DM: Nice but remember at Nat 20 is always max damage so that would be 20 damage.
As Moss releases the arrow a there is a breeze as if an unnamed god of nature is guiding the path. The arrow strikes home causing the Goblin's head to pop off and fly through the air.
The crowd goes crazy at such and epic end to the fight.
Dan voice is booms over the roar of the crowd.
What a fight this team will be one to watch folks. Please enjoy a short break while we clear the feild for the next match.
The blue portal reappears and you escorted to the apartments you will be staying at for the competition.
In the center of the common room is your winnings and a note on tomorrow's match.
DM: The party earns 239 gold to split up. You can buy anything you like with your gold just let me know what you want and I'll let you know the price. (I typically use standard prices for all non magical items).
(So thats 59 gold each, someone gets 60) I know I don't have enough yet, but how much for a belt of giant strength? )
Kileprat will go up to 25hp (add 10 base)
She will gain the following features:
Reckless AttackPHB, pg. 48
When you make your first attack on your turn, you can decide to attack recklessly, giving you advantage on melee weapon attack rolls using STR during this turn, but attack rolls against you have advantage until your next turn.
Danger SensePHB, pg. 48
You have advantage on DEX saving throws against effects that you can see while not blinded, deafened, or incapacitated.
Sweet... Guess were doing our long rest... I will not be buying anything this round.
I am ready for round 2 whenever you guys are... I like this idea you have. Its nice to roleplay, but I like the thought of just fighting your way up.. cool concept.
Ok you can bet on yourself. 50% increase if you survive. The bookies will rig the match against you if you bet and win too much or have a very large bet.
Sorry for the delay on my end - busy Friday wrapping up the week at work. Just levelled up Aino. She may also bet on herself if she has any gold left over.
She's a bladesinger now at level 2 so will need studded leather, which I assume is the standard 45gp.
While Bladesinging: (twice per long rest currently) * +5 AC, so AC when bladesinging will be 21 instead of 16. * +10' Movement so 40' movement instead of 30' * +5 bonus to CON saves to maintain concentration on spells (so +9 instead of +4). * Advantage on Acrobatics checks * Bladesong ends after 1 minute (10 rounds) or if she uses a 2-handed weapon (like her longbow) or medium or heavy armor or a shield (which she won't).
To the rest of her companions, Aino will say "Well fought. My Sleep spell was less effective than I had hoped there but at least it used up the orc's turn to wake the goblin up. Last thing he ever did, thanks to you all."
Her snowy owl familiar, Thumbtack looks at her, eyes unblinking, as if communicating something. Aino tilts her head, listening, then nods.
"Heard we are fighting a changeling in the fog? So I'm thinking they can change to look like any of us. We need to find each other and have a signal to identify ourselves. Best if it is a bit subtle and not just yelling our name maybe? Like tapping our hip lightly? Maybe Grock tap once, Kileprat twice, Mossifer thrice and me four times. You see an ally in the fog, you tap your hip the right number of times to show it's really you. Then stick together."
She grins. "Open to other ideas, of course. Let's hear them. And this time, I'll be up in melee with you warriors."
Attack 17
Shooting the goblin with an arrow that Anio hit, and moving closer to the goblin
(provided they live I think I am in melee range on my next turn?)
Damage 4
Hit the Goblin is on deaths door (you are 10 feet away if I'm tracking everyone's position right)
Order: Moss, Goblin Aino Kileprat Grock
Moss is up.
Moss will nock an arrow and shoot it at the heavily wounded goblin, trying to finish it off.
Hit: NAT 20 -> 26 / Damage: 7 Piercing
(OOC: I am rolling everything in game log. I've never rolled this good on D&D beyond before.)

Area: Standard
Weather: Fog

Level up to level 2.
Kileprat will gather her javelins before going into the portal.

A hill giant belt will cost 1d10 x 500 gp. So it will cost you 7x500
Dam bad luck so 5000 for the belt of hill giant strength. The party will have chances to earn magic items as the rewards get progressively better.
Is there a way we could place wagers on our match? Moss would save 10gp and gamble the other 49gp on their party winning the next match.
Might as well, if we don't win, we die.. lol
Ya could be fun. Let me think about how I want to work it

I would like to bet 50 gp if that doesn't seem obsessive. Damn belt cost 5k. Lol

She probably won't be able to afford these now, but how much for:
- A Cloak of Protection
- A Rapier, +1
- An Arcane Grimoire (+1 variety)
- A Broom of Flying
(All uncommon magic items).
And 50gp for potions of healing?
