Zephyros stops his tower about 5 miles south west of Bryn Sander and levitates the party and their 2 horses to the ground. He wishes you well then ascends back into his tower and departs. You are now at the northern most edge of civilization, the air is frigid and the land is frozen solid. In order to find shelter form the icy winds you mount your horses, Rosella riding behind Tyshlen, and head towards town.
Here is what you know about Bryn Shander:
"Bryn Shander is the largest of ten settlements known collectively as Ten-Towns, located in the frigid heart of Icewind Dale. Here, caravans from the south converge with traders from across Icewind Dale to swap goods and rumors. Fishers, trappers, furriers, and sellswords rub elbows in the town’s taprooms, and gruff dwarves, wide-eyed travelers, and skulking ne’er-do-wells wander its streets. Merchants from the south trade dyes, hardwood, dried herbs and spices, textiles, fruits, wines, and other commodities for scrimshaw and other items made from the bones of the knucklehead trout that populate the region’s rivers and lakes.
The town is situated atop a hill south of the mountain known as Kelvin’s Cairn, a major landmark in Icewind Dale. From its windswept perch, Bryn Shander has a commanding view of the surrounding tundra, and an attacking force must climb the barren hillside under fire from archers before it can assault the outer wall. The circular wall that surrounds Bryn Shander stands 30 feet high and is made of tight-fitting stone blocks.
Each community in Ten-Towns has an elected speaker who leads the residents and represents their interests. The current speaker of Bryn Shander is Duvessa Shane. She has appointed Markham Southwell as her sheriff, making him responsible for training the town’s militia and keeping the peace."
Two 30-foot-tall cylindrical stone towers flank the gate and watch over the trail that leads into town. The gates of Bryn Shander stand open, as the three of you pass through a friendly looking Dwarven woman approaches you with a smile.
“Well met, travelers! Keep yer fingers and extremities under wraps, lest Auril bite them off! Mind yer tempers, and you’ll be most welcome here! Brought goods to sell? The market lies straight ahead. Craving a warm drink? May I recommend a drop of Firebeard’s Firebrandy, sold only at Kelvin’s Comfort, located on yer right as you enter the market square, and you can find stables for your fine mounts right across the street!”
She gestures towards the stables conveniently located just inside the town walls.
"Augrek Brighthelm is me name, Sheriff's Deputy."
She looks at Tyshlen and Rosella and says,
"Oh, and just up the road here, about halfway to the market you will find the House of the Triad, if ye be needin ta spend a little time at a temple while in town."
At the mention of the House of the Triad, Rosella jumps off the horse and looks at the two of you motioning with her hands to indicate that she is going to the temple, and then runs off before you can say anything.
Augrek watches the strange tiefling girl run off and says, "My she must be a devout one, don't worry she will be safe at the temple."
You can add tooltips and stuff as well with the same bracket system if you replace roll with stuff like skill ie: perception its all in the faq forum. but you guys don't have to worry about using all that unless you feel like it.
Jones follows Rosella to a large stone building, which stands out from the surrounding wooden structures that make up most of the buildings in Bryn Shander. The structure itself is rather impressive, the stone crafted by very skilled hands, clearly dwarf work. After tying his horse's reigns to a post out front Jones heads into the temple.
Inside you find a large main chamber filled with pews, various small alters line the walls. At the back of the room is a large altar and three towering statues depicting the Triad. Rosella goes immediately to the one on the right side, the statue depicts a man who looks starved and beaten and has his hands bound in front of him. She kneels before the statue of Illmater and remains motionless.
There are a handful of people about the temple most of them look to be commoners. One man in the room is clearly a priest, he is currently engaged in what appears to be light conversation with another man who has the look of a fisherman about him.
"Well Sirac, if you are so impatient to start your new life in service of Torm you could ask Sherriff Southwell if he is in need of help. I've been hearing rumors of unrest amongst the giants, it's likely that if that's true there may be a rise in goblins and ogres and such coming down from the mountains, Markham may be looking for people willing to go out looking for any danger on its way. Unfortunately for the time being I am in charge of this temple and little time to teach you, but in a couple mounts we are supposed to get a priest of Tyr in from Neverwinter to take over for me, and then I would be glad to have you travel with me and learn all I can teach you of Torm."
Sirac (the fisherman) replies,
"It's strange, patience has always come so easily to me, but since I have come here and met you and discovered Torm, I can hardly sit still."
The priest laughs,
"The calling is strong in you my friend, you will make Torm proud."
These are the gods depicted by the statues. Tyr the Maimed God, god of justice (on the left), Ilmater the Broken God, god of suffering and compassion (leaning on Tyr), and Torm the True, god of duty. They are referred to as the Triad.
Jones would like to stick one leg way out and step down towards the two men. And slowly, drag his other leg towards them.(very cartoony, like the lead leg grows an extra foot longer, and the back leg also gets longer while dragging) And then say out loud " my friends and I have business with the sheriff as well, would you like to join us in meeting him?"

People are strange

Jones would like to follow rosella to the temple

Test roll
An odd choice for Jones, but ok.
Jones is chaotic neutral, he sees her interest in the temple and can't help but be curious.
There are a handful of people about the temple most of them look to be commoners. One man in the room is clearly a priest, he is currently engaged in what appears to be light conversation with another man who has the look of a fisherman about him.
Jones would like to move close enough to hear what the priest and fisherman are talking about. But not look like he is prying into their conversation.
The priest is saying to the fisherman,
"Well Sirac, if you are so impatient to start your new life in service of Torm you could ask Sherriff Southwell if he is in need of help. I've been hearing rumors of unrest amongst the giants, it's likely that if that's true there may be a rise in goblins and ogres and such coming down from the mountains, Markham may be looking for people willing to go out looking for any danger on its way. Sirac.
I have no picture of the Priest.
