As Oliver awkwardly hop-walks over to the other table, Faera abandons her own senses in favour of his. She sees as he sees, and hears as he hears.
Faera
The dwarf sits stiffly in her seat, looking over at your table frequently, presumably at Ghurr. The human woman upbraids her, "Gemina Brightbraid, you cannot go picking fights with Bugbears and Orcs. A, you would lose, and B, you know we can't afford to draw attention to ourselves. Flesher has eyes everywhere, and if he finds us already we won't be able to pay him. We need more time to get to Mazemouth to make the exchange."
The dwarf manages to tear her gaze away from Ghurr to address her companion. "I know Tildy, I know. If we don't get there in time we're done for. I don't understand it though, everyone knows Bugbears are mindless monsters, all the Goblinfolk are. Why would they travel with one, and why would they let one stay here?"
"I don't know Gem, this one seems alright. I mean look, he's just sitting there, not killing anyone."
The dwarf squints. "He's probably just waiting for his moment to chop all our heads off with that glaive," she says sulkily, then looks confused for a second, before adding, "What's that scratching?" She peers under the table and looks directly at Oliver.
At that moment Verity returns to the inn. The dwarf calls out to her "Verity! There's an owl in your inn! It must have come in through a window, it looks a bit confused."
"Oh, the poor thing!" says the human. "I'll help it back out." She tries to grab Oliver from under the table.
Before Oliver can move, or Faera can command him to move, the human is able to reach down and grasp him firmly. She carries him over to the door, open where Verity has just entered, and throws him up into the air, then smiles to herself at a good deed well done. Faera can sense that as soon as the door is closed, Oliver simply wheels around in the air and lands on the roof of the inn.
Verity follows the human back to the table where she stands awkwardly, her hands held in front of her. She says something quietly to the two, causing the dwarf to gasp "No!", leap up and run out the door again towards the stable. The human clasps a hand to her mouth, her eyes wide.
Ghurr watches all that is going on with a great deal of curiosity. He's quite interested in Faera's owl.
He looks over at the others. "Most bugbears bad. Not protectors. Don't know why. Maybe bad life. So not worry about what dwarf say. Better be safe. But remember, horse safe around Ghurr."
He then watches the dwarf run outside towards the stable.
Thurodim nods at Faera as she closes her eyes and leans back, moving his chair to sit a bit more protectively beside her as she has made herself vulnerable, scanning the room for threats. He notices how the human helps Oliver out the window and how the group apparently recieves some bad news. "Yes, it was probably their horse." The half-orc answers Ghurr, giving the trio a sympathetic look, considering trying to help them out some way. "Better make sure there's no more deaths tonight."He rumbles and gets up, following the dwarf with quick heavy strides.
Faera comes back to herself with anger in her eyes. She looks at Ghurr and doesn't understand how he can take such unwarranted hatred towards him just because he was a bugbear. And just sitting here calmly. She was glad Verity didn't hold such animosity towards her new friend.
What had transpired between the two women interested her though. She looks up to the remaining group and while the women were gone, she fills them in on what she overheard (read the spoiler if you haven't). "This Flesher doesn't sound like a good person, but I am not thinking it has anything to do with our current mission? Do we want to find out more or just move on?"
"Flesher has many eyes?" Ghurr asks as he absorbs what Faera has just shared and then nods. "And eyes everywhere scares them."
He looks around frowning.
"They don't like what different." Ghurr adds. Then after a moment he continues. "Maybe Flesher like smart troll. Many heads with many eyes and eats many people. Could cause problem in Soft's Rest. Worth ask."
Mala makes it back with the others to the inn, staying quiet and watching what's going on.
"Many eyes probably means this Flesher person has many people working for him that tell him what's going on everywhere. I doubt it's a troll with lots of heads." She considers the information Faera relays. "Not sure what these two are doing is nefarious. Trying to earn money maybe to pay off this Flesher. I do wonder what they might be up to. But probably none of our business."
Thurodim, as you approach the stable, Gemina (Faera will have told you the name she overheard) backs out of it clutching her mouth. She bends over and starts to retch and vomit. Gasping, her eyes watering, she sees you and wipes her mouth.
"What do you want? Come to gloat? Big man who can make a mess of a troll, looming over the 'little lady'? I might be smaller than you but if you start something I'll do you some damage, you'd best believe it!" She stands with her fists clenched down by her sides, and her eyes have welled up with tears. At this point she sees Ghurr exit the inn and walk over.
"You need two of you? Am I that scary?" She laughs at the direction she thinks this night is going. "Alright then, what have I got left to lose. Just leave Tildy alone, this is my mess. And when you get back to Flesher you tell him I went down swinging!" She takes an amateur boxing stance, fists held up in front of her. "Come on! What are you waiting for!?"

"I'm sorry for your horse."Thurodim rumbles with a sympathetic face. "We don't work for Flesher, we're serving the commander of Fort Imma. We're on our way to Soft's Rest to catch whatever is killing people there. We want to help people that seems to be in trouble. We will leave you alone if you want but perhaps we can help you too somehow, we wouldn't want you to feel threatened by this Flesher. Tell us about him and maybe we can find a way to convince him to stay off your back." The lumbering half-orc says sincerely and confidently, flexing his muscles.

Faera follows her friend out of the Inn wondering what was going to happen now. As she sees the Dwarf get riled up and ready to fight, she goes to stand next to Thurodim, wondering how this dwarf will react now. And hoping her human friend will join her and help talk some sense in her.
Mala was about to ask Faera if she thought the two big folk needed some supervision. But before she could, the woman had already headed out of the inn. She followed just behind but stopped just outside the door where she could watch what was unfolding from a bit of distance.
Gemina lowers her fists a little, but not all the way. She clearly doesn't trust you, but something in what you have both said has swayed her enough to let her guard down.
"We don't need your help. We're getting on just fine. Or we were. And if you don't already know about Flesher, don't get involved. There's not enough light to fight his dark."
At Ghurr's question she barks out "Don't give me orders, Bug! He's a man, Mr Flesher. So I'm told. Never actually met him."
As Faera joins the boys out in the courtyard and Mala visibly observes from the doorway, the dwarf sighs and lowers her fists completely.
"We just need to get to Mazemouth by Sunstir." You will know that this is the commonly used name for the Spring Equinox, when day and night are equal length, and people celebrate the true start of Spring with fayres and games. "Which we can't, now that we're down a horse. We've got too much for one horse to pull. So, we're screwed. And you can't help." She starts to walk past you all back towards the inn.

"Could be worse, we have horses, perhaps we can help you if you're heading towards Soft's Rest?" Thurodim suggests gently, following Gemina back inside, glancing around for threats in the night one last time.

Once inside, if the dwarf insists the team can't help her, Thurodim would again approach Verity about that bath.
Faera smiles up at the large bugbear. "Yes, let us finish dinner. We have definitely earned it." and she joins her group at the table, trying to unwind after the days activities.
"Ha! the dwarf laughs humourlessly. "Thanks, but we left there first thing this morning. We're supposed to be getting a ship from Fort Imma. Like I said, you can't help." And she pushes past you back into the inn.
As you all congregate back around the table, Verity bustles back over to you. "I can't thank you enough for what you've done, all of you. If you hadn't stopped it that troll would have gone through all the horses, and then us probably! So by way of gratitude, there's no charge for your food, drink or rooms tonight. It's the least we can do.
And a bath? We've only got the one tin bath, but I'll get someone to set it up by the fire in our back room for you," she smiles at Thurodim. "Might be a bit snug for you, but it's all we've got I'm afraid! It'll be ready for you in an hour."
As Oliver awkwardly hop-walks over to the other table, Faera abandons her own senses in favour of his. She sees as he sees, and hears as he hears.

Ghurr nods as Mala suggests that many eyes is more likely a metaphor for a network of spies than a literal description of Flesher.
"That be easier see everywhere," Ghurr concedes. Then he looks around for the pair. "Never know if our business unless ask. We ask."
Ghurr gets up and follows Thurodim back outside, looking for the two women.
If he finds them and Thurodim he'll ask "Does Flesher want hurt you? Why?"

"It okay if you not like bugbears," Ghurr says. "Mum and dad don't like most bugbears too."
He looks back to the stable and shakes his head.
