Piers pats kess sympathetically ."You are with us now little friend. Now if you don't recall if he mentioned where he will head next don't worry as there is another option." Turning to his companions excited that he came up with a few ideas says"Right so we have two ways to learn. One option is use diplomacy and convince that lady that is in her benefit to tell us about that man as we could potentially send him to the authorities and thus she will be free from the fear of losing her family..or we could sneak In and then find proof she is involved and then make her tell us what business she has with him and where he went"
Lore listens to Kess, trying to assess how stressful this is. He speaks soothingly via their link, "If you don't want to answer now, just say so."
He then tries to piece together what he saw, and what Kess said. He speaks quietly, giving voice to his confusion. "Was the woman the prisoner? No. No. She was elsewhere. So...the bloodied prisoner is the one we were chasing? And the woman...saving the prisoner? And...what is this stone...have we seen it -- the mask perhaps?"
He recounts what he saw for the benefit of the others:
lore manages to see trough her eyes. the sprite was close to a robed man using a stone mask that resembled a vampire. you could also see that he had only one arm. "i appreciate the kindness of retrieving the stone for us. as promised: your family shall be spared from the bloodshed that it's yet to come." he comments, as the crow appears on his shoulder, looking at Kess with a glowing eye that looks like a rock. the crow whispers something at the robed man's ears, and then he grabs a small, iron jail from his robes. after this, a sigil appeared inside the cage, and everything goes black.
....
"i found him! he's imprisoned here. pretty beaten up, looks like whoever got him wasn't happy. i'm gonna go back no- wait, i hear someone. . ." after a few seconds of silence, she reports again "it- it's one of the weird guys! the. . . the one without the arm! he's talking with a woman about something. . . maybe if i get closer. . . i can he-
(( @DM: Lore has been focused on Kess but now has the leisure to think back on what he saw and try to match it with Kess' words. Is the woman Kess heard and saw the woman who traded the stone? Is the stone the mask? His questions pretty much match my own, but maybe Kess can fill in the details! ))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"If we learn the one armed mans name I could write a message to him on the paper bird and we could follow it. Course, it looks like Kess needs a rest after that, ordeal so. I guess we can wait."
Gola? Stone? Where have I heard this before? She thinks, 11 History
"i. . .i don't know, they didn't talk anything about what it did." (yea, cat may have picked a quill o/ )
"no! the woman was pretty much the one that imprisoned the man we where after. i mean, it was her home probably, and the prisoner was all bloodied from torture. also it was not a mask, that i'm pretty sure. uh, do you think. . .they will kill him? i mean, if they just wanted the stone. . .they don't need to keep the man alive, anymore"
cat tries to think her best to remember anything about some "gola." her train of toughs go on various paths, until she manages to recall an ancient legend that the old people of waterdeep would sometimes tell the children: the legend of Golorr, a cruel aboleth that believed himself to be an ageless, immortal god. she does not recall much of said legend, however she remembered one of the many endings that it had- Golorr was tricked by an powerfull wizard who promised him knowledge about anything he wished, from the deeps of the nine hells to the littlest of sprites from the Fey wilds. The wizard led The aboleth to a trap, wich apprisoned him into a stone, forever bound, never free. some people say that the wizard threw the stone in the deep ocean. . . others say that the wizard was posessed by the aboleth, as he traveled from person to person, hand to hand, increasing his never ending hunger for the unknown and for discoveries. maybe. . . this stone was the aboleth? the "stone of Golorr"?
"that artifact if its a powerful then we must learn where that necromancer went and take it from him.And that noblewoman is guilty so let's forget about negotiating with her and better search for clues ourselves " tthe asks curiously Cat"What do you know about the stone ?"
"Its, a pretty powerful Item. I read a book about it while in Neverwinter." she tells what she knows to the group
"I suppose its a legend, but Golorr was an cruel aboleth who thought it was an immortal deity. A great wizard promised Golorr power and knowledge but tricked the aboleth into the stone, imprisoning it. Course legend says the wizard was possessed by the stone, I guess what goes around comes around as the saying goes. The book said it was rumored, the stone never stays around for long always ending up in someone else's hands, trying to placate its thirst for knowledge, and the unknown."
“Wait, are you saying the man is a stone? I can say, past the man without the arm, I’m lost. Maybe it’s because I woke up in a rush and haven’t a chance to process what’s been going on.”
"This acolyte of Vecna wants the stone cause he is looking for power!?So if this petrified aboleth gives the answers this necromancer wants then he will find perhaps a way to find a more powerful spell to raise an army of undead!?" says as Piers starts creating scenarios in his mind
"Drux, I was saying, the aboleth named Golorr was trapped in the stone. The book explained it looks like a giant squid like fish with sharp teeth, and three eyes." She draws a sketch from what she remembers.
A very smart creature. Allen to us, it said it has mental abilities."

( when you where tracking the blood, it was still fresh. the man recently entered the mansion just a few hours ago. )
you all hear a few knocks on the door "room service! i've baked some cookies for you!" says the voice of the elderly tiefling
"I think we need to help this guy whom they imprisoned, if he's still alive. If worse comes to worse. We do have a fireball to use." with a quiet voice
"I'm not sure I trust the Tiethling. Don't eat the cookies"
She goes to the door but she listens first. (rolled a 6) but again my passive is 14
"yes! you've never have one before?" she asks "it's something natural on the inns around here . . . to make the experience more "glamorous" and "confortable". altough i am sorry all i can provide are those cookies she says, holding a plate with cookies, the smell was pretty good, too. then she turns her attention to drux, looking at his sword ". . . is something happening there?"
"Sorry, he was just about to clean it, rust you know." Cat says then adds as she curtsies. "Thank you for the cookies, I'm from the north and not used to such, hospitality. I'll be sure and recommend you if someone asks."

“Thanks for clearing that up Cat. You all had my head spinnin a bit. Nice drawing too, where’s you learn to draw?”
(my drawing is worse than that lol.)
"I didn't" she giggles
She says at the door "Room service?" implying that she's never heard of such.

Lore raises an eyebrow and nods, as Kess disappears from sight.
"We should move on anyway...I'm with you...we should try to rescue the prisoner."
