(( Hey guys bad news but I’m going off grid today for the rest of the week. I might be able to post a couple of times, maybe only once or twice though. I’ll be back on Sunday.

(No worries T0dd0! Hope it's nothing to bad! (Or maybe i'm reading that wrong and you are going on vacation! lol) Anyways, take care! I'll leave the decision of who bots Jess up to Shield. ;) )
Jess and Drezmir certainly had their work cut out for them, with Corvus stalking and Sy playing music. Sy's performance wasn't so bad a proper audience would have been grateful. However they were starving Shadir Kai and were instead simply ignoring the outsider while also trying to ignore their own hunger.
The woman had looked to Corvus pretty much state that he would be skulking about, she of course hadn't taken this so lightly. She had sent a few men about the camp, many even to go and hide and prepare.. Just in case. She didn't hide this fact either. Corvus was however impossible to find in the camp quiet as a mouse. However any clues or hiding men to find? He couldn't find anything either way.
Though her people had helped and Kocino was doing well it took.. A long time as Jess and Drezmir tired on. It was about nightfall by the time the meal was complete. The woman had gone to Kocino.
"As we agreed you all will be eating first, though keeping an eye on you.. I doubt you did anything to the food but I'm going to be careful."
Kocino steps forward as the first one to make a plate. He sits down and makes sure to eat a bite of every part of the meal in front of the woman. “Ma’am, if there is one thing I hold sacred and take seriously, it is my cooking. Even if my food doesn’t turn out, I refuse to have it sullied over some petty arguments of the threat of death. And looking at your pantry, even on a bad day this will be one of the better meals you’ve had in some time.
Kocino looks to his friends. “Grab some food. We’ve earned ourselves a good meal.”
"Alek! That's my name! I'm willing to try but.. I'm not very good!"
True to the boys word he wasn't much help but hopefully he was able to learn a thing or two.
As the food was placed upon the table the Shadir Kai woman had waited for the party to begin eating first. Desite Kocino's words she was not convinced. However once she had finally started eating her stern face began to weaken slowly. Raising the bowl as she began to dig in. Every ravenous fight every joyous slurp as she hadn't slowed down her people had also ate with a similar gusto!
By the time every plate was delved into, every steaming hot bowl explored she had slammed her last bowl upon the table looking at Kocino before looking to his comrades.
"Zenta.. Zenta's my name, and thank you.. For the food. So, may I ask what brings a Tiefling and a Shadir Kai to Radiance? The new laws do protect Tieflings but.. Most still don't prefer it here I must say."
"Well Alek," Drezmir smiles down at the boy. "Willingness means you're already halfway to success. Just listen to Kocino, and we'll help you learn. Heh, when it comes to fancy meals, I don't know much myself. So we'll learn together yes?" He ruffles Alek's hair, then moves to start helping.
Once it's all finished, he looks around for Corvus--the grumpy bird likely just didn't want to help out with the meal-making, but at the same time Drez can't blame him for his cautiousness. So, he feels it only right to let the warlock know that there is food here for him too. If he manages to spot Corvus, he'll wave to him to let him know. Then he'll head back into the tent to claim his portion--and to ensure that Alek gets his share too. Even if the boy wasn't terribly helpful, at least he'd tried.
He hands the dish to Alek saying, "Well, you've got a lot to learn, but this was a start. Now you should enjoy the fruits of your labor."
He'll take a seat beside Kocino, and watches in satisfaction as Zenta's stern demeanor slowly melted away. He doesn't butt into the conversation, realizing these were words meant only for Kocino and Sy.
”I can’t speak for him, but I’ve been out traveling for some time. The goal has been to hone my craft and see what tricks I can pick up along the way. A few of us met in Glazing Winds. We helped out the locals and found that we were fairly effective as a group. Now we are just trying to make our way, but we look out for each other.” Kocino pulls out some parchment and begins writing with Mage Hand. “So, I must ask, why the interest in us at the tavern? And what is your group’s purpose? I can’t say I’ve found myself in a situation like this before.”
Sy looks blankly at the one who inquired about why exactly he is here.
‘’Well, I brought myself along with this group of travellers for a few reasons. I have been exploring on my own for some time and it would be more practical to travel with a group. Along with that, they have had a friend kidnapped by a criminal organisation whom I plan on rescuing. Besides, it can earn me some extra money.’’
Irritated that he didn't find out much about this group, Corvus barely notices Drezmir waving him down. With obvious hesitation, he slowly descends from his vantage point above the camp. The food does smell good. He glances around one last time before entering the tent. Once inside, he makes sure to grab himself some of the food before standing off to the side to eat and listen to the conversation. He's still not sure what to make of this woman.
When Kocino asks the very question he had initially asked the leader, he eagerly awaits her answer. However when Sy answers, he lets out a quiet "Tch". The first part of what the Teifling said makes perfect sense to him. After all, it is a very similar reason that he himself remains with the group. The second part though.... What game is this man playing? If he had wanted to save Vex, he's a long ways away from fulfilling a goal he could have easily reached the night the dragonborn had been taken. All he had needed to do was sound an alarm, and the whole village would likely have awoken to rescue one of their 'heroes'. Corvus's red eyes flash as he looks over the Teifling again. Perhaps the man really is just sticking around for extra money. He can't blame him for that...so long as he doesn't get in his way he can serve as an extra body. Corvus has not seen him do much of anything other than play those bloody bagpipes almost nonstop....Most of this party has earned at least a little respect from the Warlock, however, the masked Teifling will have to do quite a bit in order to gain even a shred of that respect.
Alek had chuckled when Drezmir had patted him upon the head. A determined nod in response to what Drezmir had told the boy.
The woman.. Zenta had listened to Kocino speak a bit before responding.
"So.. Did you come to Radiance for work? Our group? It's hardly a group.. The boss keeps us going though. Honestly, I just wanna help these people. Since our scouts heard of the blue dragons army.. Things have been rough around here. The vintsvents used to help our kind but lately have been... Busy."
She had listened to Sy talk of a group that kidnapped someone she had pondered upon it for a moment.
"The only ones I know that go into human trafficking are the white wolves.. Many said they are destroyed here in Radiance but they are around. We pay them for "Protection" more so the fact they'd destroy us if we didn't. It's likely they may have took you're friend. Hope you told them everything you had to, cause I doubt you'll see them again."
"It seems our fine feathered friend has finally joined us, well as promised due to the meal you are all free to go. I've watched you.. Along with the others I can hope to at least.. Manage the basics from here on out."
"You want a meeting with the Vintsvents? Ahh.. A noble may be able to help you or some sorta knight. I'd be willing to give you a map, an old entrance through the sewer long forgotten.. Least I presume it's forgotten we''ve never used it. The boss found it awhile ago and he's only ever gone in the once. What can I tell you about them..? Before recent events they had traveled the town.. Even checking the slums and on us. Edward Vintsvent is the king along with his wife Vanessa they rule Radiance. They have two sons... Well had two sons apparently the elder son has passed away. The younger son is an introvert and never makes any public meetings, many people thought he was private but.. Edward himself has told us his son is just a very anxious man. People aren't happy about that, his elder son Frederick was a very a man both in body and mind. The kinda leader the humans here were hoping to revere for some time."
Corvus listens intently to this conversation. These people don't seem to see the Vintsvents in a poor light, that could mean a number of things. The king and his wife could very well be good people, or they could be simply acting. He supposes they will find that out soon.
Two sons eh? And the elder has passed away, leaving his introverted brother as the heir. Interesting. Perhaps this younger brother is the one pulling the strings? A wolf in sheep's clothing?
Finishing his meal and setting down his bowl, he speaks up. "May I ask how you view this situation? Do you think the Vintsvents are fair rulers? And...has there been any reason to believe there has been some sort of foul play in the elder brother's death? Has his death even been confirmed?" The warlock wants to ask more, specifically about their boss, but he feels like that may be overstepping it for him. He hadn't exactly given these people any reason to like him.

At Kocino's request for help, Jess will end her wolf form and assist with the cooking, taking whatever instructions are given to her.

OOC: Just wondering what the kid's responses were to Drez's questions. :)

Jess is not going to miss the opportunity to eat a meal prepared by Kocino. She will dig in with generous portions.

OOC: no worries!
Jess listens intently to the conversation, pushing a few last morsels of food around on her plate.

(Once again, imma apologize for Corvus.)
(Perfectly fine! Sy is the most cryptic and unpredictable characters I have ever made. You can’t read the guy)
