The wight teeters momentarily before crumpling to the ground; its sword clangs against the stone floor just before its head smacks the ground, making a terribly hollow and eerie "thump" that resonates through the room. (W2 has been slain).
Everyone:The kitchen is a large room, clean, well-organized, and obviously equipped to prepare meals for many guests at one time. From where you stand, the only unusual thing you notice about the place (other than the wretched corpse of the wight that you just slew) is a wooden bowl turned upside-down and lying on the floor near the table. The contents of the bowl--probably porridge of some sort--have been spilled out. The door to exit the kitchen is open; so you can see a short distance into the next room, which appears to be some kind of large, open area.
You barely have time to take all of this in when you hear a voice. "Is that you, Bharash? How I have longed to see you again, great wizard!" The words "great wizard" seem to be spoken with a sarcastic sneer. "You've come for Ro Venna, but you've found me instead! Ha ha." The laughter is cold and cruel. "Come to the great hall. Let's talk."
The voice is definitely masculine, but it has a raspy quality to it. You can tell that whoever is speaking is somewhere outside the kitchen.
"Let's not give away our identities yet. Perhaps I will go to the great hall to see what he wants, I could maybe even disguise myself as Bharash. You guys can jump in if things go sour."

"If you are going to try that Arissa, you could use all the help you can get." Ozum grabs her hand and chants a druidic incantation, casting guidance on Arissa.
Everyone: From the kitchen door you can look across the large open area of the ground floor and see that some faint, flickering light is streaming through an open set of double doors that are approximately 60' away from the kitchen.
Xellos says, "On second thought, the illusion would only last 1 minute anyway and might be beyond the scope of a simple magic trick. How about I create symbols worn by Bharash and Windhovers on your disguise? Anything to help..."
Xellos will instead use Prestidigitation to create a symbol or anything that can be placed on Arissa's disguise that Bharash wore at dinner to give it more credibility.
(Assuming the disguise route is being taken)
"If anything goes wrong, yell something and I can snuff out that candlelight."
Kurt makes his way across the main open area of the ground floor. He stops outside the set of large double doors that lead, presumably, into the great hall. (Map of ground floor below).
Xellos again has look of confusion and says to the remaining party members in the kitchen, "Am I missing something here? Can we start saying what we're doing before walking away in a hostile place? So what now?'
OOC: I'm assuming the heavy footsteps are now clearly heard in the hallway?
Everyone:You hear the voice a second time; this time, however, it is much closer. "I fear I am mistaken. Bharash has sent someone else in his honor it seems."
Frandal and Kurt: From your positions you hear the voice, turn your heads toward it, and see two creatures standing in front of one of the pillars (square # 25 in the map below). They, quite literally, appeared out of nowhere. One of the creatures you easily identify as a wight. Its sword hangs at its hip. The other creature is a tiefling dressed in some sort of flowing robe. He wields a long, thin, pale staff in his left hand. His is the voice you have been hearing. He looks at both of you, but doesn't seem to be threatened by your presence. He then speaks. "Well, what a disappointment this is. I sit here for three days, waiting for a Windhover, and who arrives instead? Looking at the wight next to him, he says, "And with all due respect, you and your cohorts haven't provided much in the way of company during that time."
"Hello, good sir? How are you? It is a pleasure to meet you, it would be an even greater pleasure to know your name. Perhaps you could also inform us as to where we are, we are travellers who stumbled across this place looking for somewhere to sleep. We entered from the stables thinking that no one was here, although we were obviously mistaken on that point, since it seems the lord of this castle is standing in front of us. Sorry about your skeletons, I'm sure you put a lot of work into them, but they were, you know... already dead, if you don't mind me saying so. If you would be so kind as to give us a room for the night, we will be on our way in the morning."

"Room for the night?" He chuckles and shakes his head. "You've come to the home of Ro Venna, wielder of the fourth fragment of Aeris, Windhover of Syndaris, and crossed swords with skeletons and wights...and you want a room." He looks at the wight next to him and repeats the final two words. "A room!"
He takes a few steps forward and says, "I've not come all this way and waited all this time to play innkeeper with a bunch of trespassers. You must leave now." He pauses again. "Alas, that won't work. If you leave, then you'll likely return with more trespassers." Another pause. He looks again at the wight and says, "He will not be pleased with this, will he?" The wight shakes his head. "I've changed my mind. Yes, a room you shall have. But I fear you may never leave it." He then begins to mutter some words, softly, that you cannot hear...
"I heard a rumour magic doesn't work very well around these parts..." Arissa waves around, indicating the general area. If the tiefling is casting a spell, it seems more difficult to do so than usual, almost as if someone had accidentally cast counterspell.
If posible, I would prefer if the tiefling didn't know that I cast a spell. Should I roll something?
