The two men see Jones approach, walking as though he were trying to stretch his legs as he walks. After Jones addresses the men, the priest steps forward and says,
"Traveller, I wonder if perhaps you are more in need of a doctor than a Sheriff? You seem to be having some trouble walking."
Sirac adds,
"I've seen something like this, I think. Have you been at sea for awhile, my friend? Pain in your joints and muscles? Could be Scurvy, I think I saw a fresh shipment of fruit from down south come in but 3 days ago. You should be able to find a few Oranges of Lemons still for sale at the market."
What is Tyshlen's faith? Who amongst the forgotten realms pantheon is his god? Dose not have to be one of the Triad, there are small shrines to all of the good and neutral gods here.
Jones suggests that we get some fruit on the way to meeting the sheriff. If that is amenable to Sirac. And then explains to the priest that he is fine to walk for many miles. And that his strange gait is common among dragonborns.
If tylshen and rosella would like to hang at the temple while sirac and Jones talk the sheriff. It seems like they have some business here. We could always bring the sheriff back to meet the rest of us.
Jones then deposits one of the two gem stones(=100gp)he has into the donation box. Slaps sirac on the back and says to "let's make that God of yours proud, and eat lots of fruit"
"That's most generous of you stranger. May the Triad watch over you."
the priest says, when he sees Jones make his donation.
Sirac looks at the Dragonborn and says,
"I would come with you but I have duties to attend here before I go out taking up any new professions. But you should find the sheriff easy enough without my guidance, just head up the road to the market and look for the Town Hall. Sheriff Markham's office is there, though he is rarely in, but someone there will be able to tell you where he is at the moment."
Rosella remains motionless apparently in a deep trance.
Jones and tyshlen make their way out of the temple, stopping by rosella for a moment and say to her " stay here and we will return shortly" but before we meet this sheriff Jones wants to get some fruit.
Rosella is in a weird trance and you get the feeling she will be fine here while you two go take care of some business.
You make your way to the market. The marketplace is a roughly circular space in the center of town where local and foreign traders sell their wares. Tents and covered wagons provide some shelter against the cold wind, but not much. In a few places, campfires with people huddled around them crackle and smoke.
As you enter the square Tyshlen takes notice of a Haggard looking young woman dressed in furs with boots too big for her feet moving through the crowd and tending the fires for tips. She seems to take notice of the two newcomers but pretends not to when Tyshlen spots her.
Jones spots a small stand sparsely stocked with fruits, a burly looking human man stands behind the cart occasionally calling out to passers by, “Fresh fruit, brought in by ship just this morning, good for what ails ya!”
Jones asks the man " how much fruit do you have here? If I give you 45 gold pieces, will you give myself and my friend here 2 (insert fruit here) each. And then deliver the rest of your stock of fruit for the day to the temple of the triad?"
The man looks at Jones and laughs, “I would indeed do that for for 45 gold, and with a smile on me face, and then I’d go home and pack me bags and buy me and me bride passage on the next ship out o’ this frozen hell, and we’d be eternally grateful to ya for it! But for real now, what can I interest ye in friend?” He gestures towards his display which contains a modest assortment of fruits and few barrels full of potatoes and other tubers.
Jones looks him square in the eyes, squints, and says "you are going to do precisely that, without haste, without faulter, without any sloth. You are going to take this fruit and provisions to that temple right now." Jones then hands him the 45gp with one hand, with the other grabs the man's wrist and holds on to it. Saying " this is of the utmost importance and if you fail to deliver this, or do not get on the next ship out of here. I will find you, and I will sacrifice you myself to ilmater." Then takes a few pieces of fruit and potatoes for himself and Tyshlen. And turn to walk away.
The man goes wide eyed and speechless as Jones hands him a small fortune and ominous threat at the same time. As soon as Jones tuns to walk away the vendor begins frantically packing his goods Into his cart and starts running towards the temple With a ridiculous smile plastered across his delighted and terrified face., periodically a piece of fruit is launched from the cart and the man stops to go running after each piece before continuing on his way.
Bryn Shander’s town hall is the largest building that borders the central square. It is reserved for community feasts and gatherings on various holy days and other notable events. The hall can also accommodate refugees from neighboring settlements in times of emergency, but today it stands empty. In the back of the hall is a short flight of stone steps that lead down to a sunken cellar with walls of frozen, hard-packed earth. The cellar has been converted into a sheriff’s office and an adjoining jail cell.
As the two adventurers make their way to the town hall Tyshlen sees the woman he had noticed before watching them with some interest. The two make their way into the hall and down to the Sherriff's office. there they find a young man, late 20s, wearing a badge that indicates him to be a deputy. The deputy is sitting in a chair behind a desk, leaning back on the two back legs of the chair with his feet upon the desk. His hat is pulled down over his eyes and he appears to be sleeping.

Tyshlen is checking out the temple rekindling his faith silently

Well Tyshlen, what do you say, wana go meet this sheriff?
Yes I do let’s roll
Jones and tyshlen make their way out of the temple, stopping by rosella for a moment and say to her " stay here and we will return shortly" but before we meet this sheriff Jones wants to get some fruit.
Ha ha, ok.
Rosella is in a weird trance and you get the feeling she will be fine here while you two go take care of some business.
You make your way to the market. The marketplace is a roughly circular space in the center of town where local and foreign traders sell their wares. Jones sees the man doing this and turns to Tyshlen and says " that will be the best boat ride of his entire life"
Jones and Tyshlen make their way to the Town Hall. And look around/ask around for the sheriff.
Bryn Shander’s town hall is the largest building that borders the central square. It is reserved for community feasts and gatherings on various holy days and other notable events. The hall can also accommodate refugees from neighboring settlements in times of emergency, but today it stands empty. Jones would like to get very close to the deputy and try to wake him gently.
wake him gently how? think carefully on that cause this will determine what skill I make you roll.
