Roland pulled out the coin Delbyn gave them, trying to check it's condition while blocking the view of it from any passers-by. "C'mon, little coin, show us the way," he murmured.
Zhernon looks at the paths and nods, dropping their disguise finally. "Yes, that path looks best. We'll find the way. Stay close together."
(Ooc sidenote: since we're in their favored terrain, the group is not hindered by difficult terrain, cannot get lost except by magical means, Zhernon can find twice as much food foraging if necessary and is really good at tracking something. All this as long as we travel an hour or more.)
The party heads down the path towards the logging camp. You see signs of heavy wagon marks and its a well used path. For the next 8 hours you travel onward with no signs of the logging camp. The sound of a myriad of birds keep you company. Of course the biting insects have been relentless attacking you and with their constant buzzing.
Its late afternoon
do you push on risking exhaustion or get some rest?
Roland sighed, and once again pointed in the compass direction. "No. I had thought the path would eventually level out with the compass, but that doesn't seem to be happening. If we want to get to where we're going... it looks like we're going to need to leave the path."
He looked around at the others. It had already been several hours, and while no one was particularly roughed up or hurt, they could probably all use a rest. "How about we make camp here, then trek through the forest tomorrow after we've rested?" The farmboy shrugged, and added, "Or, we could push on until we reach the logging camp; but I have no idea how much further that is."
The guard still looks skeptical. He begins taking a closer look at everyone.

"Come on! I REALLY want to be an adventurer! And pa said he'd teach me! Please let us go! PLEASE!"
Persuasion; 12
(and once again we all suck at rolling)
Tilsu raises a hand, "Sir, I suggest you let them pass already. The line is getting a bit antsy back here."

Guard wis save

With that the guard lets everyone through the perimeter.
What stands before the party is a signpost that says logging camp and a path that cuts deep into the jungle. The path continues on to the east.
What do you do?

The needle continues to point to the northeast
Roland pointed in the direction of the coin's... blood compass, he decided to call it. "I guess the path is the best route?" he suggested.

"Is the coin still pointing us this way?"
Twig isn't going to rest unless the others do too.
The needle is pointing away from the path towards the northeast. You would need to traverse the jungle.

"It's better to rest for now. It's not like the shrine is going to move while we're resting." Tilsu says
