Her face lights up with shock catching the book she rolls with it, Cat frowns. "Easy Drux! These books are old and may be valuable! They should be treated with care!"
She examines the book hoping for clues to defeating the hag they're up against.
cat reads trough the book carefully. the book describes various kinds of hags, such as Sea hags, annis hags. . . and green hags.
The green hags page reads:
"Green hags are known to love Tragedy, despair and suffering. They derive joy from bringing people low and seeing hope turn into despair, not just for individuals but also for whole nations. Some even speculate that they trick children with magical disguises and treats. this Rumor was a great inspiration for Tales like Hansel and Gretel.
One must be very cautious when engaging a green hag- not only they prowess a respectable magical power and various magical trinkets at their disposal, they are also intelligent. they may grab a hostage, create traps on their lairs, or even create conflict between adventuring parties.
altough they are tricky enemies, one can use a hag's own pride against her. by invoking her curiosity and hiding one true's intentions, and surprising her, a good hunter can have the upper hand against the witch."
She reads it aloud for the group. Then she tucks it away in her pack "Interesting. But, I think I may ask Volocamp for a bit more information." She thinks for a moment "Didn't we see a bookstore in, Trollskull alley?" She says with a softer voice. "Thanks Drux for finding this book"
She shrugs, then as the others answers, decides to start checking more rooms, motioning them to follow. Trying the immediate door to the north (Privy)
Then after that description if nothing happens. She checks the next door to the northwest (Bedroom with access to the tower,(Dibs!)
(I guess I can play Piers, till you get a replacement player for him. May I make a Character sheet that I can use?)
Lore shrugs. "Very generic. A longer read may be useful later."
He looks around the room and prepares to leave, "Perhaps we should make a list of all the things we need to change or fix then decide who we need to hire and what we can do ourselves."
He fidgets a little while he waits then adds, "Much as I value cheap lodgings, I did not come here to work in building maintenance. There are larger concerns that warrant our attention."
“No problem Cat. I think this place has potential. Don’t quite know what I want to do with it, as far as using as a base camp versus utilizing it as an income source.
Lore shrugs, "There must be others who are more suited to ... " he wrinkles his nose, "... fixing broken pipes."
"There are, I think, other matters that we should focus on." He lets out a sigh, "But let's continue what we have started, and decide who we need to hire, eh?"
cat enters the privy, it is full of spider webs, with the water having a green collor with a bad smell. . . nothing too eye-catching.
after this, she goes to the north bedroom. This old, musty bedroom features a small reading nook in the sun-lit turret. A sturdy ladder propped against the window can be folded open and used to access a locked hatch on the ceiling, leading to the peak of the turret.
One of the small windows is broken and provides a well-needed breath of cool, fresh air. The shredded mattress on the bed and numerous droppings here suggests a family of rodents may live in this room. Another hearth resides on the south wall. A door on the east leads to a private bath. The area under the tub is sagging, wet and musty. It seems as if the heavy tub could cause the floor to collapse any second.
“We’ll need quite a few people I’m sure. Someone to check the structure as a whole and make repairs. Someone for the outside landscape. Maybe someone to take a look at those pipes if the first guy can’t do it. Real question is what do we want to do with it? Because it’s goal may change how we repair it or alter it.” Drux pauses to let that last statement sink in.
“Honestly, I wouldn’t mind a base of operations. But I’m also fond of having a steady income source too.”
"Drux, Dagult Neverember once told me that sometimes, you've got to spend money to make money, course that was right before he gave me the letter to deliver to Renaer" Thinking it must of been a month ago when that happened.Seeing the room her eyes light up and excitedly says "I've got dibs on this room." She laughs when she says it. Then sounds more matter a fact "Like I said before, I'm thinking mainly a bar. I mean, it already has a tap room. Lif saw it's potential before his unfortunate end. I guess we need to find this, demi plane and close or somehow, destroy it? We'll have to ask Blackstaff how. If, when we talk to her."She wonders about the music box she found, as she tries the door to the N.W. (Tower.)
(( @DM: Would Lore have any idea how much a builder, carpenter, plumber/smith etc would cost to hire? And, is this the kind of world where we need to hire each, or would we hire a 'project manager' (master builder?) to oversee and hire as appropriate? ))
“I like the idea of keeping the bar and taproom going. Maybe make our own signature brew in the troll’s skull,” Drux lets out a loud laugh. “But Cat, I don’t know that we’re picking rooms just yet. maybe we should rent the rooms all out. We’ll be on the road more often than not anyways.”
She smiles in agreement with Drux but then Cat pouts. She replies more determined "Ever since I ran away from home, I've never had a place to call my own, So, nope, this room is mine as much as this place is ours, as long as I don't get ate by some dragon or something. I'll come back here when I can, after adventuring." She thinks upon what she just said. "Maybe I'll hang out with Lif in the afterlife when it comes to that. But I like the Idea of having a place to call home."
Piers seems to be like a fish out of a pond. He prefers the smell of fresh air. sleeping outside accompanied by the birds and his animal friends."Home to me is the earth and the sky .The soil is my carpet and the stones my chairs..but I have to say this place is something I could call it home. All you have to do is fill it with plants and build some birdnest"
Cat surprised at the sound of Piers voice when he speaks up since he's been quiet for so long "Well, Piers you did say something about a greenhouse here and keeping the manor grounds. I think the room beyond this door is the tower maybe we could convert it to a greenhouse or place one on the roof. Having the tower as a entrance to it. I bet fresh fruits and vegetables would really bring customers in." She thinks upon it further "Are there any Druid spells that would make the manor stronger?"
"As long as I am near to my precious plants I don't mind wherever it is.I have to admit that this idea is excellent. Having tomatoes ,cucumbers, or even exotic fruits like papaya and mango will bring customers..By the way sure there ll be like spells but its easier if we have a few beasts to guard the place " Piers looks back at Cat "Apologies for being all that time silent but there were a few troublesome thoughts like dark clouds. In time we ll talk about it"
Her face lights up with shock catching the book she rolls with it, Cat frowns. "Easy Drux! These books are old and may be valuable! They should be treated with care!"

What are those concerns Lore?”
Cat looks at Lore waits for an answer to Drux's question, as she opens the (Privy) door.
