Can you imagine how it feels to loose your home at the hands of a conflict fought by others on your land? I think it is fair to sypathize with all involved.
"I'm not saying we shouldn't take refugees in, but I guess I'm just saying everyone's got their reasons. Some people are struggling to leave the war behind."
Aurora smiles and shakes her head in amusement at the debate... and almost joins in but thinks better of it so instead bites her tongue and listens in order to get to know her would-be partners and traveling companions a little better following along on foot for now towards their intended destination.
Naedash takes in the surrounding area with no noticeable emotion, but then says, "The moral outlook of the group deemed enemies seems relevant. That's why stories of the Last War always confused me. No group could clearly say who was right and who was wrong. No room for such confusion among the Ghaash'kala. This is why I have struggled with this place."
"No one should ever be treated badly for something they can't control." Laydd turns his unblinking eyes to Ander "Can you control being from Sharn? Should I treat you worse for it?"
“I get what your all saying, and I agree with you. Unfortunately we aren’t in the kindest area of Sharn. Not everyone here is accepting of outsiders as they should be.”
As much as I love the political debating, perhaps the lower ward of Tavick's Landing isn't the best place for it. If Bas could please make a Persuasion check to find assistance.
You find that the person you've found to ask for help is not a human being but is in fact a 7 foot 6 hobgoblin mercenary so caught off guard by the fact you not only have the courage to come up and talk to him but the gall to ask for directions simply points into the distance and says "Somewhere that way, listen for the sound of metal getting hit and try not to die"
Besides some incredibly explicit graffiti, nothing of great note is seen on the way to the Cog Carnival, but you do hear the sounds of metal getting hit before long, seeing that the source is a group of Brelish veterans beating up a Warforged in a dark alley
"our contact I assume." Laydd approaches the men beating on the Warforged and addresses them directly "would young man you are in the process of mugging happen to be Coal?"
as Laydd approaches he sizes up the assaulters. Perception:22
There are four veterans, and they all turn their attention to you. All four seem brawny, but inexperienced, the way they carry themselves they appear to have fought in the war but not long or well.
"Get outta here, before we rough you up too tin-head" The biggest of them says, clearly mad about getting interrupted.
The warforged, dirty and dented, seems to be bleeding some sort of oil from a variety of cuts all over their body. They look to you with the best approximation of a pleading look it can muster considering their "jaw" is broken and hanging on one hinge.

Naedash nods approvingly at the directions. "I have an inkling this carnival may not be one for distraction and merriment."
Bas nods his head to the hobgoblin. “Thank you, sir.”
Turning to Naedash, “No, I think not. Best keep our heads about us.”
Bas walks in the direction the hobgoblin pointed, keeping an eye out.

If they move to attack so does Laydd.
The biggest lets out a deep belly laugh, while the others chuckle softly, Laydd should roll initiative, as should anyone joining in the fight.
