“That’s a good idea, Hazel. I have rope, too,” and Peppermint pulls out 50’ of silk rope from her small pack. “I’ll go down first,” she announces, getting ready.

"Sounds good to me. Let me send my owl down there to have a look first before we go." Yoli then summons his owl familiar and sends it below to have a look around down below.

Owl's perception: 21
As the owl descends and pierces the fog it hears coming from one direction several voices joined in a marching song. The singing grows louder as six bipedal rabbits wearing clothing emerge from the fog. Two of them tug at the reins of a giant snail, and the others carry clubs and slings.
Yoli goes quiet as he intentionally see through his familiar's senses. He mouths the words to the rhyme as he hears it. "There's a band of armed brigands down there. I'm not sure that down is our best option, unless we want be robbed. They're singing a song about Agdon Langscarf, the brigand prince."
Hazel whispers "Well I guess, the best would be to let them go by, correct ? If we can avoid fighting the second we arrive , it would be better. Did you see if they had any prisoners ? If no, we could just wait 10 minutes and go our way" She then approaches quietly the border of the highway to take a glimpse of those bandits. Curiosity is probably the worst flaw of Hazel

Peppermint glances over at Hazel as she arrives at the edge, then looks back down at this mist. As it swirls and eddies, she tries to get a look at these bandits.
‘Sing me the song they were singing Yoli, quick but quiet now…’ says Seer, an idea beginning to form ‘We need information, and this is as good a time to try and get it - I’ll go down first and see if I can influence them…’
'Much as I appreciate an audience Hazel, let me try and finesse them before you all come down - if we all turn up at once they're more likely to turn hostile...'
He looks back over to Yoli in order to get the words..
Do you want to change form into a rabbitfolk to do this? If so, I can help you out with that. I can cast Disguise Self on myself, and we can go together, or bring one other with us as our "hostage" That way we can help each other in the deception.
'Fey creatures are likely more savvy to illusion magic - I think I can bring them round, not with deception but with song, and quick thinking.'
He looks around the group 'I won't pretend to be an expert on the fey folk, not academically at least, but based on the stories and songs I've heard leads me to think they might respond well to an artistic approach...'
He then pauses to smile, showing some teeth 'And if that fails, I'll hotfoot it back here where you can all ambush them, and knock them out!'

The singing harefolk are six in total, four of the brigands have their weapons drawn, and the other two browbeat their pack animal, a giant snail. They don't have any prisoners but the way they mistreat the giant snail could make you consider it as a prisoner or something worse.
Before you decide to get back to rest of the party (I'm picturing Hazel and Peppermint going down just enough to go past the thicker fog, not descending all the way down) In the distant sky, you spot a great balloon made of patchwork material. It spins out of control as though punctured, causing the wicker basket that hangs from it to swing wildly. The balloon plunges out of sight, disappearing into the fog approximately a mile away.
Peppermint points out the balloon to Hazel. “Go. Get Seer down here, we’re going to have to deal with these hares. Everyone else should be ready to drop in.” Peppermint stays where she is, hoping to keep an eye on the brigands until Seer climbs past her and can try their thing. She will stay there (she’s noisy in her armor) until Seer needs help.

Yoli is skeptical that all fey folk see through all illusions just because. "I'm not letting you go down there alone against six armed brigands. I'm coming down there with you if you want to try this. What form are you planning on taking?"

(Going by the info from Discord, we def have time to get down there before they arrive.)
After telling Hazel to get the others, Peppermint moves on down into the swamp, moving a little ways out of the path the harengon seemed to be taking.
(You probably need a Stealth roll, which Peppermint is proficient in, but she’s wearing scale mail… if hiding is not at Disadvantage (gotta press the DM where I can!) just take the first of the rolls in the disadvantage…) Stealth: 18
