Several crates have few leaves and bits of soil.Twig checks the next crate where there is blood pooled at the bottom. It looks like this wagon was carrying vegetables and some kind of meat.
Twig scrunches up her nose but keeps investigating the meat. It seems odd that they would just let it bleed all over, don't they usually drain the blood before packing it? She reaches in and pulls out a chunk of meat. Why are they taking food out of the prison anyway? She looks at the meat and tries to figure out what kind of meat it is.
Investigation:6
Nature:5
(Well she's not figuring anything out with those rolls)
Jumping out of the wagon with the chunk of meat, she will start running back to the others.
Roland tried to hide it on his face, but he was relieved when Twig hopped out of the back of the wagon. Then he looked at her quizzically as she approached. She was holding something odd. Was that... a hunk of meat?
"Good thing Tilsu distracted that driver!" he said to Twig, almost chiding the girl. Reminding himself that this wasn't his little sister, he softened his tone and changed the subject, pointing at her hand. "Still--what in the world is that?"
"What are you talking about? He wouldn't have seen me either way!" Twig retorts as she jogs up to them. Why do they all insist on trying to rescue her? It's not like she's never done that before... had her brother been there, he would likely have laughed at her for jumping into a wagon heading in the wrong direction, then made fun of her for not knowing what kind of meat she was looking at. Ha! What would he think if he knew how she got into this mess in the first place? Not that he'd care anymore, he's to busy learning magic to bother with her.
Stopping in from of Roland and the kenku, she says, "That wagon is full of dirt, vegetables, and bloody chunks of this."She waves the meat around, "Seems a bit odd to be bringing food out of a prison don't you think?"
Zhernon nods, "Strange, yes. Another mystery. Rescue first. See way in?" They look back out at the cart and then back at the strange meat. "Fresh kill?"
"What are you talking about? He wouldn't have seen me either way!"
Roland grimaced at the retort. Twig was right, of course; he was effectively getting concerned over nothing. Still, were all city kids this smarmy with their elders?
"Strange, yes. Another mystery. Rescue first. See way in? Fresh kill?"
Quickly diverting his attention to something else, the farmboy looked at the meat, then looked back at the prison uneasily. Sure, they could have had the prisoners tending fields in the yard, but he hadn't thought the grounds looked big enough to support much farming--never mind enough to have a surplus for use outside. And the meat? It didn't look like chicken, and he was pretty sure they weren't raising anything much bigger in there.
(( Roland will try to identify the type of meat. Pick whatever's appropriate... Investigation:3, Survival:6, Nature:17 ))
"Sorry to bother you, but could you help my companions and I? We're looking for an inn to rest for the night and I was looking for a guide around town. Could you help us out?" Tilsu asks.
Roland looked toward Twig and Zhernon. "Well, now's the time to decide, it seems. We can go make other plans, but if you both would rather sneak in, I'll join you; either way, we probably need to move on before they notice us loitering."
Zhernon will grab the bloody meat and jaunt over to the driver of the wagon before he takes off again. "Dropped off. Here. Seems strange though. What is it?" Zhernon questions the driver while holding the raw meat out. "New here. Why take food out?"
The farmboy walked up behind Zhernon, then smiled wide and waved to the driver before hopping into the back of the wagon. The food he knew about, but he wondered what else might be in the wagon?
Twig wipes the her bloody hands in the grass on the ground then chases after the other two. She smiles brightly at the cart driver but says nothing yet.
The driver looks to the meat and says "Oh my friend who works as a guard killed a boar and had plenty to share"
There is nothing else in the wagon beyond what was described
Once everyone gets on the wagon the driver snap the reins and the wagon heads towards the main road with the sound of hooves on cobblestones. A half hour passes before he pulls up to an Inn called the Revered Sheep in the High Bridge District There is a sign with what looks like a sleeping sheep.
It seems like a quiet place painted in grey blues with an abundance of flower pots and window boxes blooming with flowers. A tabby cat meows in the windowsill before sauntering off.
"Here we are friends. It may not be big, but it is quite cozy"

The driver jerks up and rubs his eyes as he looks at Tilsu "Do you need something?"
"Sorry to bother you, but could you help my companions and I? We're looking for an inn to rest for the night and I was looking for a guide around town. Could you help us out?" Tilsu asks.

He begins shaking his head "Of course I will help. Hop onto the back and I will take you to an inn"
Tilsu gives a slight bow, "Thank you," She'll wave to the group, "He can give us a ride to the inn!"
Roland looked toward Twig and Zhernon. "Well, now's the time to decide, it seems. We can go make other plans, but if you both would rather sneak in, I'll join you; either way, we probably need to move on before they notice us loitering."
He waited to see how the others responded.
