After looking for a while (an hour) you guys meet again and Yoli shares a lead, a visitor that seems normal - a teen halfling having fun on its own walking towards the north area maybe to the Gondola Swans or the silversong lake - The halfling doesn't carry any object, or show any studies in the arcane traditions but emmanates an aura of transmutation -
Yoli's familiar was able to keep within range, the halfling stopped next to several visitors, a stand before the gondola swans where mist gathers at the banks of a lake. Near its center, Palasha lounges in a giant bowl, singing a glorious, haunting song that captivates spectators on the lakeshore. In response, the lake water coalesces into magical sculptures that whirl around her as she performs.where Pashala was performing a similar dance
Yoli's owl catches the halfling heckling the show, and how it switfly changed his appearance to a different humanoid figure, and older human. When the party arrives the older human laughs at the lyrics and throw some mean comments regarding Pashala's bowl and her appearance.
Palasha stops her performance for a second but managed to concentrate and continues with her performance. You are all now within 30 feet of the saboteur, and it hasn't noticed you or the familiar.
"This is our saboteur. Look how he is trying to ruin the song ! We need to act quick but don't cause them any harm, I don't think we should shed any blood..." Hazel whispers. She looks around. The only big spell she knows could obliterate the target, so decides to go for something else.
She cast mage hand and get the hand to scoop a large quantity of sand. "Give me the signal, and I will throw sand in its face. Who is strong enough to hold it?"
Note: if there are several songs, Hazel will use minor illusion to create a loud noise of applaud and Bravo to confort Pashala
Andrick raises his voice,'I think you're great, Palasha!'and then gives an appreciative wolf whistle... While he's doing that he's moving to cut off one of the exit routes for the shape-changing heckler...
Peppermint, being who she is, strides straight for the man. She glances around for any other Carnival bouncers, ready to pull them in. After all, this looks like it might be the heckler, at long last.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
As she goes, she sends a telepathic message to Rood, who currently holds her eerie token. “Boss, I think I found the heckler, changes shape, at Palasha’s lake. I’m going to try to apprehend.”
OOC > I know we shouldn’t expect actual assistance from NPCs (especially one I made up!) but this is definitely what Peppermint would do, so.

Hazel face lights up « fly ? » she repeats. Flying would be amazing, her wild magic did strange things to her but never flying. She seems to be lost in her thoughts for a while but then comes back to reality.
« Sooo, borrowing his watch to have leverage. Humm, why not. I do have a cupcake that could help. Who is the best here to sneak around and ´borrowing’ things ? Does he keep the watch always on himself ? »
OOC : Hazel has a cupcake that can turn her invisible
Yoli pipes up "I won't say why, but I have actually had quite a bit of practice with "relieving" people of objects of value. Invisibility would be great, but I'm actually quite proficient with sleight of hand and deception. Figuring out how to break the chain is the sticking point as far as I can see"
((Your can make the investigation check with advantage and you would know that thieve's tools would do the trick for the clocks chain))
Once the group gets within 30 feet of the saboteur, Yoli casts sleep 15 feet above their head, hoping to only affect the one target by it.
Sleep spell roll 24
The saboteour seems confused for a couple of seconds, looks around but can't lock eyes with anyone because he is interrupted by a loud yawn that forces him to stretch his whole body, he then shakes his head trying to keep focused, now with the yawn gone he turns around and notices Yoli staring at him...before the saboteour can do anything it falls rapidly on his back.
Anyone who gets within 5 ft of him will see the mouth of the human seemigly snoring but the sound produced by the saboteur is not human, it does sound more like a bird of some sort expelling air softly causing a gentle whistle.
Rood will meet you after 40 minutes. so that'll be 1 hour before the Witchlight Monarch crowning. ((Current time 6 hour mark - so right now you have 2 hours to prepare for the crowning))
Andrick keeps half an eye on the now-sleeping figure, while taking the time to work the crowd up, attempting to re-build any lost excitement over Palasha’s performance…
’Does anyone have any rope?!’ he asks between exhortations…
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Yoli hog-ties the saboteur, and then rummages through his clothing to see if there's anything on his person that provides any clues as to his identity or what he's up to.
Investigation: 25

Once Yoli spotted the young halfling, he summoned his familiar, directed it to fly above and keep a watchful eye on them so he could make his report.
