The draw is as follows. There each of your group is in a separate subdivision of the draw for level 1. There will be 4 subdivisions in level 2 of the competition and then a final division for the win. Each level progresses with the same prizes as in the previous competition: Level 1: 1st 10 gold, 2nd 4 gold, 3rd 1 gold -- Level 2: 1st 40 gold, 2nd 15 gold and 3rd: 5 gold. All prize winners of each level are advanced to the next level. Finals prizes are 1st 100 gold, 2nd 40 gold and 3rd place receives 20 gold. Here are how we score each level. The competitors each have 8 shots at the target and score there top 4. The scoring is as follows: Bulls eye (20+) = 40 points -- Ring Two (19 or 18) = 20 points -- Ring Three (17-14) = 10 points -- Final Ring (13-11) = 5 points -- All other is a miss.
Alright guys, you can do this! Shoot straight and show these elves what you can do!
I meant to say previously that I'd grant inspiration to both Merry and Tenzin, but I got caught up in some stuff. I'd like to apply it to their rolls before the competition started, if that's at all possible?

@Simon, if you don't mind being a cheerleader I'll grant that in each set of 8 shots our contestants are allowed to use one inspiration but can apply it to any shot they wish. So if Merry rolls a 2 or higher he will score a max score of 160 for his 4 shots that count and will be in a playoff with contestant #5 who also scored 160. Otherwise, if Merry rolls a 1, he will finish in second place for this subdivision.
Chasmic is extremely busy with school along with having weird working schedule come up and an emergency dental issue. I'll roll for him here and well see if he is able to rejoin us soon: 15, 16, 13, 8, 22, 12, 22, 22 and inspiration: 1
Wow the competition heats up and Merry, who faced incredible scoring from his competitors, turns in a second place to win 5 gold and automatically advance to the second round. Tenzen is lucky that his competitors didn't score as well as Merry's because he would have been eliminated if they had. He successfully weathered his subdivision placing 3rd overall to collect 2 gold and also automatically advance to the second round. Emotions build as the second round begins and the archers take aim at the targets down range. The scoring has been high and everyone is excited to see how things continue.
The subdivisions for round 2 have been shuffled and the competitors are new against Merry and Tenzen:
In Merry's subdivision of round 2 near perfect scores abound and everyone loves the wonderful display of archery. The competitors score 130, 120, 120, 100 and 95. But Merry is up to the challenge and also scores a 130. There is a tie breaker round just between Merry and competitor #1 to see who will win the second round first prize.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
With a score of 140 Merry easily out performs the elf and takes 1st prize in his subdivision of round 2. That comes with 40 gold and again the automatic qualification for the finals! Now we move to watch Tenzen compete against the elves in his subdivision.
Tenzen lines up and gives his best effort but fails to place as the elves show great skill with 3 scoring 120. Tenzen is eliminated from the competition in the second round! He was only able to muster a score of 95. He will have to wait untill ... well ... gosh this is a once in a lifetime experience so who knows if this kind of opportunity will ever be seen again. Not to worry, Merry is still carrying the banner for the visitors. Time for the final 6 competitors to line up and show their skills one last time. The crowd is silent as each competitor knocks his arrow and fires at the target. Roars go up with each well place hit.
OOOHHHH, Merry is not able to stand up to the competition. In the set of 6 he finishes tied for 4th. A well fought fight but the elves prove in the end to be too much. All of you are given a place to rest for the night. Lady Saava thanks you for participating in the fun and assigns her servant Fenric to lead you to your quarters. You get close to the place you thought was going to be your quarters and Fenric stops all of you. You are nervous and not sure what to think. Fenric looks slightly sheepish and says "I have been assigned to show you a special place in our kingdom. Please follow me." He then takes a detour and heads towards an opening in the forest. You are not sure what to think as he approaches the hill from an odd angle. All of a sudden the hill opens and he walks through what looks like an opaque vertical wall. You all stop and are wondering what in the world is going on.
What do you all do? Also I'll calculate XP and let everyone know who is able to level up.

Woah...
Graarl will reach with his arm and pass it through the wall? -not sure if I'm able to go throw the wall too, assuming I can...
He will then head inside once he can tell it is safe for his body to go through the wall.
Merry trusts the elves by this point and enters with little hesitations.
