after everyone participating in the contest has replied.
Some further explanation of what's going on for Elle/Mollycore
I'm taking the constitution modifier (the + amount that appears next to Constitution in each one of you participating) to determine the amount of cupcakes that your characters can eat. Higher constituion means more cupcakes. Rolling a saving throw requires you to check the saving throw section from the sheet look if you have any modifier and add it to a 1d20 roll. I'll let you know if you passed the roll if you'd like to do that.
Generally rolling a 10 is ok, 15 is great and 20 is awesome. (anything below 10 will surely be a fail)
(Got it! And btw I was still on holiday this last week so I apologise for dissappearing for a while,)
Elle really didn't care if she was winning or losing, she was so famished she just wanted to eat! The cupcakes were amazing! She could eat them all day, but her tummy felt sore after a while and she gave up, face on the table groaning.
Following the map and your newly friends and guides you arrive at the dragonflies stand after little while, unfortunately the hand running the stand wasn't ready to take any vistors... both Billiam and Peppermint take notice that it has almost passed one hour after the carnival opened its doors to the visitors and it was time for an amazing event:
The welcome gifts! (which are provided by Northwind, the same hand that runs the dragonflies stand)
A twelve-foot-tall walking tree garlanded in golden ribbons marches down the thoroughfare. Emerald clouds swirl above the tree and rain down golden, spinning sycamore seeds. Fairgoers try to catch the seeds before they hit the ground. As the seeds gently fall, a chatty squirrel scampers along the boughs of the tree, handing dandelions to select passersby.
((The sycamore seeds are very numerous and fly everywhere within the bounds of the carnival, you can attempt to catch a falling sycamore seed before it touches the ground, doing so with a successful DC 10 Dexterity check. As mentioned above, you can run towards the hand instead of trying to get a sycamore seed to receive a dandelion seed))
Ok I'm rolling; I got 35
