Seria (Female Dragon-In-Disguise Sorcerer, Draconic Bloodline)
Icarus says "Good eye Princess and good question Ziode. There may be more to this than we originally thought. Lets follow those tracks but be on guard."
Icarus sends his owl ahead to scout, with directions to let him know if he sees anything.
[Oh, hey, I forgot to call it out: since this is a new episode, you've all leveled up to level 4! And had plenty of days to rest so you're all at full hit points etc]
Icarus's owl [do they have a name?] scouts ahead but sees nothing much until the tracks, which Zoide thinks were made by some large humanoid, disappear into the cave. You follow into the mouth of the cave, and after a short distance, the fifteen-foot-wide passage opens into a large, rough chamber with a sunken floor. A misshapen, vaguely oblong lump of metal sits in the middle of the chamber. A sliver of light streaming down on it from a hole in the cavern's ceiling gives it a dark-blue sheen. Hovering near the meteorite are two identical creatures, each one a slimy green orb with a large central eye and four writhing eyestalks. Gathered around them are half a dozen smaller creatures of similar shape, each no bigger than a grapefruit. Sitting on a five-foot-high shelf overlooking the chamber is a massive, yellow-skinned ogre with one cyclopean eye. The ogre yawns and blinks slowly, appearing rather tired.
The larger creatures' eyestalks move animatedly, as if they're having a silent conversation. The smaller creatures look on, appearing nervous.
[As usual I've scattered you fairly randomly near where you entered the cave from the north-west passage; feel free to shuffle your exact positions. Are you approaching stealthily, or do you announce your presence?]
"Hmm... there's our target. Guess the footprints must belong to that... hideous creature? He looks rather drowsy though." Eris mutters as she signals the crew not to start a fight yet until she's analysed the situation properly. "Let's move in slowly. I'm pretty confident we can all settle this without picking a fight. Also who are those guys floating around the place? Are they his pets or something? What's with their business with the stone?"

Seria (Female Dragon-In-Disguise Sorcerer, Draconic Bloodline)
Princess not needing to be told that killing everything on sight is a poor decision loop, also enters stealthily, she wracks her brain trying to think if she has ever heard of or encountered any of these creatures before.

Floating spherical body, large central eye and multiple eyestalks, sure matches the descriptions you've heard of beholders [Give me an Arcana check for any more]
(How big is the meteor? Could my owl fly in and pick it up? Could I pick it up?)
Icarus whispers "Maybe my owl can get it or I can cast invisibility and get it. If needed I can teleport out so no one gets hurt."
It looks to be around two feet long and maybe one-and-a-half across; small enough that you could easily fit it lengthwise into the opening of the bag of holding, but large enough that, if it's as metallic as it looks from here, it would have to weigh hundreds of pounds; you wouldn't be able to lift it yourself, let alone your familiar, though Da'Kal with her barbarian muscles might be able to manage it.
Of course, there's also the creatures hovering around it, which even if you were invisible and could get it into the bag silently, might notice if it suddenly vanished…
[And speaking of being noticed, let's do a quick group stealth check to make sure you haven't been spotted already]
There's a tense moment when Zoide's foot sends a pebble clattering down the slope, and you all hold your breath for several second, but the creatures seem engrossed in their… conversation? argument? and don't notice you.

Princess will tap Icarus on the shoulder “Oi Icrus. Summat waddled o der wit summat wot mih be yer stroid.” She points at the cave entrance.
“Oi Icrus. Something waddled over there with something what might be your asteroid.”
[It's easy enough to follow the tracks, assuming that's what you want to do, but someone give me a quick Wisdom (Survival) check anyway]
