The three people talking and the child all look at the tabaxi, three of them with fear while the other simply looks annoyed to be bothered once more. The old woman looks baxk to the adults in the house. "I am taking my payment now go eat your dream pastries and enjoy your happy visions." She then yanks the child closer to herself as she turns to Patch. "They are an escape from the wretchedness of this land. It gives the poor folk a repite from their horrid lives."

Joye glares a little at Patch for his rudeness. I'm sorry ma'am, were new here and are trying to find our way home. What causes such a lack of joy and happiness ?

Patch quickly steps in front of Joye her one good eye glaring at the old lady “so basically you’re profiting off of someone else’s despair by selling these” 

The old woman clutches the child closer to her as he and the parents still at the door recoil in shock of Joye. The party has noticed by now that they have only seen human residdnts of this village so far. "It should be obvious even to you outsider. The sun never shines and they must forever live in fear of the one that resides in the castle." She raises a wrinkled hand and points off to where a castle sits on a large hill in the distance.

She then turns to Patch with a glare. "Whatever you are creature I would not be quick to judge when you do not even understand the land you are in."

“Hmm” Patch whispers in “don’t worry, I get it” she then slightly moves back “is there some kind of tavern here or”

The parents that are still in the door look at the party as the old woman points to one of the buildings that they had passed while following her down the street.

To Sentinel There is a sixteen year old girl that has gone missing. Her mother fears she is dead. I would like to try to find her.

“I say we head to the tavern that’s the place to learn what we need”

Matrick grabs his party members arms and pulls them all close, not roughly but urgently, on the way to the tavern. He whispers "You guys that child belongs to that family, not her. Why would they let their child out of the house when she just pointed out the very obvious dread and danger?" But he makes no move to take action, as he is new to this land and theirs may be a culture he has yet to understand.

(Elite is weirded the eff out.) Matrick is confused and conflicted. Not wanting to offend or cause unneeded trouble he just points out that fact quietly and leaves the woman be.

Since the party has made no move to stop her the old woman will pull the child along as she makes to leave the house. It appears that she is going to make her way out of the village as she has no pastries left on her cart to sell.

I say we just go to the church and see what we can learn there. Are you guys ok with that?
