Drezmir nods in response to Merlyn's history lesson, "I know all that...well most of it anyways. Gwen told me. But things have changed, and she is going to be leading Glazing Winds."
He nods in response to Leonard's comment about their 'fearless leader', "I see. I would like to meet him." He chuckles, "I can assure you that we are not 'up to no good'. But I'd understand if he is a bit mistrusting, especially considering that half of us aren't even from Radiance."
He smiles at Arthur's comment, "Yes, but I can move a lot more quickly and quietly without such armor. If its anything like what some of the samurai wear...I can guarantee its not for me. I really would make a better ninja then a knight." He trails off as the paladin continues asking questions, then says, "There were some...issues, that we helped take care of. But everything alright now. Yes, I guess I am. But I've honestly only been a knight since this morning. The king?...well we did just meet someone who said he was sent by the king..."
"Sure, just head back down this road," Drezmir gives a brief description of the way they'd come. "I'm sure they would love all the help they can get. Especially if you could help get some trade going."
His eyes widen a little as Arthur starts asking questions about Gwen, "Um...yes she is quite adept at fighting. She held her own against some pretty tough bandits, not to mention helped us take down two hill giants. Cold? ...she never seemed cold to me..." His face starts to burn a little as Arthur's questions continue. No one ever asked him such questions when he was in the monastery...sheesh this kid is talkative.
He's glad when Merlyn steps in, "Its alright, again, I've only just been knighted...I understand if you're just making judgements based on your studies. Fulgur knows we have plenty of people in my brotherhood who do the same thing. But I would encourage you to go to Glazing Winds and build your own opinions based off of what you see there."
He looks to Jess, "Oh, I wasn't thinking we'd be double checking their work, just helping to round up whatever ruffians got away. But if the rest of you don't want to stick around for that, I understand. I'm sure these three and their guild are perfectly capable of handling it... I just thought we'd offer."
He nods at her question about the king, wishing he'd thought to ask that question, "Yes, I was wondering the same thing. This isn't the first time we've heard about him being...busy."
The fairy steps forward, listening to all these exchanges with a smile. "I'm Amon, it's a pleasure to meet you." He bows down slightly at the waist. "Glazing Winds is right down this way," Pointing back the way he came, Amon will tell them directions to Glazing Winds along with the time it'll take them to get there. "There are people there who would definitely appreciate your help in some wat, and the help of the kingdom. Say, how much farther is Dawn City?" He sees Corvus approach Merlyn out of the corner of his eye, but for the first time in a while he chooses not to comment on what he's saying... for now.
"That seems like a good idea." Amon nods to Vex, and addresses the group in its entirety. "Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong my friends, butI don't believe that we are in any hurry at all; a small detour wouldn't do us any harm. I would love to get to know all of you fine folk better. Though, I can surely sympathize with higher-ups being concerned about outside help, so if that's something you'd want to avoid I completely understand. But, it would be a wonderful way to pass some time and do good on the way, in my opinion."
“So, Arthur. My name is Syktyvkyr Kpsykc. And based on the conversation, I presume I was quite accurate on what you are like.” When Arthur calls him ‘magic man’ he replies; “Yes, I am a man of magic myself. Except not in the way of throwing fireballs at people like most expect. Instead I just boil them inside their armour if they try and fight me. But need not worry, unless you try and attack my group with intent to kill, I will not be doing that.”
As Jess begins to speak Merlyn crosses her arms thinking for a moment.
"I believe personal experience is important too.. That's why I'm out here. Books may not be perfect but they've helped me out more than once.. Plus I enjoy studying it relaxes me. I apologize of the Dawn's Bane comment. Was one of them able to draw the Dawn Blade than?"
Jess had asked what took up the king's time Leonard had looked at Arthur with a contemplative stare and for once Arthur had matched Leonard's expressions showing some level of caution.
"I don't know if it's our place to tell. It's a bit of a secret from the outside kingdoms although rumors have spread a bit.. Even I know that."
"Yeah, it's nothing personal but were even lucky to be trusted with such information.. On normal circumstance we wouldn't be but.. It's getting harder to hide it here in Radiance. Were we tell you could you swear not to tell a soul? It may cause a panic.."
"There already is a panic Leonard! People are scared and the rumors.. Oh forget the rules I'm saying! So at the border of Radiance is... A Blue Dragon lead by a massive army of beast and men with many elvish races as well. This is no normal Blue Dragon many think it's from the outlands but unlike other Outlands beast.. The divine protection doesn't keep it away. It can step into Radiance. No one knows for sure but... I feel it in my gut.. That thing is probably an Ancient dragon."
"Arthur! It could just be a young adult you've no evidence on that!"
"Except.. I do, at least a little haven't you noticed the king? He-"
"That's enough, we don't need to share all our secrets upon a first meeting don't you think Arthur?"
"Heh.. That's fair."
Meryln blinks looking to Corvus with a nervous smile as he ask so many questions as she begins to twirl her hair a bit.
"Well.. I study many things.. I know of history yes but my passions are of the Arcane. Once upon a time I couldn't use magic despite my family being gifted but.. Well a little bit of studying and a lot of hard work goes a long way. I've many notes on many subjects! But I can't promise it's perfect as I was wrong about Glazing Winds it seems. Still if you have any questions just ask!"
Arthur leans over to Corvus in a playful whisper loud enough for the others to easily hear.
"Don't do it man, she loves to ramble you'll be bored in no time."
"Hey!"
Leonard looks back to Drezmir on the conversation on Glazing Winds and their fearless leader.
"Good to know they are in capable hands. Meet him? Oh you may regret that.. He can be a pain in the rear but you seem pretty level headed."
Arthur had playfully pouted at Drezmir's comment on heavy armor as he flicked at Drezmir's own light armor for a moment with a grin.
"If you say so but you're missing out!"
"Ya know Arthur, there are people like me who don't have the brainless muscle to wear such a thing right?"
"Hey! Just cause someone has muscles doesn't mean their always stupid!"
"Not even gonna defend yourself on being stupid? So much for the Chevalier family pride."
"Bah forget my family, I love them but they are a bunch of blowhards more nobility than knights if you ask me. Wait Drezmir you only been a knight since this morning? You.. Met someone sent by the king? Really? What did they look like?"
Arthur was still eager to hear about Drezmir's experience with Gwen but he only seems to share the brass tacks with him.
"You didn't tell me if she was a hottie! Let me guess.. You're doing it on purpose! That's selfish! Not fair! I'll have to see for myself!"
"Arthur stop messing around or he'll think you're serious."
"Heh heh.. Kidding kidding but I always did wanna spar with Gwen I heard she's a great fighter and you're stories make me more interested! She didn't seem cold though?"
"Well the stories of her being the "Cold beauty" are for when men couldn't take a hint with her. That was when her family name still held weight however, no offense or anything. Aww thank you Drezmir I am grateful for that I would love to visit Glazing Winds myself."
Arthur offers Amon a half hearted playful bow as Leonard offers a casual wave. With Merlyn only to match his polite bow.
"Hello Amon I'd say you have 22 miles left.. Give or take a mile or two. I'd say you've got a little over 7 hours left if you keep it up at a reasonable pace. It is kind of you to offer some help Amon but as far as "Higher ups." It's just our party leader, I mean he is a noble but that doesn't mean anything in the guild."
"Nope! Which is why I joined! Plus.. They've got a great training dock for Wind Surfing!"
The groups looks to Gilded for a moment as he ask about their "boss."
"Yeah! His names Kirai (Pronounced Ki Lie) he's not the guild leader though! He's just our group strategist really. We normally follow his lead but him and Leonard bump heads sometimes."
Arthur smiles to Gilded rather brightly.
"I have to say it's pretty cool meeting a Paladin from another god! Haven't met any in Radiance that didn't worship Dawn. If it wasn't for Merlyn I may have thought you had a made up god haha!"
He said without realizing how offensive such a statement could be.
"Hey least were both a believer of heavy armor though! And a good work out!"
Though the boy may appear small in frame when he lets out a flex of his bicep it shows the broadness of his shoulders. His muscles seem to match even sir Gilded's even if his height was indeed smaller. Arthur let out a playful laugh afterwards.
"Leonard says faith and muscle doesn't win fights but I say he's wrong. Muscle and faith as done plenty for me!"
Arthur looks back over to Sy with a stunned look upon hearing his name.
"Sc.. Sy what now? Is this a real name? Or is this like one of those undercover fake names? Well if it is real hello.. Sy if that's okay? Wait boil them in armor? Well I am wearing a lot of armor! But some might say I'm so thickheaded could take a bit to boil through!! Haha! Don't worry though, with my oath I've a reluctance to kill. A paladin shouldn't stain his blade with blood yes? We should find the light in others and dedicate ourselves to devotion rather than bloodshed right?"
OOC
Amon/Drezmir for helping
Jess for not helping so far
You guys are allowed to split off as a party as well so don't feel you "have" to follow majority rules here.
Jess is hesitant to speak further. She is impatient to continue on the group's journey, and she's irritated at the prospect of a detour. But if that's what the group wants to do, she sees little point in splitting from them at this time.
Sy decided to help them. After all, he had the magic to support them. He looked up and saw the time, then started to pull out his bagpipes. He began playing the bagpipes quite well, blundering not within his playing.
Drezmir listens as Arthur tells them of a blue dragon, "Hmm, that does sound like trouble. You have my word that I won't tell anyone, there's no point in sparking fear--well, any more then there already is from the sound of it." He pauses, "Though from the sound of it it seems you have an opportunity to fulfill your goal of fighting a dragon." He smiles, "And if the opportunity arises, I would be obliged to help."
He laughs a little as Arthur and Leonard remark on heavy armor and 'stupidity'. He doesn't think that Arthur is an idiot...though he does talk a lot and doesn't seem to think much before he does. Then again, Drezmir has said things without thinking before as well, so who is he to judge?
As the paladin asks more about Gwen, Drezmir face grows hotter. But the feeling dies back as Arthur assures him that he's only kidding. Shaking his head Drezmir says, "No, she never seemed cold to me." He looks to Merlyn, "And to answer your question about the Dawn Blade, Gwen was planning on drawing it after my companions and I left. I have confidence that she will be fine, and that she will restore her family honor. Not that she needs to, but it seems that such things need to be proven to...other nobles." He rolls his eyes as he says that last part, but smiles as Merlyn thanks him.
He is glad that he isn't the only one who wants to help out with the bandits. He's eager to do something other then just travel...even though it really hasn't been that long since their last battle. Though this talk of an ancient blue dragon...and something else keeping the king busy, well he did see why it might be a good idea to simply head to the capitol. Nevertheless, he wouldn't back out after offering his help. From the sound of it this dragon has been around for a while, so a small delay to help out where they already were wouldn't make that much of a difference.
Corvus gives Arthur a flat look, "If she can tell me something i need to know, then i will not be bored." He looks back at Merlyn. "I too study the arcane, perhaps we can share knowledge. I have recently acquired some interesting books that may interest you, and like i said before, if you know anything of Celestials, Fiends, or Demons, I am interested in hearing about them." He glances at his companions then looks back at Merlyn, "Perhaps we can continue our conversation later. Many of my companions seem like they want to help you, so that is likely what i will end up doing as well."
"I do not trust many people."Gildeds eyes just barely flicker toward Corvus as he says this. "But I beleive in the intuition and faith of my companions, if they choose to help you, I will be there as well. But believe me when I say I wouldn't want to be the people to double cross us."
"Sure! We can make a contest of it! I'd love to take that thing on! Course.. I've got a lot more to learn before than!
Arthur looks to Merlyn and to Drezmir when he comments on Gwen's attitude.
"So you tamed the cold beauty? I see! You must really be something than!"
"A-Arthur! All he said was.. Ugh that she wasn't that cold. Can you make an effort to not make strangers uncomfortable?"
"Heh heh!"
Leonard and Meryln and even Arthur seem intrigued to hear about Drezmir's talk of the dawnblade. Arthur's chortles a bit on his under handed comment on nobles.
"Nobles are the worst am I right?"
"Arthur.. You're a noble."
"Not like I got a choice! Most of those guys just stuff their faces with turkey legs and tell other people what to do! Well not me! Drezmir seems to know better too! Being a noble.. Is stupid."
"Wow, way to just belittle hundreds of years of culture in just a few moments."
"Culture smulture!"
Arthur looks to Corvus and Merlyn with a shrug as Corvus tells him he won't be bored.
"You say that now but she's put me to sleep before."
"Oh ignore him, it's nice to meet another scholar actually. Well what do you wish to know Celestial's Fiends and demons or devils? I can try my best to answer what I know. Oh okay! Sure we can continue this later if you want free to write down any questions you may have.
It's than that Gilded gives his own opinion on the matter agreeing to help and perhaps even with a veiled threat. Arthur had offered Gilded a handshake with a grin.
"Welcome aboard!"
Leonard had crossed his arms looking to the dragonborn cautiously.
"Understandable, trust is a two way street. I only have this to say. We are one's to double cross either. Meryln and Arthur may seem friendly but they are plenty strong."
Leonard had given the dragonborn a harsh stare as Merlyn offered an awkward chuckle to the rising tension. Arthur himself however waved his hand.
"Oh Leonard he's just playing around! It's a paladin thing you wouldn't get it!"
"Arthur.. You need to be more careful but I feel as if I'll repeat myself for all of eternity if I must say that every time you are so careless. If you will not watch you're own back than you can look to the front. I will watch you're back for you."
"Awe thanks! So do you guys wanna split up into the mountains looking for the stragglers? Or stick together perhaps? I'll leave up to you guys."
"Two groups we could cover ground faster, but as one group we prove more formidable either strategy seems like a practical one. Together there is a total of ten of us not exactly a small search party. I appreciate you offering you're help by the way, I hope you didn't feel pressured into doing so simply because our group was separated."
"Splitting up seems like a good idea. The stragglers will be trying to get away, and we need to cover more ground or they could slip by us. I will lead one group in the hunt."
Drez laughs, "Sure. Though from the sound of it I'm not sure if we'd have much time to prepare."
He does his best to hide his surprise when Arthur continues to press the subject of Gwen. At this point he really hopes that Merlyn succeeds in getting him to drop the subject. For some reason it did make Drez a little uncomfortable...
He is a little surprised at Gilded for his behavior towards the trio, but he doesn't remark on it. When Leonard jumps into the conversation, Drezmir waves his hands and says, "How 'bout no double crossing" He chuckles, "I'm willing to trust you three if you're willing to trust us."
He nods to Merlyn, "I think Jess here is right. I'm pretty sure our groups are pretty capable of handling whatever bandits we find, so it would make more sense to try and cover more ground. Though, if anyone thinks it would be beneficial to split up into more even groups...or smaller groups for that matter, we could do that as well."
"If you want to make the two groups more even, I will join the trio of newcomers, and Drezmir can lead the rest of our group. But we should go now, every minute counts."
"Awesome! We get the pretty Genasi! Sounds great to me!"
"Keep comments like that up and I'm sure she'll come to regret it."
"Wait.. Really? Heh.. Whoops!"
Leonard's gaze is cut short by Drezmir's hand waving and calm attitude. Leonard blinks for a moment before allowing himself to chuckle for a moment.
"The road makes us all a little weary I suppose, it seems I have forgot myself. I'm protective when it comes to my party but that's nothing unique isn't it? When you fight alongside others who have picked you up when you have fallen or defended you from blood blows you can't help but grow a little fond of them right? Even if they are clueless sometimes. I suppose Gilded is just trying to look after his own friends in the same manner. So that's four of us and six of you.. Do another one of you wish to join us?
Once the parties go and get somewhat close to where they might encounter the bandits, she intends to shapeshift into a wolf to aid in the tracking of the bandits. The wolf’s fur will have a blue tint and a flowing quality as if wet and waving in water.
"Wait me? Why would you want me to lead?" Drezmir is surprised at Jess's suggestion. "Wouldn't Gilded be the better option?" He inadvertently rubs his wrist, where the black mark has been replaced by a snowflake. "If Gilded wants to lead this group, I would be fine going wherever I'm needed." He looks to the Dragonborn, hoping the paladin will want to take command.
Corvus completely ignores Arthur and replies to Merlyn. "I will not forget these questions. They are some that i have been trying to find answers to for a long time." He inclines his head, "I look forward to studying with you."
Looking back to the group he listen's to Jess's plan. Then he looks to Kocino when he speaks up. "Might i suggest that I go with these young ones in your stead? If you leave, our companions will only have one healer." He nods to Gilded. "If I accompany Jess and the others, each group will have two capable of such magic.... Assuming this young paladin hasn't been skipping his arcane studies."
(Syk might have healing since he is a bard, but Corvus doesn't know that)

"Does this boss of yours have a name?" Gilded asks. "And what makes him a boss? Is he the leader of this 'Radiants shining guild'?"
Gilded finds a lot of the answers he is getting and hearing do not really add up. He is less and less trusting of this group the more they talk.
'A paladin taking bounty to hunt marks, weird guild name, etc.'

"I do not trust many people." Gildeds eyes just barely flicker toward Corvus as he says this. "But I beleive in the intuition and faith of my companions, if they choose to help you, I will be there as well. But believe me when I say I wouldn't want to be the people to double cross us."
Arthur looks at Drezmir and gives a nod.
Jess says,
"Splitting up seems like a good idea.
Jess says,
"If you want to make the two groups more even, I will join the trio of newcomers, and Drezmir can lead the rest of our group.
“I can join. Make the groups an even split.” Kocino pulls out his frying pan and begins twirling it in his hand.
FYI
