"Well met, master Edermath. My name is Tyrus, paladin of the Platinum Cadre. I and my companions seek to rid this town of this menace, and by force if needed."
To his companions, Tyrus asks "It sounds like we have two avenues of approach. Do we seek information at the Sleeping Giant first, or strike directly for the heart under Tresendar Manor? Or perhaps we split up and strike both at once?"
"Daran, what can you tell us about Glasstaff?"Boghadair asks, "have you ever met him or her?"
"Thaggy, I agree that we should check out this secret entrance. Tyrus, it might not be wise to split our group before we enter their base of operations. "
Daran responds, " I don't believe Glasstaff is his real name but maybe just because he carries a glass staff. I know that he is a human wizard and is directing the Redbrands. I don't believe he could control all of the other players in this organization without help. I have seen the mark of a black widow spider around and on letters in post office. Not sure what that means though. I have heard rumor about a secret tunnel in a thicket near the manor but most of them enter cellar entrance on the East side of the building. Hope this helps. If you are able to drive them off, I might have another adventure opportunity for your group."
He says good bye and gets back to working on the farm.

OOC: I don't want to stop this action, so please continue it, but I want to back up to between waking up and leaving for the Manor for a quick side trip.
Upon waking and seeing his fellow adventurers gathering for breakfast in the tavern, Akaas approaches Tyrus. "Good paladin," the old Halfling says, "would you be so kind as to accompany me to have this frog evaluated?"
OOC: To save time in my little flashback, I'm going to assume Barty's OK with it.
Akaas and Tyrus visit Halia, producing the frog statue for her inspection. "This is the artifact I mentioned yesterday. Is there anything you can tell us about it?"
OOC: Earlier.......Halia picks up the figure and studies it closely before saying anything she reaches behind her cabinet to pull out an ancient book. She reads the following, "Bullywugs are known to revere a god named Ramenos, but this deity seems to be more concerned with sleeping than with the welfare of his race. Ancient, crumbling statues of Ramenos can be found in the deepest jungles, great monuments near ruined temples that hint at what was once a mighty deity in some long forgotten time. The great old temples also indicate a time when Bullywugs were less primitive and more organized, capable of building huge monuments of stone. This statue most have been recovered from someone who has visited the mystery kingdoms from across the sea." Putting down the book, "where did you find it?"
"If you want me to assess the value, it is worth more to others than to anyone around here."
"I would give you 40 gp for it if you are selling it. Perhaps you might find someone that would give you more across the sea."
"We found it in a Goblin cave," Akaas says, picking up the statue and stowing it away. "The same cave where we rescued Sildar. I'll relay your offer to the group. Thank you for the information. While we're here," he says, changing the subject, "our party is planning to visit the manor. I thought you might like to know."
A brief scout of the facilities and surrounding land next to Tresendar Manor reveals that all of the upper portions of the house have caved in and are uninhabitable. Large trees flank the east and west exterior of the house. The manor sits up on a hill that overlooks the town. The southern portion of the house is closest to the edges of the hill. Lots of brush and thickets have grown up behind the house to the south. Carp’s tunnel runs through the thickets. It is about 5 feet wide and 8 feet high. It appears to be unguarded. The cellar entrance is on the east side of the house. Two redbrands with crossbows guard this entrance. They are alert but have not seen your group or Ian.
As Thagakh and Akaas approach the tunnel, they find it completely unguarded. The tunnel is about 20 feet long and opens into a cavern. A cold breeze fills this large natural cavern, carrying with it the faint scent of decaying flesh. A crevasse divides the cavern and is flanked by two rough stone columns that support the twenty-foot-high ceiling. Two arched wooden bridges span the chasm.

"Thagakh can safely say the Redbrands have a base on Tresdan Manor. How about we check the secret entrance that Johnson was talking last night?"

The half-orc makes a general look at the tunnel's surroundings for ambushes or traps.
Perception 10
Akaas helps his large half-Orc friend look for traps. Can Profgenclean roll with advantage?
we should probably take those two out quietly
