As you come up the storm has calmed a bit. Captain Fray gives the helm to the bosun and makes his way over to Tilsu. He gives off a commanding presence that brooks no tomfoolery. You can smell pipe smoke lingering on Captain Fray "You there. What is the situation?"
After helping as much as she could with plugging the hole, Twig dusts her hands off. Or at least makes that motion, before proudly walking away from the ship's side. "All in a days work."
Rather than helping bail water, she gives Roland a large childish grin and then runs over to the Kenku. She doesn't seem to care that she is soaking wet as she stands there dripping, she only has eyes for the weird bird.
"Hi!" She says enthusiastically to the Bird person, "I'm Twig! Do you have a name?"
Zhernon finished with the buckets and made their way back up on deck as well, in time for the girl to bound over to them and greet them rather excitedly. "Twig! Twig!" They echoed back for a moment and then responded with "Zhernon! Twig safe? Boat safe?" They cast a quick glance around before relaxing slightly as they noticed the waters calming down some finally.
"Leak has been sealed and currently taking the water out. Will look for additional breaks if the water is still filling." Tilsu reports. "Before it was sealed, there was a boarding of elemental creatures. We've dispatched the ones we encountered but will report if we cone across more."
Captain Frays nods "Good. Report any changes."he takes out his pipe and lights it taking a smoke break as he looks over the ship. Thib rings the mealtime bell. Everyone on ship can hear it. In front of the galley kitchen sailors pushes and elbowed each other to get to the food first. It was a bit of cooked rations and hard tack with a bit of water. The sailors grumbled intensely with some throwing insults at Thib or accusing him of hoarding the food.
Each party member has only 1 day left of ration and water. These are dire times.
"Yes! Yes! That's me!" Twig grins as the kenku says her name. "Your name is Zhernon? That's a cool name! I'm as safe as I can be on this boat! I think the boat is safe? It's safe from those water things anyways! We sure showed them didn't we!" She giggles then pauses for a moment. Clasping her hands together she looks at the kenku, "Can I touch your feathers? Are they soft?" She stares at him with wide eyes.
Once the ship was mostly bailed out, Roland heard the dinner bell. With a sudden worry, he headed to his personal area to look for his backpack, and found it high and dry where he'd left it. With a sigh of relief he pulled out his last ration to eat, then carefully tucked the backpack back into its corner. He then headed toward where the rest of the passengers were congregating; he hadn't gotten to know them too well yet, but over a meal seemed the best time for it.
Zhernon didn't respond out loud, simply eyeing the girl with a curious nature, before cautiously holding out their arm for her to examine as she wished. Their other hand began searching their bag for their remaining ration and nibbled a little while they watched the young girl. Their eyes drifted out after a bit though, scanning the waters as far as they could see for any sign of land.
Eyes filling with glee, Twig places both hands on the Kenku's arm. She doesn't grab it hard, she just runs her hands across the feathers, making sure not to ruffle them. Giggling, she says "They are soft!"Then she sees their food, and her stomach growls. Her happiness fades as she realists something. "Huuuuuuh." She wines. "I never got any food." She stops petting the feathers and starts going through her various pockets. Eventually she pulls out a small chunk of stale bread. After staring at it for a second, she shoves the entire thing in her mouth. As she chews, she ponders how to get her hands on some more since she has been found out.
Tilsu slowly eats just about half his rations. While trying to conceal that he was ritual casting detect poison and disease once more, remembering that the captain's quarters held some. He looks as if he's just looking all about the ship.

Roland sat and tried to make light conversation with the other passengers. A young elf girl, a kenku, and a yuan-ti. They seemed like an odd lot, but Roland began to wonder if there wasn't some greater purpose going on with them all being here together.
"It's been a rough day, I know, but hopefully things will turn out for the better tomorrow," he laughed as he got up to head to bed. He glanced over at the sailors, then lowered his voice and continued, "Still, you might want to watch your backs tonight; I'm not liking the look of the crew. If we all sleep in the same area, we can help each other if... anything happens."
With that, the warrior headed below deck to get some rest.
Twig looks a little surprised when Roland addresses her. Swallowing her bread crumb she says, "I've been sleeping in the cargo hold, now I'm not sure where I'm supposed to sleep. I mean, that lady did throw me in a room, so i suppose i could sleep in there?" She smiles at the Kenku then follows Roland below deck. "But I don't trust that lady. I don't trust anyone on this dumb boat. All of the sailors look mean and the captain is mean and I don't want to talk to him."
Tilsu shakes off his spell as Roland talks, "I agree, we'd be more disposable if we weren't allied. And best to keep suspicions on the crew, seems odd to have elementals board as soon as the ship had a breach." He heads below deck with the others, "I suggest we take turns doing a watch. Night will bring either the brazen or craven among them to act if they are on the edge."
Zhernon clucked softly, "Watch, watch! Sleep, sleep! Always watch." They gestured towards the rest of the crew. "Strange ritual performing earlier. Made sea angry maybe." They found some suitable bedding again and began to get ready to bunk down for the night. "Keep watch, just ask." They mentioned before closing their eyes to rest.
Twig is unable to go to sleep for fear of being sought out, and locked in a room again by the first mate. Not to mention her growling stomach. Because of this she wanders around the ship, though she stays near the areas where the others are sleeping.
