Three of the hands continue to maul the horse, but one goes after Lady Dre:
Hand 1 vs. draft horse 1: 8 Hit: 4 slashing damage. Hand 2 vs. draft horse 1: 4 Hit: 3 slashing damage. Hand 3 vs. draft horse 1: 5 Hit: 2 slashing damage. Hand 4 vs. Lady Dre: 5 Hit: 4 slashing damage.
Baldar scrambles to her feet. Not beasties. Something truly unholy. She raises her shield and the symbol of Moradin upon it begins to glow with an ethereal light. "Begone!" she yells, "Ye stinky, cursed, handsy, evil things."
If any of the hands turn to move away, Baldar warns the others not to damage them.
ACTION: Channel Divinity Turn the Unholy. The hands must make a DC 12 Wisdom Save or be turned.
Baldar stands and calls upon her divinity to demand the exit of these severed, undead hands. They seem to pause for a brief moment, but then continue their deadly advance. (They appear to be completely immune to effects that turn undead, alas.)
Lady Dre stands and draws her short sword from the folds of her multicolored dress. "Ahk!" she shouts in disgust and anger. "That horse cost me fifty gold!" She swings twice at the hand clawing at her.
Lady Dre Shortsword Attack #1 vs. Disembodied Hand #3: 14. Hit: 7 piercing damage. Lady Dre Shortsword Attack #2 vs. Disembodied Hand #3: 8. Hit: 4 piercing damage.
Tuuli slips her bow off and draws an arrow in a fluid move, drawing and aiming steadily down at one of the hands covered in gore from the horse. She lets the arrow go and a breath of wind follows it.
Lucky backs away from the edge of the sinkhole.
Move: nope, for Steady Aim Bonus Action: Steady Aim for Advantage Action: Shoot a hand with short bow, Adv, and thus Sneak Dmg (rolled on Game Log): 10 to hit, for 11 piercing damage
Walt exits the disabled cart and moves diagonally to gain line of sight of the attackers. He’s briefly startled at the sight of these bloody disembodied hands attacking the horses and Lady Dre. He steels his resolve and makes his attack! Move: Walt moves one step back and one to the right. Bonus action: cast magic stone on the last three stones in his pouch. Action: Walt loads his leather sling with a magic stone, whirls it three times over his head and let’s it fly towards one of the hands attacking the horse. Roll 25to hit. Walt crits for 9damage!
The last crawling undead hand is caught in the Proclaimer's radiant flame and dissolves into mush. No other attackers appear; combat is over.
One horse lay dead, the other wounded. The wagon has sustained serious damage and is nearly on its side in the pit. Several of you have bumps and bruises and other minor injuries.
Lady Dre swears loud and long before apologizing to the Proclaimer for her language.
"We need ta get the horse out of here! I ain't leavin' it in this hole for the beasties to feast on." Baldar looks at the wagon, wondering if it would be possible to push it back onto it's wheels. Then tilting it up so the tail board is on the ground in the pit and the shafts are on the edge of the pit above such that the wagon forms a kind of ramp. Baldar explains her plans to the others to see if they can assist.
(No time for a perception check, Tuuli is going to help the horsie!)
Tuuli looks over at Baldar’s comment, and then looks at the horse. She lifts her arms and a wind whips up, but strangely, it flows towards the pit, then the wind goes calm, and the horse neighs uncomfortably, its mane and tail fluttering in a new breeze…
Levitate! Horse needs to make a Con Save vs DC 10! Unless it doesn’t want to fight it. I’m thinking a terrified horse would fight it.
