Tandor sighs. "I understand but a sniff isn't enough and that's too much money for a sip. Thanks anyway. Pelor's blessings on you." He bows slightly and moves to the door. "Thanks for coming in here with me, guys."
The shopkeep seems a bit disappointed, but dubious. However, his attention is soon taken by another patron walking in and asking to see what is available.

Mialee goes outside with the others and finds a market stall selling something vaguely relating to cooking and loiters near it by an alleyway for the meetup with the assistant.
((She doesn't immediately follow you all out, if you're lingering nearby and trying to not be suspicious, I'll take a group Performance check, if you want to just roam the market for other things that might be of interest and trust her to catch up to you, let me know where you're headed.))

"Mmmmm... How about that materials shop down the way? Might have some useful items for the artificer-y types among us, and we have a good line of sight, so it shouldn't be too hard for the assistant to quickly find us. Also, now that I think about it, I saw some interesting golden tents near the center- perhaps not a good place to go right now, but perhaps we should see what's what down there."
edited to actually write the post, i hit send too early lol
You head further along, wending your way through the crowds and cacophony. The three golden tents in the sunken plaza are larger than a half dozen or more of the smaller tent shops, and even though they are lower, the tops still protrude up enough to be visible throughout the fair-like atmosphere.
((Image description: Three large tents in the center of a map, with concentric circles of smaller tents surrounding them in somewhat concentric rings, interrupted by established pathways extending in the cardinal directions. The smaller shops number well over a hundred.))
You find a shop that seems to be somewhat of a graveyard for failed or abandoned projects and scrap... and artificer's dream.
((Is there anything particular of interest you're looking for, or just killing time somewhere interesting?))

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mialee wanders over to the trinketry shop as well, trying to find any interesting arrows or arrowheads that could carry messages, poisons, or otherwise be useful. She's hoping to find something she can replicate with the help of House Kundarak especially.
investigation or perception if you need it (same bonus): 13
While the shop doesn't have any arrows or arrowheads made and ready to go, there's a variety of components that Mialee is certain that she could talk Dain or Alston into helping tinker up into various means of deploying interesting things that could be attached to an arrow without horribly throwing off their balance.
A goblin crone tottles up to Mialee, peering at her over grimy spectacles that she takes off and rubs on her work apron, managing to leave a smear of grease across one lens. "You see something you like? You tell Granny Boom-Boom! Lots just want to look, you should buy! Good stuff!"
She picks up a piece of gear and shakes it for emphasis, and some remaining mechanism starts whirring as it starts rotating and sparking. She tosses it in a heap where it subsides. "See! Still lively! Hahaeee!"
((I have some ideas, but with your roll, I think you could purchase whatever gp worth of materials you want to buy, and collaborate with Dain/Alston on some checks to make whatever you design that would fall within the material costs, with input from me? Just let me know what you want to spend, and you can make a Persuasion check with advantage. Rather than lowering the cost, the check will influence how much crafting material value you can get for what you're willing to pay.))

Liber doesn't spot anything nearby, but does see some what must be magical sparks shooting out into the night sky maybe a quarter of the way around the market.

<I see plenty of things, but what I smell is shrimp.>, Gilbert sends, licking his lips.
There's the chaotic bustle of the market, but the other patrons seem to be involved in their own business, and paying the party no more than passing acknowledgement.

"Sounds like a wise decision; and where there is artifice, there is the possibility of other wonders." Liber agrees with Mialee's suggestion.
"Let's go," Tandor says enthusiastically.
