Baldar ducks under the wild swing of the woman and grimaces. This was getting out of hand. She draws her axe and sets her feet, then swings towards the woman, aiming for her head with the flat of the blade. If she strikes true, the axe glows momentarily with an ethereal light. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry" Baldar mutters continuously through gritted teeth.
ACTION: Battleaxe to hit 20 Damage 7 Divine Smite 12
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Tuuli gasps a little as Baldar pummels the woman with a blow and a flash of divine power, but she skips over the vines to where the boy is trapped, and crouching down next to him says, "I'm really sorry about this," and bonks him with her rapier.
Move: over to trapped boy Action: Attack boy with rapier, non-lethally, with advantage for restrained and thus sneak damage. 21 to hit, for 14 non-lethal damage Bonus Action: nope
Baldar flattens the woman with the side of her battle axe - she goes down hard in the dirt. Tuuli follows suit with the remaining farmer, knocking the tangled boy unconscious with the back of her blade.
Combat is over.
The woman in yellow rushes in to check on the condition of the four unconscious farmers. Other locals push through the thickening crowd with rope to tie them up. None of their injuries are life-threatening, but they will undoubtedly be nursing the effects for a while. The woman in yellow pulls a crumpled sheet of parchment out of one of the farmers' hands; opening it, she curses in concerned shock. The song continues in the distance. Others arrive to check on Baldar's and Bendrak's wounds, and offer bandages and elixirs to ease their pain.
Less concerned about her own wounds, and more about how she just used her divine energies to fell a poor farmer woman, Baldar drops her axe and quickly leans over the woman in blue. Placing her hands on either side of the woman's face, but not touching, Baldar closes her eyes and concentrates. The same ethereal light that imbued her axe appears in the space and is slowly absorbed into the woman's head.
(Using Lay on Hands to give 1 HP back to the woman)
If the woman comes to, Baldar studies her face, looking for the same mindlessness that had just possessed her. "Please don't hit me again because I really don't want ta hit you again. Are ye OK, lass?"
The blue-clad woman's eyes open abruptly. Her eyes still swirl with red. She lunges at Baldar with a wordless shout, straining to bite her. Members of the crowd quickly step in to subdue the woman and assure that she remains securely bound. Whatever has enchanted this farmer is still in effect.
"What's Mr. Cato doing here, and what's wrong with them?" asks the woman in yellow to nobody in particular. "Who are these others?" she asks, squinting at the woman in blue and the other two. "Thank you for stopping them," she adds, addressing the party, "and thank you for not killing them. They're just farmers. Something's wrong with them. Mr. Cato is a gentle soul."
Tuuli sidles over to the woman with the crumpled sheet of paper, “Do you mind if I…?” she says, gently tugging at the paper. She tries to take it and read it.
Walt picks up his quarterstaff from the ground and watches as the townsfolk render aid to his friends. Knowing his friends are in good hands, Walt wander's over to Tuuli as she tries to investigate the crumpled sheet of paper.
Walt offers up a question for the woman in yellow. "Excuse me...hello, my name is Walter. My friends and I are visitors from the Citadel. We happened to be walking by, perusing the merchants when the chaos broke out. If I may, can you tell me who is Mr. Cato? And why do you seem so surprised that he's here?"

The woman in yellow relinquishes the crumpled parchment, and Tuuli examines it. It bears a charcoal sketch of a child struggling to swim in dark water while being grasped at by hands beneath the surface.
"Hello, Walter," she says calmly. "My name is Delanore. Folks here call me Aunt Dellie. Mr. Cato here is a farmer and a talented woodcarver. He lives up in the Rattle, a half day's travel from here. He doesn't get down here to Promise much anymore. Gentle man. I don't know who these others are - maybe they're from the Rattle also. My goddaughter lives up there, not far from Cato's house, I believe. She WAS supposed to be here for the festival, and I haven't seen her yet. And that worries me. Especially since that old man there," she points to the other older unconscious farmer, "was holding a sketch made by Kianna, my goddaughter. I know her art style, and that is a scene she draws regularly. Worries me a lot."
Scrambling back from the woman as she lunges, Baldar helps the townsfolk subdue her once more. She moves over to Walt's side, her face etched with concern, and takes a look at the drawing on the crumpled parchment. What she sees upon it does not ease her concern one bit; in fact, the eerie drawing only amplifies it.
"What worries ya? The fact that farmer has a drawing from your goddaughter? Or that she was drawing monsters? Moradin's beard, I hope those are monsters and not people," Baldar points at the hands in the drawing.
Seeing the silent communication pass between Tuuli and Walt: "Are we going ta Rattle? Can I get another kebab before we go?"
Walt looks at Tuuli and Baldar with pursed lips and a look of concern in his eye. He lets out a nervous chuckle and says “yes, Baldar. Fetch us some kebabs and have them packed for the road. We travel to Rattle. If we need other provisions, we should stock up here.”
He looks to Delanore and says “my friends and I will go to Rattle to check in on your goddaughter. What is her name and can you describe her for us? Are there any maps of the area or of Rattle that could aid us in our journey. Any guidance would be much appreciated.”

Bendrak eyes the last bit of his rabbit, dropped in the scuffle and well-trampled, with sadness. "Strange magic cost me a meal..."
He approaches Aunt Dellie. "What on earth was that? Does this happen often, crazed townsfolk? I've been through some street brawls, but this was something else."
Aunt Dellie's strong voice shakes as she begins to explain her goddaughter's drawing to Baldar. "As a child, Kianna saw her friend Culley drown in Cradlelace Lake while they were playing. Since Culley’s death, Kianna has used art to work through the sadness and guilt she carries to this day."
Turning to the whole group, she adds, "Yes, please, friends. Please go to the Rattle immediately and make sure my goddaughter is safe. I'll stay here and organize a full investigation. I'll have a generous reward for you if you can return my goddaughter to Promise safely."
Aunt Dellie gives you general directions toward the Rattle – evidently a dangerous but fertile farming region to the north – although she doesn’t know exactly where Kianna’s farm is.
Walt is a bit uneasy with the situation that he and his friends are walking into, but determined to help Kianna and Delanore in there time of need.
“Thank you for the information you shared with us, Delanore. My friends and I well gather our belongings and head out as soon as possible. The bandages and elixirs you brought my friend Baldar and Bendrak were incredibly affective. By any chance, can you spare some for our journey?”

"Oh, well, certainly. Coyotes, bulettes, monstrous predators of all kinds, really. Dangerous borderlands, but very fertile soil. But feral beasts, yes, deadly predators. So be careful, please."
With a nod, Baldar wanders off back to the stalls. She returns a few minutes later with kebab in one hand and axe in the other. "Right, I'm ready ta go. When do we leave?"
“Now,” Tuuli says, looking at the others. She plops Lucky on her shoulder and, producing a length of cord from somewhere, gathers her hair to tie it out of her face and into a bushy ponytail of sorts. It flutters in her personal breeze like it is trying to escape.
She begins heading the way indicated.

Walt stashes away his new dolls, giving little Wally a gentle pat on the head before securing the pack. He unlashes his new hand axe from his backpack and straps it to his waist belt next to his trusty dagger.
He falls inline with the party as they move out. Walt spies a few nice stones on the trail, snatches them up and casts magic stone on them, just in case.

The boy remains trapped. The woman in blue misses wildly.
Everyone may act. (Advantage on any attacks against the teen.)

She gives Walt a short, decisive nod, as if she already knows what he is thinking.
